ok peeler, not the bestThis is fine as vegetable peelers go, but the blade isn't as sharp as I would have preferred.
ExcellentPerfect for my hand size. Easy to hold and use. I'm amazed that more peelers aren't shaped like this! No more problems with my fingers getting in the way.
Peeling used to be my most hated task!I cannot BELIEVE that my most hated task (peeling potatoes - or anything) is no not hated at all- this peeler is AWESOME - its even fun to use.
I raised 7 children (and fed their friends too) and when i peeled potatoes it was like peeling for some army unit....even after time went on and all I have left is one child (who doesnt even care much for potatoes...) the job was a hated one. Now I just do 3 potatoes or 4 at a time- but still didnt like to do it.
I ordered this peeler just because of what others said - and IMAGINE THAT!! I like it- I now cook potatoes- cuz I like to peel them...
There is very little that costs $6 that adds so much to my life!!! Everybody get one of these!

Mini, but usefulI ordered two of these ice buckets for a recent party I was hosting. When they came I was surprised how small they were - and learned my lesson to look closely at the dimensions before I buy.
Read the fine print! This is a cute, LITTLE ice bucket with the emphasis on LITTLE.
This is not a regular sized ice bucket, however it will hold enough ice for a small gathering. It looks nice too.

The Ice Bucket Cometh or a Penny Saved is a Penny Earned. As an ice bucket this piece of equipment does not get much of a work out by me since scotch never stays in my rocks glass long enough to benefit from ice. Be that as it may I do like this "Ice Bucket and Tongs".
I am a minimalist by nature so I like to keep my material possessions very utilitarian.
I use this ice bucket as a motorcycle helmet, mirror, ice-cream bowl, waste basket, minnow bucket for fishing, spittoon, salad bowl, porta-potty for camping or when I'm just to lazy to go down stairs, a fruit basket, garbage can, etc. You get the idea. It's well built and multi-functional. The tongs also have varied uses from a salad server to fishing my wallet out of the toilet.
By this, be creative and save money.

Best Cake Pan You'll Ever Own !!I totally love this pan!
I bake cakes all the time using this and other Hoffritz pans and they are absolutely wonderful. I was first impressed by the weight of the pan, the non-stick sufrace, and the even heat distribution. I noticed a remarkable difference in the quality of my cakes from the very first time I used the pan. Not only do my cakes look and taste great, I never have to worry about my cakes getting stuck to the pan or being lopsided.
I'll never buy a cheap pan again. It's really is worth the extra couple of dollars. I doubt I'll ever have to replace any of the pans I've bought from them. I also purchased the Hoffritz springform pans and 9" rounds, same great results.

So soThe only thing I find this slicer useful for is thick and thin slicing of onions. This concept is too akward for slicing any other vegetable that is not round. The french-fry cutter and julienne slicers require a lot of arm power and I'm just paranoid that I may cut my finger off. It's still tricky removing the different blades even with previous customer advice of lifting, then pulling. I like the bowl feature since I don't have a lot of counter space and I often end up slicing sitting down on my step stool.
Works but scarySharp-sharp-sharp. The force required either broke the food or got jammed until I figured out a solution. Place the item on edge to acheive the narrowest profile to reduce cutting effort. Cut large items into smaller profiles as well. Don't attempt to slice last remnant--you can't get enough traction. Rather, hand slice or turn on edge and be careful-careful-careful.
The bowl doesn't accomodate the cuttings of large stiff items as it hits the rim before being completely cut. Reduce the length or use the left edge which allows a little more length.

perfectTHIS SLICER IS SO EASY TO USE AND W/THE CATCH PAN THERE IS NO MESS. YOU CAN COVER THE PAN AND YOUR READY TO MAKE DINNER TOMORROW WHEN FRIENDS STOP BY.YOU CAN VISIT NOT BE STUCK IN THE KITCHEN.

easy to use and less of a messI prefer a box grater to the flat or hand-held models. They are so much easier to use and create less of a mess if you have limited counter space to work with or are trying to get semi-exact measurments. Plus they are great with kids - my two girls love to help out with the cooking and take their job of cheese grating VERY seriously. It's so much easier to clean up after their 'help' if their work can be isolated to various containers.
Lots better than the cheapo off the discount store shelfPurchased this in September after finally throwing out my old cheapo metal box grater that had rusted through. So far, no rust & I don't expect any because it is stainless steel.
The handy container that fits onto the bottom is great for grating cheese into when you only need a little. I also like the rubber edging at the bottom. It makes it fairly non-slip when not using in conjunction with the container. Be aware that this rubber piece does come off for washing. I didn't realize that at first as there was no "instruction" manual included.
I use a stainless steel scrub pad when cleaning this thing by hand. It has left some scratch marks, but it will chew up my Scotch Brite No-Scratch scrubbers. A tip: rinse off in COLD water right after using to rinse off as much cheese as possible. This will make it easier to clean by hand if you don't have a dishwasher. I say cold water because hot water will melt the cheese to the grater making it harder to remove. Try not to let cheese dry onto the grater as this will also make it more difficult to clean later.
Definitely a much better product than a plain metal one & it looks attractive to boot.

