These steak knives cut through steak so easily---it is hard to believe that you are cutting meat. I would highly recommend the Henckels steak knife set. I ordered this set to go with the full Henckels knife set that we had already purchased & found that this is truly the best set of knives we have ever owned. Most likely this will be the last set we need to purchase since they stay sharp & are extremely well constructed.

I bought this set based on the reviews, please shop cautiously for this brand of knife to make sure you "know" what you're getting. These knives are sharper than any knife I have owned or seen. Comes with a great sharpener that will put a real edge on your other knife collections too. I have The Henckels steak knife set too and I quite satisfied with this purchase am sure anyone will, very reasonable price.

Henckels Twin Signature 7-Piece Block Set is exactly what I'd hoped that it would be: a quality set of knives that is ideal for the home.

The set of Henckels that I've owned since the mid-80s finally gave in to a lot of use, sharpenings and dishwashings (dishwashing a good knife is a nice way to shorten the handle's life expectancy!). But 20 years of great service from my previous set of Henckels certainly warranted a loyal update/upgrade to another Henckels set.

And I am not disappointed. The new set is quite sturdy. Home users will be impressed with their strength; pros might be used to a higher standard, but I used to work in a professional kitchen and I can't see how these would not be as effective as anything a pro has.

These knives come out of the box SHARP too...a lot sharper than the sharpest that I've ever had my previous set sharpened to.

There were two descriptions from Amazon that tell you what you get; one of Amazon's descriptions included a carving knife (product description) and the other a peeling knife (what's in the box). Amazon seems to have corrected the error as of this updated 2-13-2006 writing. To be sure, here's what you actually get:

- 2 1/2" peeling knife
- 4" paring knife
- 5" serrated knife
- 8" chef's knife...this baby cuts through a roast like a hot knife through butter even though it's designed for chopping and dicing. In my opinion, it's better than a carving knife.
- a sharpening steel
- kitchen shears
- and a storage block with 11 slots which is great because some of the knives, especially the serrated knives, from my old set are still in mint shape (like the 8" bread knife), so there's plenty of room in the block for knives in your current collection looking for a new place to sleep.

No 8" carving knife. But like I said above, the 8" chef's knife works better than any carving knife that I've used.

The only things missing from this set for the average home is a nice large bread knife (as I said this was not a problem for me) and steak knives (also not a problem as most households already have these). Plain and simple, this is a great set of food preparation knives that--if my previous set is any indication--will last for decades.

A very solid knife set, especially with the extra slots for those who have a few "favorite" knifes left in the drawer. MAKE SURE when you buy Henckels to get the "twin" set instead of the single little henckel-man, that's a big upgrade in quality. Oh, and for goodness sake people, quit putting your knife set through the dishwasher and just clean them as you go.

Yes, I admit that I am very picky about scissors. Over the years, we have bought quite a few scissors, from the expensive ones to those you can buy from 99cent stores.
This set of scissors is by far the best investment we have ever made. They are ALL sharp and precise.
The flower cutter has plastic handle but it does the job well.
For 29.99, you can't go wrong with it!

These scissors are comfortable to use, solid, attractive. The sizes bundled in this set were just what I was looking for. Excellent product - great value.

I bought this set of scissors about 6 years ago and they work just as perfectly now as the day I bought them! I reach for them CONSTANTLY! The variety of sizes is wonderful. Yes, the handles may be plastic but that does not mean they wear out or break - they are very durable. They've stayed sharp, they are easy to clean, they have not loosened at all where the joint is located and the larger scissors are very sturdy and strong! I've cut small wire with them and they stay super sharp and undented! Awesome gift! In fact I'm going to purchase another set for a Christmas gift.

I have had these knives for over a year and of all the knives I have owned they are the best. They may not compare to the high-end knives made by this brand, but they are great for the typical family. I am very very satisfied with them!

These were sent instead of the black-handled set I ordered so I thought I would give them a try. They are listed as "dishwasher safe", but evidently are not. Brown stains (rust?) appeared on the tops of all the handles. I cleaned them with silver polish, but the stains reappeared with subsequent washings. I have returned them and received a refund.

