Cooking Brands Review Replaced a worn out spaghetti sauce pot...
I inherited my mother's old white enamel pot, first used by my grandmother and then by my mother, for many a family meal of meatballs, bragiole, sausage, pork and more, all stewed in her fabulous spaghetti sauce (or as we I-talians call it, "gravy.")

The pot and I grew up together, and I'd like to think I've survived a little better than the pot! It's dinged and dented, but worse, the bottom of the enamel has started to wear. It was time to get a new pot.

I've been a big fan of all Cuisinart products, and I absolutely adore their cookware. Nothing is better for the price (esp. if you shop, as I did, on Amazon.) I measured this pot, and the dimensions were close to the revered family sauce pot, so I took the plunge.

Well, this baby is great. We make huge amounts of meatballs, etc. (all plunked in the sauce pot),and this vessel takes all the meatballs, all the bragiole, and the rest without overflow. The heat is even and thorough - no hot spots, so no burned gravy in the bottom of the pot. Cleans like a dream, and looks great in my newly remodeled kitchen.

I'd highly recommend it, esp. at this price - you'd only get a better deal if Cuisiniart paid you to take it!

Meanwhile, in our home, the sainted porcelain pot has been retired and put away lovingly in honor of the family matriarchs. But at least with this Cuisinart gem, my recipes are Old World, but my cookware is 21st century!

Cooking Brands Review Uncomfortable handle
Silicone bristles are nice and work very well. But, the arched handle is very uncomfortable. Suggest you buy the 10-Inch instead.

Cooking Brands Review Nice box kid
The box is untreated pine, pleasant smelling, and rustic in finish It displays and stores the knives well. One Star.
The knives are apparently "made by French Mastercraftsmen." This might be what you expect from the name "Laguiole." The 'mastercraftmen' must have been very very drunk though. Instead of nice hardwood handles they put on tacky plastic ones. The rivets they used were slight ones of poor quality brass that matched the rest of brass fittings which they must have found in recycle bin. The high carbon steel blade they replaced with low grade quality blades with lots of branding all over them. We can only assume they looked good through glazed vision. The quality control person must have cut himself on the burrs and rough edges of the finished products and bled to death on the floor while production went on and on. Thousands of terrible low quality knives in wooden boxes. No Stars.
So, one star for the box which your fourth grade child could make in woodwork shop.
(The great danger with internet shopping is that you have to trust brand names. Don't trust this name - see an earlier review explaining what happened.)

Cooking Brands Review Pleasant Enough
I Purchased a set simply because they came close in design to our everyday flatware. They come in a nice pine box which has no lid so they do take up space on a drawer or shelf. The knives themselves are very light weight. Our set (black and steel) was fine with no obvious flaws. The handles are lightweight plastic and the rivets are small so there is a question of how long they will hold up. They would have done better to use resin impregnated wood. The tang does go the length of the grip. These seem as sharp as any steak knives I have used and are quite comfortable in the hand and do afford good control when triming a steak or a chop close to the bone! I would say they are of the same level of quality that you might find at a Woolworths (of sainted memory!) or a K-Mart. Not something to buy if you are really looking to even come close to the traditional high quality of either Sabatier or Laguiole. That said I am planning on buying a second set to match the number of place settings of our everyday flatware.

Cooking Brands Review Stylish steak knives
A grand surprise, these are much better looking and definitely better behaved than any I have bought over the years while paying much more. They are nicely balanced, cut well, and even look good as part of a place setting. The more slender shape, curved handle, and even the position of the Napoleonic bee come together in a nice design that is functional and a pleasure to use. (The little bee-shaped finger rest is a conversation starter too.) I've heard of another set by the same company with bone handles and a much higher price tag. These suit us just fine.

Cooking Brands Review The VERY BEST Hot wings...
I purchased the hot wing kit from Eastman because my wife and I love wings.
This is a high quality cooker that is well thought out. The pot and basket are rugged and durable. This product is built to last. Even the handles on the pot are better than I expected for the price.
The first batch that I cooked following the instructions that came with the kit turned out to be the best we have ever eaten. We have cooked them for friends and parties and there are never any left. Friends always ask for the recipe. We don't tell very many people about the sauce though.
Get one of these kits and you will be a sucessful chef in high demand.
Look out footbal season, it's going to get messy.

Cooking Brands Review Great pan, great value, great quality
I've had this pan for a year now and I love it! It has even baking and it's truly nice to have non-stick that is really non-stick. I've even used it to make mini pumpkin pies for my hubby and daughter's lunches and it was perfect! I purchased two when I ordered them and would do it again and again. I really like the cuisinart products and this is no exception!

Cooking Brands Review Heavy-duty, true non-stick pan
I've used this pan four times now. The result has been very satisfactory. No matter I greased the pan or not, the muffins always came out so easily. I haven't tried to use dishwasher to clean the pan yet since it's so easy to clean by hand!

The color of pan is light-gray. But it doesn't affact my baking time, I still use the time recommended by the regular muffin recipes.

Cooking Brands Review fantastic multiuse spatula
I love this spatula, and I am picky about them! The handle is heavier than a plastic spatula but it's not cumbersome. It's small enough to fit perfectly around the corners of tin cans, glass jars, and small enough to fit in my mouth, which is very important when making desserts... I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Cooking Brands Review Not as good as I thought it would be
Bought this stockpot with a lot of expectations. I used it for the first time to make soup, and there were scratches all over the bottom. I even used a wooden ladle instead of a metal utensil. I expect quality from Cuisinart cookware and also from quantanium non-stick coatings. I also expected it to be heavier.

Cooking Brands Review very pleased
This pot is nice and very easy to clean. The size is right, not too big and not too small. I use it every day. I got a good deal on this pot for $26.

Cooking Brands Review Not just a pot
Hey, I know it sounds weird to review a pot (I mean it's a pot, right?) but it is a good one. Nothing sticks, we can clean it and still have time to have a life and it boils water turned to medium because, well, who knows? but it somehow conducts heat and works great to get the job done FAST. That's important because I work as a professor and a therapist and a mom of a teen who runs cross country (and eats more pasta than a stereotype) and a toddler (who eats and throws more pasta than his brother) so fast and efficient get high scores at our house.
