Problem ProbeVery limited use of this product before it failed. Used on grill last and probe failed. "high" Temp reading and will not reset. Would not suggest you using or buying this product. Might be a great timer though!!
Worked onceThis product worked one time and then failed. Have tried it a couple more times, but the temperature reading never comes up.
It seems several others have had similar problems. I'm going to look for another brand and hope for better luck.

Not a bad product, if you are careful with the probeI first got a timer/thermometer as a Christmas gift, and loved the idea of it. Unfortunately the one that I got never beeped....well, it never beeped loud enough for an ear more than 6 inches away to hear it anyway. So I quickly got another one, the Pyrex Professional digital thermometer/timer.
For over a year it worked great. I love the fact that I can set the temperature for the meat in the oven, and the timer for the side dish on the stove. It has made cooking so much easier!
Then a few weeks ago I noticed when I first plugged the probe into the unit, without the probe in anything, it was reading 95 degrees. We have air conditioning, the temperature in our home is NEVER 95 degrees. So I put the probe in a glass of ice water, where it should have read 32 degrees, and instead it read 55 degrees. I thought it was broken and I would have to buy a new one.
So I started researching new digital thermometers, and ran across a review that said that most of the bad reviews you read are on account of the probe being ruined. I ran into the kitchen and found the probe from the old silent thermometer and plugged it into our Pyrex thermometer, and it told me the room was 72 degrees, exactly what our thermostat says it is.
Apparently the probes on digital thermometers are quite sensitive, and if you aren't very careful about getting the end that the wire come out of wet, water can get down inside the probe and damage the temperature sensor in the tip of the probe. Apparently that's what happened to ours, as we would often soak it before washing it.
Now that I know this I'm happy with my Pyrex thermometer again. It would be nice if they could make the probes so that they weren't so easy to damage, which is why I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5. After all, the probe has to be washed, it would make sense to make it water tight.
Other than that this has been a great tool. I was never a fan of pork or white meat poultry. This thermometer, along with stoneware to cook the meat on, has made me a fan of both. No more overcook, dried out pork or chicken breast! I haven't eaten a chicken thigh in I don't know how long, now that I can make juicy chicken breasts that are cooked just right. And no more guessing when I cook a roast. I think this tool is one of the best inventions for the kitchen, and now that it's reading the correct temperature again I love my Pyrex thermometer!!!

Handy Little Suckers! These magnetic hooks are the greatest. The magnet is very strong, so the hook doesn't slide down when you put something on it. I have them on the fridge, the oven, and the dishwasher. I hang dish towels, oven mitts, and all kinds of stuff on them. Once you have them you won't be able to live without them.

TimerI Received it in perfect condition and the delivery was faster than I expected. I like the product... only inconvienient will change the battery because of the scrow.
cheap and cheap -- but adequateFor under ten bucks, you can't go wrong. Note that the timer only counts down, not up. Also, the magnets are in the middle of the back of the timer, so when you attach it to your fridge and press on the bottommost buttons, the timer wobbles or falls off. The workaround is to attach a couple of little rubber feet or a stack of masking tape to the lower part of the back of the timer to stabilize it, but the buyer shouldn't have to solve a design flaw like that.
But again, you get what you pay for, and as long as you're not paying all that much for this, it's perfectly adequate. Cheap workmanship is fine, as long as the price is also cheap.

good design & works wellThe ten-key number pad is a good improvement on the usual timer that requires pressing a button repeatedly until the desired number of minutes appears. The other buttons are clearly labeled. This timer allows setting seconds as well as minutes, which many timers don't. The only criticism I have is that you need a screw driver to change the batteries, a minor annoyance at worst.

Good, but can be improvedThis is a good timer, and gets all the function I need - clock, count-up and count-down. It helps me a lot, especially when counting down ebay auctions.
The only drawback of this timer is: when you use it as a clock and accidentally touch the "HR", "MIN" or "SEC" button, THE TIME CHANGES!
I owned another similiar timer before, which is cleverer: the clock time changes only when you press "MEMORY" and one of the "HR", MIN" or "SEC" button at the same time. I guess this timer can be improved in this way as well. Other then this, it's a great timer.
digital timer and clock memory featurethis timer is great. quite a few of our games have broken timers and we couldn't play the games without a squabble. it is also great when you are working in the garden, you can set it and know when it is time to come in.

Handy, but not durableThis item is easy to use, but does not last very long. Luckily, it is inexpensive, so I don't mind buying replacements
Taylor Timer reviewTeachers are using this timer for reading screening assessments. Easy to use, the beeper isn't overpowering and is perfect for our use. We need both the minute and second feature, resetting is easy to use and reliable.
Timers for reading classThe timers work fine (it's been 3 months). I bought 8 for my reading class for timed readings. The beep is not too loud, at least it doesn't seem to distract the students. I like how it counts up and down, which most timers don't have. It's also great that it counts up to 99 minutes. The Pyrex timers only count up to 20 minutes. Definitely would recommend it.
