This is truly the very worst salad spinner I've ever used. I bought it because I'd had a Zyliss that worked beautifully for more than 15 years. True, it wasn't transparent and didn't have the sleek, modern look of this one, but it got the greens dry. This one is easy enough to use -- just pull the string for an appropriate amount of time -- not exactly rocket science. Result: alas, wet, wet, wet. The only way to use the greens is to hand dry them. Moreover, said greens would rot if I tried to store them in the refrigerator overnight. The Amazon rating system seems to require a minimum of one star; left to my own devices, I'd give the Zyliss Salad Spinner none!

This spinner gets out more water than the previous Zyliss one I had. The lettuce also lasts much longer before getting brown. I only use Romaine heads, I don't buy precut bags, and in the previous spinner the lettuce would brown in two-three days. The best lettuce is when you chop it and spin it and put in the fridge for an hour or more before using. If you eat it right away it seems soft and soggy, just like the other spinner. And the lettuce knife is worthless, smashes the leafs.

I love it. I couldn't live without it. You must have one if you enjoy Salads! But I did not receive my bonus lettuce knife. Could you look in to this for me.

I really liked this spatula in the beginning, but after just 6 months of very gentle use its head developed cracks and chipped.

I have several of these in my "gift" closet. They are great to give to ANYONE. I made carmels at the holidays. Stirring and stirring and stirring hot, bubbling sugar. I used this spatula so the sugar wouldn't stick and burn. Great tool. Cleans up easily. I like how the head connects to the handle.

I love this spatula. I have had no problems at all. They make a long one too, which is great for spreading frosting and getting into jars.

I am very pleased with the scoop. It is sturdy, heavy and dishwasher safe. It does not cut through super-hard ice cream as well as it claims to, but it does a great job otherwise. We replaced a higher-end scoop (the kind with the chemicals in the handle that are supposed to soften hard ice cream) and we like this one even better.

My zyliss ice cream scoop is one of the best purchases I've made in quite sometime. It is easy to scoop the ice cream no matter how frozen it is. It's the best ice cream scoop I've ever had - and I've had a few. It fits my hand perfectly. I have arthritis and don't have any problems using the zyliss scoop. In fact, I like mine so much I ordered 3 more - one for each of my children.

Listen to those other reviewers who have sung the praises of this scoop! The Zyliss Scoop goes through cold ice cream very well and literally drops off the scoop into the bowl. Well worth the money. How nice to have a tool that works well. Like others, I've tried many scoops that did NOT work - frustrating!! Do yourself a favor: stop bending your soup spoons and get a Zyliss Ice Cream Scoop.

I bought this press when i lived in Ireland and have used it incessantly for 3 years - sooo easy to clean and pressses the garlic perfectly. Good grip to it, easy to squeeze, fits the hand well. had to write about it - can't say enough about how great it is.

The large size means you can press lots of garlic at one time. These are very well made. My only gripe is that the blue plastic cleaner was eaten by my dog, and you can't buy a replacement. Even without that cleaner, the Zyliss is easy to clean.

I have been using this garlic press for over two years now and consider it to be the best press I have ever used! The well for the garlic is very large, accommodating more than one garlic clove at a time. When only pressing one or two cloves, you don't really have to peal the cloves, the pressing action does it for you! A little more hand pressure is required when pressing more than two cloves at a time. Cleanup is a breeze with hot soapy water.

The Zyliss Soft Skin Peeler is definitely an essential tool for the kitchen. I have used it to peel tomatoes, pears, mangoes, and ginger with excellent results. The swivel head makes it easy to follow the shape of the item, even the ginger, the sharp serrated teeth on the blade easily grips the skin, and the tip does a great job of removing bad spots from produce. I recently peeled really soft mangoes with it, expecting that it would be a mess, but the peeler took away the skin with no problem, and the mangoes were left intact. It's refreshing to have tools that aid in food preparation and that deliver consistent results. Anyone that uses soft skinned produce will appreciate this peeler. The impeccable performance and the easy grip handle make the process of peeling soft skinned fruits and vegetables much easier.

I certainly agree with the reviewer who said this peeler performed awesomely on peaches. (It also works nicely on nectarines and other soft fruit.) It also comes with a hard plastic blade guard that protects the blade when it's tossed in a drawer. Like others, I purchased this item for the wrong reason (in order to qualify for the extra $25 off an order of $125 or more), but I am certainly glad I did.

5/11/06: This peeler also does a fine job on ripe tomatoes (for those who do not wish to peel using the traditional scalding method).

