I really like this bag - it rocks! The cooler section at the bottm has a nice thick lining that won't tear easily at all - nicely done! I managed to put 9 short plastic bottles and 3 little canned drinks, plus the ice. Naturally, as the day went on while I was in the sun, the ice started to melt. Whenever I picked up the backpack, some water spilled through the zipper - that is par for soft coolers, especially short soft coolers like this one. It's almost impossible to pick up a backpack and keep it level; it's going to tilt and that's when the water would tend to drip out. The outside material didn't get affect by the water at all.

The middle section has a lot of room for sandwiches, fruits, candy, snacks, etc. For my short day outing, I didn't even come close to filling it. There is also a small mesh pocket to keep flat items like sandwiches from bouncing around.

The top mesh section has a lot of room for clothing or other dry items; and the zippered pocket has a clip for keys and enough room for smaller items like sunscreen. The straps in the back can be zippered together or kept separated and the handle on top helped to keep the backpack level wheneve I moved it.

I would definitely recommend this backpack for anyone who likes to spend a lot of time outdoors, either hiking, camping, at the beach, etc. But, because of it's size, it might be a bit overkill to bring your lunches to work - just a side note.
