Nice pan, non stick, very smallIf you are looking for a small non-stick pan for eggs for one big or two small eaters, this is a nice pan. If you have a family this pan is most likely far too small to suit your needs
The surface is truly non-stick. This pan is great for making omelets, or frittatas, which is all it is used for in my home due to its diminutive size. The pan will hold up fine in the oven, which is where I finish my frittatas.
If you own one of the Calphalon sets, there will be probably be a lid in your home that fits this pan (which I have found useful). This little skillet is the perfect size for making one burger which is where the lid comes in handy.
In order to maintain the non-stick surface I place circles of felt between my pans to keep them from scraping together. This seems to work fine in my kitchen for those pans that are stored inside each other.
Overall, I give this pan 5 stars because it is exactly what it is advertised to be, a non-stick 8 inch pan. Please be aware that it might not suit your needs if you have a family larger than 2 people.

Really non-stickI used this to cook cold, out of the fidge eggs, and it does not stick (not truly, at least). If it SEEMS like it sticks, all you have to do is break away the egg from the surface of the pan a little and you'll see that it comes off cleanly and easily. I do not add ANY oil or grease when I cook, and so far, nothing sticks. It's great.

Excellent product/Excellent priceI was amazed at the quality of this set because of the very low price. I have many Calphalon pieces and not one cost less than $40. This whole set is sturdy, looks great and cleans up perfectly. All for under $30! I plan to buy more for shower gifts!

everyday panThis is a very versatile pan, which is aptly named, because you can use it every day. Calphalon commercial hard anodized are my favorite pans for cooking. They do a great job, and if you use them correctly, clean up easily. I recommend this pan to anyone who enjoys cooking.
All purpose panFrying, braising, steaming, baking-all possible in a utensil large enough to cook for a hungry family.
I hate washing a multitude of pans while cooking and this is ideal for pot roasts or stir fry or two pounds of asparagus. Because of the conductivity of Calphalon fitting on a standard size burner is not a problem but the teakettle might need to be moved a bit

Great Pot!I am enjoying the Calphalon 12" everyday pan very much. It is great to use and it will go to the table without looking like a 12" frying pan. The price was right too!

Excellent for Swedish pancakes or crepes!I have used many different frying pans through the years for making Swedish pancakes and this is the best! Excellent! I like it so much I'm going to buy a 2nd one. :-)
Everything that it promisesI ordered this after I read a review in the NY Times about clad pots and pans. Calphalon was rated third, but the first two were priced way out of my range. I have been very satisfied with the product. You can use metal utensils and it doesn't scratch. I have since ordered more pieces. Amazon's prices for these products make them affordable for everyone.

Great, but maybe a bit smallThe pan itself is well-made and the nonstick coating is superb. I found it so easy to toss/flip food around in this wok that I didn't really need utensils. I cooked on the electric element on high temp setting, but the handle stayed cool! The flat bottom does away with the need for a fire/stabilizing ring. My wife seemed to think the pan was heavy, but I thought it was just right and well-balanced. In fact, I feel that the 10" pan may be ideal for perhaps only 2-person meals. I stir-fried a pound of shrimp in it, but the pan seemed almost full to the brim. IMO, this pan is perfect for making fried rice because of its nonstick surface and the ease at which you can flip/stir the contents in the pan. Also, it would be nice if it had a lid...
Getting to be my favoriteThis pan is on its way to being my first choice for cooking. Here's why:
- It's very thick and conductive, food is hard to burn when using a radiant or coil stove. Not all of us have gas stoves, yet!
- The thickness keeps the heating even and steady, while electric stoves cycle on and off
- The non-stick quality is amazing. It feels like the whole pan is one solid piece of nonstick metal. I don't have to fear using a wire whisk on the surface.
- I have the wok of the same line, commercial nonstick, and it has some limitations because of its size. This pan can be used for toss-fry (OK, you need just a little bit of muscle but not as much as tossing a wok's contents)
- Swing forward, everything flies up, snap and catch it all. You don't need that angled pan some other maker has been advertising, the wall curvature is perfectly designed for toss and catch. This keeps your ingredients more intact than stir-frying.
- You shouldn't put it in the dishwasher, but cleaning up is very easy. Everything slides off easily and you're done.
- Until now my preferred pans were the decent quality, but cheap, $2.99 Steka pans from IKEA (I have 8-9) and they still do a good job for small servings, and I don't care about putting them in a dishwasher. But this pan's big enough for dinner while you need two or three of the Stekas.
- Sometimes Amazon has a great price on this pan. I highly recommend picking up one or two.