Like another reviewer, I bought this somewhat on a lark, but we were granted an abundance of tomatoes and super-ripe peaches this summer and I was curious. The serrated blade really makes all the difference! Now that apples are in season here in Massachusetts, it's doing a great job on them, too - defintely better than my traditional paring knife (and I'm pretty good with the knife, but this takes off noticeably less fruit along with the peel.)

One word of caution: use this tool with care and respect, because that serrated blade is SHARP!

Amazon claims this item is Swiss made. It is Chinese made. Seems to work fine but I would probably have bought a cheaper one if I knew ths one was Chinese made as well.

This handy device works well to dry lettuce quickly so that now if I decide I get home too tired too cook I can make salad fast. The puul cord makes this work fun too. The only draw back is cleaning the cover. Water gets trapped and takes a while to dry properly. Otehrwise a neat little gadget.

Well, Now I don't have to dig for the corn holder, they lock together. Easy to find in the drawer now and I throw them in the dishwasher to clean them.. The handles are just the right size too.

I have used many different types of corn cob holders over the years and these are the best by far. They also nest inside each other so you don't lose part of the pair and they won't "stick" anything else in the drawer. I LOVE them!!!!!!!

I am still waiting to use this pizza cutter. Why am I writing a review now? Because I want you to know how poorly this is packaged. There is a round sticker around the entire blade, and it does not come off easily. The blade does come out of the handle for cleaning. That has not helped me to get this sticker off. They must have used the strongest glue they could find to attach the sticker. The sticker does not peal off. Instead it tears, and comes off in tiny bits. I picked at it for over half an hour. I gave up for a while, and put the blade in the dishwasher. I hoped the hot water and steam would loosen the label. It did not. There is still glue and bits of paper that I am still picking off. Although the blade is not 'razor sharp', I have to work carefully so I don't cut myself. So far this product has been a big disappointment. If I can ever get it clean enough to use, I'll write another review.

I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about with this product. I'm a total kitchen gadget junkie and so I was delighted when I received this for Christmas. Yes, it's more ergonomic to hold and it's a little easier for me to slice up small bits of pizza for my toddler, but it's not *all that*. The problem is the thing is so irritating to wash that I find myself just reaching for my regular pizza cutter instead of this one. Basically you have to take it out of its plastic case to wash it which can be rather tricky. I keep worrying I'm going to slice myself with the blade. Even putting it back together after it's clean is a bit nerve racking. Frankly all this business of taking it apart and putting it together sort of nullifies the ergonomic aspect of it for me.
I'd say if you already have a pizza cutter that you're happy with you don't need to bother with this thing.

Excellent item to have for the pizza fanatic! Makes cutting pizza extremely easy. Easy to clean as well.

I ordered this item last May based on the reviews. By September, it was still in back order. As I had already thrown away my garlic press because it got stuck all the time, I couldn't wait to get a good one. Well, I waited and waited and waited. I kept receiving emails from Amazon about it being in back order asking me to approve the order. I kept doing it (for 5 months) until I got tired of waiting. I ended up buying one at Target. It's a Chefmate, cost me about $6.00 and it works great. Very sturdy.

it does work great, however i think mine is missing the clean up piece. i ordered this on 1/23/06 and it did NOT come with the insert. however, besides having to use a toothpick to clean it; it works great. plus, there are only a few holes that clogged so it doesn't take forever to clean, however, i thought it would be super easy to clean. it isn't.

I have probably used 9 different garlic presses in my lifetime. The one I used before this one was the Kitchen Aid which didn't work because it pushed out the steel grate when the garlic was pressed-I returned it to the store. Then I bought this last year, the finish is still prefect, it works beautifully, the crushing is easy, the plastic thingy that cleans it tucks nicely inside without falling out-a little pricey but worth EVERY penny. VERY happy with this!!!! I wish I was a sales rep for this company.

a better can opener. I mean, what would it do better than this one?

First off I have to admit my bias towards Zyliss products. This company seems to get all the details just right, from ergonomics to quality of construction to design.

This can opener is no exception. It rests on top of the can rather than hanging off the side as with most other can opener designs. The cutting mechanism works its magic right along the middle of the pronounced ridge of the top edge of the can. The location of the cut is such that there is neither a sharp edge on the can or the lid. An added benefit is that the lid rests snugly inside of the can without falling inside - great for storing cans in the fridge for later use.

It is hard to visualize or explain exactly how it works, but it does work exceedingly well. I doubt that you will be the least bit disappointed...even after paying more than double than the cost of an average can opener.

OPEN IT UP, CLOSE IT WITH THE KNOB ON TOP OF THE CAN, TURN IT EASILY, AND OFF COMES THE ENTIRE TOP WITH NO LITTLE PIECES OF TIN FALLING INTO THE CAN. - Takes a little getting use to.