I bought these knives at Target several years back. Although they *occassionally* get dishwasher stains on the handles, the blades themselves never get dishwasher stains on them, which is important to me; my girlfriend bought a different set of stainless steel steak knives (different manufacturer) that consistently come out of the dishwasher with massive rust stains on the blades themselves, which makes me not use them (who wants to eat rust). This makes me appreciate the Henckels set even more: I would definitely recommend this Henckels set.

However, they are smaller in size than what I expected. They are the same size as my butter knives. I expected them to be some what longer. They cut beautifully and look sleek and clean.

I have a set of Henckels Professional 'S' knives. I was always disappointed with the sharpness until I sharpened them with the Henckels Twin Sharp Duo Knife Sharpener. I'm not a chef nor someone who is enthusiastic about cooking and preparation. Follow the instructions and the sharpener works as advertised. I can't compare it to another sharpener and I didn't try to cut paper with a sharpened knife. The knives cut food much better. Good enough for me.

This beats doing it manually. Does not provide the original cut when first bought, but for just secs to sharpen knife it is well worth the investment. Still use the steel to get a nice even luster and shine at the tip.

I replaced my steel sharpener that came with my Twin Cuisine set with this one. Works great and looks good enough to leave on the counter.

I have wanted a knife block forever but never got one! Now, its so handy and very nice looking sitting on my counter top, the knife's are always at my finger tips no opening of drawers.

Handsome and compact; will fit the decor of most kitchens. Nice to have the knives out of the drawer....

I don't know why I waited so long to buy and use a knife block! It is very convenient for keeping my most-used knives close at hand - and, for me, this one is just the right size!

I like the design of the knives. They just are not sharp. I have to push down real hard for them to cut anything.

When my old wooden block finally fell apart and I saw my husband trying to glue and nail it together, I thought, "enough already. What did we save our change for all those years?" and I was so tired of having to sharpen all my old knives, over and over again. Costco wanted $150+ for these same knives. I love them. They are sturdy to hold in the hand, cut beautifully, clean easily and look great on the counter. The only thing I didn't consider was that I am left-handed and these knives are placed sideways in the block as a right-hander would place them. But I have a lifetime of experience in adjusting to the right-handed world. I consider this a very intelligent purchase.

My friends have a wonderful house, but the oldest (dullest) set of kitchen knives I have ever seen. I bought these for them as a gift and they were blown away. Best of all, they thought I spent a TON of money.

These blades are not made in Germany for anyone who is planning on buying them. It is a misprint in the product details. They are made in China, but they still function just as they should. They are very sharp. I am not a knife expert so I can't evaluate them as critically, but they do function just as I would hope. They are very sharp upon opening the box.

This is actually the second set of these knives I've bought. The first set was for a Christmas present for a friend last year. After recieving those and having had the chance to use them I decided to purchase a set for myself.

These knives have an excellent design, look very sleek and stylish. Not the most important thing but hey who wants an ugly set of knives cluttering the counter.

They are extremely sharp with a comfortable feel. They have a great balance and weight to them. Some people might not like the rubberized handle design but I personally think they are better than most.

Don't get me wrong these are not top quality Henckel knives at a cheap price. They are bottom of the line for Henckels branded knives but as I said they are great for a beginner or even moderate chef.

This knife block is wonderful for people who are just beginning a collection of good knives. After years with only one or two "good knives" in the house we've finally replaced them all with a number of very nice Wusthof Culinar and Japanese ceramic knives...none of which we wanted to have out on the counter in a block! The Henckels 13-Slot In-Drawer Knife Tray is well crafted and all the features it does have are wonderful - the combination of longer and shorter slots, the center slot for a sharpening piece. My only complaints are similar to those already stated: there's no place for shears and there's not enough room for any steak knives if you actually have a decent assortment of regular knives. I definitely recommend this product, but if you have the room and a lot of cutlery buy two!

I really like this Henckels knife tray. The design is perfect and it holds all of my knives & steak knives in one drawer. It's so much neater than a knife block that sits on the cupboard in the way.

It's substantial and attractive. The knives are off the countertop and beautifully stored. Thank you!
