I love good Italian wine, but try to limit myself to one glass a day for health reasons. I purchased this gadget at a local wine store and assumed that meant it was useful. That was a big mistake!

This gadget doesn't do anything including seal the wine in the bottle when stored on its side in the wine cellar. Some of the time a bottle on its side won't leak, but it is just a likely to leak. I tried buying another set of stoppers and having my husband seal them as well as myself. No change made a difference. Sometime they work, and sometime they don't.

Additionally, when you buy a nice Brunello or a Super Tuscan do you really want to risk it become an expensive bottle of vinegar, I don't.

I purchased the wine stoppers for my foodsaver and am much happier with those. At least they don't leak. Although I do finish the bottle as quickly as possible just to sure.

You couldn't pull it or push it - like it had gasket slip loose inside or something. You can't take them apart to see so we just bought a new one thinking it was defective. This one lasted less than 2 weeks. Worked great, the wife tried it one day and POOF, it wouldnt push or pull. I won't be buying them again (at least not with this wife).

The vacu vin wine saver works great, it keeps wine fresh in the refrigerator for weeks. Also it is very easy to use.

I am surprised by the unanimous 5 star rating for the product, I thought there might be at least some four, since the plastic cutting blades isn't really the best of its type.

I saw that Vacu Vin have come up with a stainless steel version of the slicer, I hope Amazon can offer this version.

I figured I would take the time to review this item...because when I got it I thought it was the coolest thing ever. It does do exactly what it say it can do...though it would be a lot easier is it was powered. My arm hurt a bit after because I needed to force it down with a lot of pressure into the pineapple. All in all...I do like it!

I can't believe how amazing this gadget is. I am so impressed it does exactly what is says and you have no wasted pineapple and an easy clean up!

Tila has a great product but these canisters stink they crack in a week of use. Don't buy them. Get a mason jar. I was injured and can't talk when I emailed them they said I needed to have a friend or family member call them if I wanted help. That is bull. What ever happend to equal access for the disabled. Take your business elsewhere.

I like the air tightness in this product. It keeps my coffee beans fresh. If I have trouble with the seal leaking, I clean the rim of the container and wipe of the rubber seal. It seals and holds the seal for days and even weeks when I'm gone!

....this is a simple tool to keep your coffee, nuts, beans, whatever, fresh and unexposed to the air. It is extremely simple to use, has worked for me very well since I opened the box. There are not that many moving parts, folks, so read the directions. Put your coffee in, put the lid on, pump the air out. How hard is that?

I love their wine saver product, and use that all the time; what a great gadget! And I drink a lot more coffee than wine, and am at least as sensitive to the quality, so this sounded pretty promising. Unfortunately, I found it didn't work worth a darn. I was never able to get it to hold a seal satisfactorily, and so the whole effort of using this became a waste. Almost any container (ziploc, tupperware, mason jar, etc.) would be better. Sorry to say that, because the idea has promise and I like their other product quite a bit. I would recommend not getting this, based on my experience.

This works better with beans than ground coffee, and I think the coffee stays fresher, but it's hard to tell after a week or two in any container. Ground coffee tends to break the seal and defeats the purpose of the vacuum. Washing the container out or using water to help keep the seal is a pain.

I'm surprised no one else has come up with the idea of a vacuum-sealed or nitrogen-charged coffee container. It could be a very good idea.

I also recommend buying two containers (holds one pound). You don't need the new pump if you have an existing Vacu-vin wine pump.

I have been using the cannister for 2 years with excellent results. I use it to store a small supply of ground coffee, and am ordering a second cannister to store whole beans after I've opened the bag.
I, too, experienced the "losing the vacuum seal" that some reviewers have noted. In my case, I grind exceedingly fine, and if I allow some of the find-ground coffee up on the cannister sides where the seal fits, the seal will not hold. I routinely just run my finger around the inside top of the cannister after adding new grounds to remove the thin dusting of coffee, and have not had the problem. I do occasionally rinse the lid with water, but very rarely. I highly recommend this product.

Did exactly what it was supposed to do and comes with different sized parts for smaller or larger fruit.

