KitchenAid Review KitchenAid KPFP850PM Pro Line Food Processor, Pearl Metallic
I used to own the KFP670WH which was rated #1 by Consumer Reports and was great but unfortunately now discontinued!
I recently had to buy another food processor and saw KitchenAid had the "Tim Taylor" version of my previous model. I am quite disappointed with it and don't think it is worth the $450 I paid.
It is massive! Eats up counter space.
The shredder disk only comes in a 4mm version which I don't like for grating carrots or other similar vegetables. It is too coarse. They also didn't include reversible disks so you could increase your shredding options as you can with its smaller counterpart model.
When using the chef's bowl and the shredding disk, the outer bowl gets dirty on the rim so you still have to wash it. When grating carrots this is not good! Carrots stain the plastic so you end up washing two bowls.
Large pieces of carrots get lodged between the disk and the cover so you have to open the cover and remove the food.
I haven't used it extensively but I have contacted Kitchenaid and expressed my dissatisfaction.
Bigger is not always better

KitchenAid Review KitchenAid Pro Line Food Processor
I have a commercial kitchen and this is the perfect size for my small business. I love the flexibility of the 3 different sized bowls. Heavy duty and easy to use.

KitchenAid Review Simply The Best!
Once upon a time, I owned a Cuisinart that had a very large capacity. It was also very old. I sold it once I bought a KitchenAid mixer. I later regretted my decision to sell. It was intended that I'd use the mixer to do my dough kneading. I'm not saying the mixer does a less than perfect job at kneading, it's just that the processor does it much faster.

Although a food processor is extremely versatile, I find my greatest use for it was its dough kneading capability. I wasn't about to spend $800-1000 on another Cuisinart DLC-X and longed for something that had the power and capacity of my former processor.

What should come along but the KitchenAid Pro Line model FPFP850PM! It is about half the MSRP of the Cuisinart DLC-X/DLC-XP. The product description on this website is inaccurate. The motor is actually 1000 watts, rather than the 950 watts stated.
It's truly a workhorse of a machine. It simply won't bog down under a heavy load.
I'm looking forward to KitchenAid manufacturing yet more blades for this processor.

I started out with the Pro Line Waffle Baker which I've owned more than a year now. It also provides perfect results.

Hopefully, one day I'll own all of the Pro Line appliances that I feel I would like to have.

KitchenAid Review Nice grill
I had an opportunity to cook with this grill pan over the Christmas holiday. It is well made, it handles well on the stove top, and it heats pretty evenly.

Depending on what you are cooking, the stainless interior can be easy or a pain to clean. I gave it four stars because I think a grill pan might be better served with a non stick surface. For a saute pan, and for reducing sauces, I like a stainless surface. It is much easier to see what is going on there than with a non stick. For a grill though, non stick properties are more important.

One reviewer wrote that he thought non stick was a scam, and that it goes away within a few months. Nonsense. That might have been the heads up on cheap supermarket pans 30 years ago, but a quality non stick pan today will last for years, and cook a perfect omlette, or grill a perfect fish fillet. Think about the job at hand, and choose the tools accordingly. A glance at the pans used in commercial kitchens, or those used by the wide variety of TV chefs is enough to let you know that there are some jobs that are tailor made for non stick cookware. Eggs, cheese, fish, and general grilling are among them.

KitchenAid Review perfect searing pan
I wanted a pan I could heat to the smoking point and then keep it there for searing tenderloin. This pan works great. The low sides actually reduce splatter at this temperature since most grease is carried into the air in other pans by steam formed on the sides of the pan. The rounded grill ridges make cleaning easier. Put the pan to soak and use a little stainless polish if necessary. It's a keeper.

KitchenAid Review YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
I WILL MAKE THIS SHORT AND SWEET, THE PAN LOOKS GREAT, COOKS GREAT, AND THE FINAL PRODUCT MOST IMPORTANTLY, TASTES GREAT!

KitchenAid Review Neat, but lower your expectations
I purchased this because I wanted a bundt pan, but don't have the room for the space-consuming pans. (All of my pans and oven-ware need to fit in the oven drawer). It's great on that count because I can roll it up and squish it in, and it pops right back into perfect shape when it's needed. I've only used it twice so far, in the year or so that I've had it. The first time I used it I didn't really grease the pan as I should have because I thought it would pop out regardless. Not true, and we ended up with a crumbly cake. Also, there was a chemical smell (not on the food) but in the air while cooking.
I just used it again last night for making a Chocolate Sour Cream Bundt Cake. (A great recipe from America's Test Kitchen!) The recipe came out great, and I greased the pan as I should have (with butter and cocoa paste) and the cake popped out perfectly. The real drawback was that it took much more time to cook. I ended up baking it (nearly twice as long) for an ADDITIONAL 40 minutes - beyond the 45 minutes it should have taken!! I'm not sure if it's that the silicone is somewhat insulating or what. So anyway, the pan works well, but the cooking time may vary from the recipe.
And yes, put it on a baking sheet to control the wobble while placing in the oven, and to aid in removing from the oven.

KitchenAid Review KitchenAid Silicone Fluted Cake Pan Review
I have seen other brands with a stabilizer for more support. Use of a baking sheet will help. Silicone releases very easily. The outer edges of the finished cake come out much paler than when using a metal pan. I prefer the darker look.