This "Hammer" Design is not the best.If you're going to get a "Hammer Designed" meat pounder/tenderizer, then this is a good one to get. It's hardy, sturdy, well made, looks good and I can see nothing wrong with it.
I just don't think that the "hammer design" is the best for pounding or tenderizing meat. Look at my other reviews to see what design I would recommend over this one. The reason why I don't like this design is because the swinging action is less precise. Look at all the reviews on this item - there's a lot of meat splatter going on. Why? Because there's too much energy being smashed into the meat. When the meat is splattering, it's tearing, it's disintegrating, and I think the meat is being damaged. It is possible to pound/tenderize meat without having it be such a destructive/explosive, not to mention, messy, process. Whenever there is splatters of meat flying around the kitchen, I see that as a sign of too much energy and to tone it down a little.
The other options for tenderizing meats is to use a flat meat pounder and/or a bladed meat tenderizer. Both options are a lot less destructive and a offer a lot more controlled environment. You can look at my other reviews to find these other items.
I also don't like this item because it's a uni-tasker. I can't think of any other uses for it other than to pulverize meat...or maybe as a weapon in a jam. Yet, I use my flat meat pounder for crushing dry bread for bread crumbs, graham crackers into graham crumbs, crushing garlic to create the allicin...
Conclusion:
If you must have a hammer type pounder/tenderizer, this one is GREAT. But if you're shopping around, you might want to look at other designs that offer more precision, smaller, easier to clean and store and can multi-task.

a great little gadgetThis tool is great. You MUST use plastic wrap to avoid a mess! This gadget got pork loin cutlets so thin and beautiful that rolling them around a stuffing was a pleasure not a chore! And if anyone know a hunter, it makes venison steaks fantastic! It is small so it stores nicely and fits well into the dishwasher. It is well weighted so it feels good in your hand when using it. It is easy to control, unlike the big, bulky mallet types. Give it a try, for the price, you can't beat it!
A nice piece of tool.Well I followed advise from the other reviewers and covered the meat with plastic wraps so that there's no mess at all and result is great. I'd like it better if they rotate the handle by 90 degrees so that the flat side rest in my hand.

Hoffritz Wine Saver usabilityI'm delighted with the functionality of this product. While doing an excellent job in bottles with openings that correspond to the stopper's measurements it is, however, too narrow for bottles with larger openings. A major shortcoming I found is that the black plastic material on the top of the stopper tends to break when closing the lock. Without the top material, the expansion effect of the stopper is decreased and becomes unsusable. Of the four stoppers I purchased, only one is still unbroken.
forget the corkI understand that the cork product itself effects the wine taste, however, replacing it with these items for just a few days does no harm. They are easy to use, clean, store and saves tons of time trying to squeeze the oversized cork back into a bottle.

opens cans well, pinches fingers, too!I ordered this can opener, hoping that the "opening mechanism" is stainless steel. I haven't had it long enough to tell, but I'm suspicious "stainless steel" refers only to the handles. It hasn't rusted yet though, only time will tell ...
It, has, however, pinched the $!!^ out of my fingers, almost every time I've used it. The first time, pretty bad, as I was unsuspecting. The problem is, the handles aren't thick enough, so you have "enough finger" left to wrap around the bottom handle, and be sitting in the space between the handles to be pinched when the can lid gives way and the handles smash together.
When the can opener is closed, the space between the handles is only about 6mm! The handles should be angled, so the space in between gets wider towards the end of the handles (where your fingers will be). (The can opener is OPEN in the picture on Amazon.)
If the handles themselves were wider, your fingers couldn't curl around as easily.
I give this a 2 because, finger-pinching aside, it does open cans well and easily. Has a habit of tearing up the top of can labels, though, and trying to get label shreds in your food. Even though it opens well, this pinching business HURTS and I wouldn't recommend it, at all.

ManlyI love this can opener. It works great for left or right handed people. It is really tough and heavy duty. I might buy another one in case this ever breaks, but I don't think it would be necessary. My husband likes it because it will chew through anything in seconds. It cuts like butter, and has a big gear and a good grip. The handles are nice and big so you can get a good grip on it, and it has a bottle opener on the top, which works great. I keep it in my favorite kitchen drawer.
The BEST kitchen product purchase I have made! This can opener is wonderful! It is very sharp so it opens cans so easily. Also, since it is all stainless, it can be cleaned in the dishwasher, which is the real reason I purchased it. When I my father used at my house he had to buy one for himself. I had been through two of the new "safe" can openers-one was manual which broke after a month or so of use and the other was an electric one which won't open but a few types of cans. So don't waste your money on those types. This can opener will be the last one you will need for a long time.

Built like a brick chickenhouseIf you, like me, desire well-made, sturdy kitchen utensils, buy this. My guess is that it could survive a nuclear attack unscathed. 'Just the right size for most cutting boards.
scraper-chopperI do a lot of baking and this scraper helps more than I ever dreamed possible. Deviding the dough, cleaning the bread board and other tasks that I always had to make do with other utensils are now done with my new scraper. I love it.
A "Must Have" for every kitchenI used one of these when I was a teenager working in a pizza joint to scrape dough balls off the pan so I could spin pizza's. Until recently I never knew how versitile these things are.
I use it constantly to keep my cutting board clean, scape rememants of one item off before chopping the next, I use the side to smash garlic cloves, use the rounded handle to smooth surfaces, and more. This thing is versatile, not just for baking.
For the cheap price of this thing, no kitchen should be without.

Fantastic!I had bought this to open baby food jars when my son started eating solids and have used it for everything from soda bottles to jars of pasta sauce since then. Three years later, my mother-in-law (who has arthritis) saw me using it during a recent visit and commented that she should get one. I gave her mine saying that I'd get another one. I didn't realize how often I used it until I gave it away. Being the mother of two under 3.5 I've finally gotten the chance to order another one and am amused at how excited I am about having one in my kitchen drawer again!
Terrific Product!!No more struggling with hard-to-open jars or carton lids. Fits everything from milk cartons to wide-mouth salsa jars. You just put it on the lid, squeeze the handles and twist.
Best invention since sliced bread!First time in 60 years I have found a jar opener that REALLY work, even if you have arthritus of any other hand or arm ailment.