Best NonStick WokI do quite a bit of stir frying and this is the best non-stick wok that I have owned (I've probably have owned 4 or 5). I bought this on a whim last year because it was on sale and now I'm buying another as a gift for my mother. This is a great wok because 1) it is heavy gauge and heats evenly 2) the non-stick surface has actually withstood reasonably high heat for a year now without significant discoloration or damage. This is probably its greatest strength since all my other woks have either warped or lost its "non-stickiness" because of the high heat needed for traditional stir fry. It's also great for sauces and reductions because of the shape, size, and non-stick surface.
The downside is that it is small. Perfect size for servings for 2 but not great for family sized portions. I'd also recommend buying a lid if you don't already have one.

Simply FantasticThis set compliments my existing set of Simply Calphalon pots & pans. It's a great product and I recommend it to everyone. If I had one complaint it would be that the handle is a little different than the pots I currently have. Not really a big deal unless you like everything to match perfectly.

Lid doesn't sit properly on potI bought the pot and found the lid is warped and doesn't sit on the pot properly. It was too late to try to return the item. Check right away if you do buy.
I use this a lot more than I thought I would! It's GREAT!I was lusting for this stock pot because I had bought three other Calphalon Commercial Hard Anodized pieces earlier in the year and just love them. This line of cookware is so tough, Calphalon actually recommends cleaning it with Comet! I was afraid Calphalon would discontinue this pot before I could afford to buy it...and then it went on sale. What joy!
I didn't think I'd use this pot very much because I'm not much of a cook; that it would just sit around looking pretty as part of my set except during rare canning adventures. But the day it came, I tried using it to cook a whole meal (see below) using a stainless steel steamer insert from a cheap stock-pot/steamer set that fit well enough to get the job done. I've used it every other day or so ever since!
My first meal: I put some beans I'd soaked overnight in the bottom of the pot and brought them to a slow boil. After the beans had cooked a bit, I set two cups of rice (prepared as follows) in a Pyrex glass 7-cup storage bowl (sans lid) and set it into the stock pot. (Fabulous rice-cooking technique: Put twice-rinsed rice into a heat-proof bowl, pour HOT water over it so the water level is roughly 3/4" higher than the rice, then steam approximately 20-25 minutes. It will hold longer without overcooking, hot and ready to serve.) When it was almost time for dinner, I went out to my garden, picked some summer squash, and cut it in half lengthwise; there was plenty of room to stick the squash around the edges of the rice bowl in the steamer. We had beans & rice and lovely steamed squash for dinner and it was marvelous!
The only thing that could make this stock pot better is if I could get my hands on a steamer basket that truly fits it. I've been trying to locate one made specifically for this pot but so far have not been successful. If somebody finds a good one, please let me know!

A Cook's PotI have owned this pot for over 6 years and it gets used all the time. Coming from a professional resturant family, I knew about the Calphalon Commercial Hard Anodized line we used in the resturant-- and how they perform. So buying one for home use just meant saving up enough $$ to purchase it, but at this price I'm buying another one! They are well worth the money.
This pot is very user friendly as it can do everything from Soup, spagetti sauce to large batches of jelly and jam, or corn on the cob for a small army of diners. We've even used it to boil 2-3 small lobsters without a hitch.
THE FOLLOWING IS SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR CALPHALON'S HARD ANODIZED COOKWARE-- Not the non-stick.
A few other reviewers have mentioned a couple things I'd like to set straight.
1. NEVER EVER put this pot in the dishwasher. It will void the warranty. Calphalon tells you wash it by hand in the sink with hot water. Calphalon tells you in the instructions you can use 3M Pot Scrubbers and Comet Cleanser on the pan. This will remove any and all food residue, in order to keep it from sticking. Clean or Treating it about every 3-4 washings with Dormond Cleanser is recommended by Calphalon to return the pan to it's like new condition. Normally soaking the pot by filling it with dish soap and hot water releases most sticky food.
2. For those reviewers who commented about warped lids and problems, Calphalon does take their warranty seriously. Call the company (get the number off their website,) and tell them your problems and don't take no for an answer. I do agree that since some Calphalon has been made overseas vs the old time stock out of Ohio, the quality has been spotty at times. But this is where you get the opportunity to speak up and tell them exactly what you think. (I personally have bought every piece of Ohio made Calphalon I can find, it is superior.) But I've returned a poorly made lid and other problems and never had a problem. If you first don't like the answer you get, Write the CEO/President of the company a letter. It will get action if you explain your problem and tell them what you exspect of them to do make it right. They are used to dealing with the expections of professional chefs.
In our house we do not like the idea of using a non-stick pan and have never had a problem with these Hard Anodized pans and food sticking. The trick is getting the pan hot enough with the proper oil or liquid before you begin adding additional items to cook.
The major problem most people have is understanding HOW to cook with these pans. It really pays to read the instruction booklet that comes with the pans. It will save you countless grief and make you a much better cook/chef.

Love it!This is the best pot for the money that I have ever purchased. I've had it a month and it has become the mainstay of my stovetop. It's so hardy, attractive and well-formed for manipulating food. Love the lid too. Can't recommend this pot enough!
