Some good points, some bad points

A passionate home cook that has been honing her cooking skills for the last 25 years writes this review. My favorite cookbooks are "The Professional Chef" by the Culinary Institute and "Culinary Artistry. Cooking is my form of therapy. I purchased these mitts a few years ago because I love my silicone cookware and potholders. I had great expectations for these potholders. This product did not live up to my expectations.

Pros:
1.These gloves will protect your hands and forearms from splattering grease when deep fat frying
2.This product does not absorb fat as cloth does
3.This product will not absorb water and then radiate heat as cloth does
4.The gloves can be washed in the dishwasher or in the kitchen sink with dish soap
5.The mitts will not burn if left near a burner like cloth
6.They did work well when I was flipping over a partially cooked 22 pound turkey last Thanksgiving so that it could finish breast side up

Cons:
1.These gloves are far too big for the average female, my hands swim inside the gloves
2.If you are working in a hot kitchen you hands will get sweaty inside the gloves which can cause your hand to slip out of the glove unexpectedly
3.The bulkiness of the glove keeps you from being able to grip tongs or utensil handles firmly

Overall, the concept is good, but the execution leaves a little to be desired. I have resumed using my silicone potholders that have most of the benefits of the mitts without some of the drawbacks. I would only recommend this product to men; they are far too big to be useful for most women.