KitchenAid Review Innovative, looks great, woefully impractical
Bought one of these in my search for a good cheese grater to replace my sadly inadequate KitchenAid KG301 rotary model (see reviews on this before buying...they capture the problems well). After using this once, you have to ask: "what were they thinking?" The cutting disks can fit into the device both ways though only one way cuts, the disk is difficult to line up properly in the unit, and frankly doesn't cut well with my main use for parmigiano reggiano...it almost powders it. Worse, the circular hand motion needed to grate is fine for, say, a pepper mill for which only a small amount is needed. For this, the repetitive twisting and small yield are unacceptable.

For those of you like me who have and love the superb and unbeaten KitchenAid stand mixers, this device and the rotary grater are not in anywhere near the same quality and usefulness league.

Another cheese grater of no value to me.

KitchenAid Review Don't buy appliances from Amazon!!!!!!
Goodbye to buying on Amazon, atleast appliances or electronics! Buy from anyone with a better policy for higher cost items. Amazon is using their wonderful 30 day return policy [may be fine for books] but not for an $800 espresso machine! Within 6 months, the Kitchenaid "on" button broke - not a great sign for quality. Though Kitchenaid will exchange it, we don't see this as Kitchenaid's best product. Most stores would credit you, but not Amazon. We've spent alot of money with these guys, but not now.

KitchenAid Review Great unit with problems but an excellent warranty.
Purchase our proline espresso maker over a year ago and since then we have received three new ones. There have been many problems but KITCHENAID has been awesome. Read the warranty and they stand behind it. We have also purchased proline burr grinder and blender and soon waffle maker. We've not had any problems with any of our other proline equipment.

The espresso is about as good as it gets for an under $2k boiler and yes we are pickly coffee bean snobs.

Since we do not usually tollerate these kind of problems we addressed the "how can you afford to do this" question with kitchenaid and they have assured us the problems have been fixed with new models being shipped June 06.

We would HIGHLY recommed these kitchaid products even though our espresso maker is dead waiting for our new one to arrive some time in June.

KitchenAid Review Terrific espresso machine!
I've owned one for the last two years, and it's a terrific machine. Makes great crema, had a large water reservoir--the separate boilers for espresso and frothing are also really nice. The customer service and support are really strong as well.

KitchenAid Review No mechanical problems, but there's just no oomph!
We got this mixer for our wedding almost five years ago, and never had a day's trouble with it. So why the low review? The thing just doesn't have the juice I think it should have. Whenever we had family members or friends happen to use the mixer, we're making cookies or whipping potatoes, every person commented on how slow this mixer is, even on the highest speed. I thought they were kidding until I was home this Christmas and used my mother's. I don't remember the brand, it was kind of forgettable like a sunbeam or oster, but man, did that thing churn on the high speeds! Every time I turn mine on now, even on the high speed, I am just frustrated because it doesn't perform like it should for the price kitchenaid wants. I give it two stars because it's always performed the tasks at hand, eventually, and we've never had any mechanical issues. But only two stars because when I start using other's mixers, at friends' and family's homes, I'm extremely disappointed in the strength this little machine doesn't have. It's not even a close competition, and I'm investigating other brands after hearing even the kitchenaid 9-speed mixer houses the same motor as this one.

KitchenAid Review good for cookies, not for egg whites or cream
I have had this mixer for several years, and it works really wonderfully for cookies and most other needs. Doesn't burn the motor out, or even heat up. Very easy to get the dough off the beaters.

But I can't get it to really whip egg whites or whipped cream. They will eventually start to look right, but stay a bit on the runny side. I think the thin blades on the beaters just don't get enough air into the mixture.

I'm thinking about just getting a cheap hand mixer with thicker blades just for cream and egg whites.

I wish this mixer came with a whisk attachment or something -- then it would be perfect.

KitchenAid Review Great
Great mixer and well worth the money. I have had this for over two years and wouldn't think about buying anything else if the need arises.

KitchenAid Review Use according to instructions!
I had read a number of negative reviews about this product that had me a little concerned. I bought it anyway. My advice is: follow the instructions that come with the device if you do not want to get your fingers caught on the reamer. When preparing the fruit, be sure to only cut off the tip and do not try to cut the fruit in half. You also need to maintain a firm grasp on the fruit as you are pressing it over the reamer. When I did this, the juicer not only worked well, but I also got a 'fruit cup' from the shell that I was able to fill with ice cream and serve!

KitchenAid Review Works fine, but be careful
The citrus juicer is excellent -- quick and efficient, although it does allow just a little pulp to come through. Be sure to place the fruit evenly on the cone.

My citrus press came with my 11-cup food processor and it came with a lever arm that protects your fingers. Occasionally, I use mine without the arm and sometimes I hurt my fingers, sometimes not. You have to be careful and pay attention to what you are doing. This beats a separate appliance any day and it is dishwasher safe.

If you buy the attahcment from the Kitchenaid site, you have a choice in buying one with or without the lever arm. The lever arm is $10 more, but I think it is worth it.

KitchenAid Review Love It!!!
After reading all the negative reviews I had serious doubts about buying this juicer but I did it anyways. I think it's wonderful. I didn't have any of the problems that were stated in other reviews. I simply cut my lemons in half and pulsed the food processor and in no time I had enough juice. I didn't hit the reamer with my fingers at all. Highly recommended!!!
