I was excited to find such a modern-looking coat tree to use for the kids' coats. I thought the combination of having a marble base with numerous hooks was a perfect match. In theory, lots of coats could hang from the hooks while not tipping over (because of the marble base.) WRONG.

The base *is* marble, however everything else is made of plastic. The pieces do not fit together well; where the pole parts screw together, there is substantial wobble. The bulbs on the ends of the hooks are EXTREMELY brittle plastic. You have to push them on to construct this unit, and you'll be lucky to get them all on without breaking. It won't be long until someone grabs his/her jacket from a hook and either tips the coat rack over or simply snaps one of the plastic end pieces off at the tip (no, you can't get it back on.)

Save your time and your money - buy something else. As luck would have it, the coat stand comes in multiple variations (colors/accents) - I only wish I could thread this review across the glossy black, shabby white chic, etc. versions to save others the bother.

I would NOT recommend this coat tree/stand to anyone.

This is the cheapest piece of junk I have ever purchased! the hooks and balls on the ends are made of very flimsy plastic, NOT METAL! The 2 main center pieces don't fit together correctly and it wobbles all over the place. You might as well just through the coats on the floor!