Overall, I think this product is pretty useful and far less work than cutting pineapple with a knife. I purchased the version with multiple cutting sizes to accommodate different sized fruit. If you find cutting pineapple a chore and have room for one more gadget in your kitchen, you will probably appreciate this product. I really like this product for the quickness and ease of "gutting" most of the fruit from a pineapple. However, it's effectiveness does depend on how ripe your fruit is and whether the pineapple is firm or soft. If your fruit is pretty ripe and softening, then this product is a little bit messy and may "crush" your pineapple. If your fruit is quite firm, you may feel like you're getting an arm workout. But either way, with this item you can be snacking on the the heart of the pineapple fruit in two or three minutes - which is pretty cool.

Very easy to use, 3 sizes to fit the size of your pineapple. Just cut the top off, start twisting and a few seconds later you have the whole pineapple cut into rings. I am very pleased with my purchase.

As the other reviewers have also pointed out, this item works just like Vacu Vin says it works. It fits easily into any wine bottle, allows for a nice smooth pour, and keeps you from dripping. This is particularly nice with any red wine. As most wine enthusiasts know, red wine can stain practically anything. I recommend this product, as well as all Vacu Vin products I've tried, to anyone.

If you enjoy wine and/or serve it for guests, then the Vacu Vin crystal wine servers are an essential accessory. No need to belabor the point - they just do exactly what they advertise every time. The rubber seal keeps the server securely in place; we've never found a bottle that didn't accommodate one. Don't be misled by the product name - the servers are made of plastic, but that just means that they're easy to wash/care for and they've held up through a lot of use with no discoloration or other problems. As with many of the Vacu Vin offerings, these are a superb solution at a very reasonable price.

The Vacu Vin crystal wine servers are much better than using foils - no drops of wine on clothes or tablecloths!!!

As a reluctant cook who loves good food, this is a major discovery. Moreover, judging from the three tries I've had at it so far (meat, fish, chicken), it lives up to its hype. The flavors of the marinade not only are suffused throughout the fibers of the meat, but they're peaked. That is, powder spices that usually go barely noticed, assert their presence like never before. What's more, the moisty succulence is something I've tried to achieve for a long time. Anyone who is not getting these results might not be doing the vacuum part right.

In my anxiety to try new marinade ingredients, it's likely that frozen dinners will become a thing of the past.

The best home cooked meat I've ever had. In fact, if it weren't for my poor presentation skills, I'd rate my recent experiments among those from the best restaurants. Really, really good. One warning though...use the vac times that they suggest. I ran some pork chops through 3 20 minute cycles. The meat was totally disguized by the marinade. So, listen to the directions, don't buy their overpriced spices, and enjoy chicken again...or for the first time. Great product.

I was disappointed in this item because it has no insulation. For me the greater need is to keep a bottle cool thruout the meal. This will do that OK, but then don't expect it to cool down that second bottle you had not planned on drinking. I'm planning to keep my eye out for one of those foam covers people use on beer bottles, but in a size big enough for wine bottles.

We live in a warm climate, and this cooler is perfect for keeping pre-chilled whites nice and cool all through dinner when we dine outside. Since our "room temperature" is about 78, it is also perfect for bringing reds down to the 72 they are supposed to be before drinking. Another reviewer complained it didn't work on a second bottle of wine, but since this product works by dropping a frozen vacu-vin chill sleeve into the cooler then screwing the bottom back on, it is also easy to buy more vacu-vin chill sleeves for 9.99 to swap out for the second bottle of wine. No, it won't bring a warm bottle of white to a chill, but for some purposes, this cooler is perfect. (A vacu-vin chill sleeve works just as well, but doesn't look as nice on the dinner table, and it gets a lot of condensation drips, too.)

Small, ugly & perfect. If you don't buy these now--you'd best put them on your wish list!

I had the opportunity to use these this past weekend and they work exactly as described. Wish I had known about them earlier.

This vacuum pump system works well enough to keep a bottle of wine good for up to a week or more. Having more than one stopper on hand is useful when you don't want to drink the same wine every night or when you live with someone whose preference differs from yours.

Having a set of extra stoppers is especially useful in the aftermath of a house party, when you may have several half-empty bottles of wine left over.

These stoppers last very well. They don't dry or crack, even when washed frequently in the dishwasher. It is convenient to have a stopper available even when the others are waiting for the dishwasher to be run.
