Cookware Brands Review satisfied
I just bought this Griddle today. The first thing I made with it were hamburgers. Immediately the hamburger fat started rolling down into the drain and accumulated in the little catch. I have never had healthier hamburgers. It helps to have a well vented kitchen though because mine isn't. I have heard of doctors recomending this grills to patients who need to eat healtheir for the reason stated above. I kinda wish I bought an electric griddle like this sooner. The standard griddles that go on the stove top don't have a drain. Plus the electric griddles have the drain and they heat evenly -- unless of course if you buy a cheapo no-name brand electric griddle.

I didn't give the griddle a 5 star because I feel that the cord/temperature control should have been on the front so it's easier to see it. Some people might want it on the side though because it keeps the electric cord out of your way. Not only that but the manufacturer could have made the griddle thicker. It doesn't cost that much more it's just the damn bean counters that cut back everywhere to make the products as cheap as possible -- as much as they can get away with.

Another major issue is common with MOST but not all electric appliances like this one that use electric-resistance heating to work. Once again the bean counters made things cheap again and so this particular electric griddle and many others have a small cord with no 3rd prong on the plug for the "ground". Having an appliance like this one that uses 1,500 Watts becomes many times safer if it is grounded using a cord with 3 wires and a 3 prong plug for the ground. But in order for the manufacturers to make more money and by keeping prices down they went the cheap route and utilized the 2 prong plugs with paper thin cords that will melt if you leave the unit runing too long. They cords can melt and start off an electrical fire quicker than you can say "live tomorrow".

Electric space heaters at 1,500 watts have had that problem for decades and it's only NOW that manufactures are being required by law to use the safer grounded cord that are both thicker and with a 3 prong "grounded" plug. So if you are going to buy a space heater NEW make sure it has a "Ground", that way you know you have the updated - safer version which is about 1,000 times less likely to catch fire and burn your house down.

I say it's about time the LAW steped in to protect consumers against greedy corporations for the electric space heaters case.

Now when will the law step in and mandate safer cords for electric griddles sold in the US of A?

So PRESTO, sell me an electric griddle with a safe "grounded" cord and I'll rate it a 5 star!!!

After that happens, the next thing you can do is make your products in the USA so the unemployed will have jobs once again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I try my hardest not to buy your products made in China, Singapore, Thiland, Tiawan, Bangladesh, India, Mexico, and Haiti but sometimes there is nothing I can find made in the good o' USA for a certain type of product like an electric griddle.

Cookware Brands Review Elegant Simplicity
I really like this design. It has a slight raised lip running around the outside edge which contains any batters, grease, or other liquids which might run over the edge and create a mess; the grease drain is only on the front edge and is treated with the same sturdy non-stick coating as the rest of the surface, making for easy clean up. Indeed, the lack of plastic attachments make cleanup easy, and I really like the simple design, a very large cooking surface, two plastic handles and a removable plastic grease catch.

The only thing keeping me from rating it a five out of five is that I would have liked to see a thicker aluminum used, the base is only about 2mm thick, though I've been unable to find anything thicker

Cookware Brands Review Best griddle you will ever own!
In 1970 I was given a set of Presto waterless cookware along with a pancake griddle. At that time they didn't have non-stick griddles. Through the years the handles broke, but the grill fit over my stainless steel sink, so no problem. In 1999 I figured it was time to replace it with a new one. I really loved it because it never stuck and once again I could rely on it. In 2002 I started a Pancake Breakfast to raise money for our club. It started with my Presto grill and soon I added a second one. Over the next 18 months we raised $3,500 with those two grills, serving pancakes, french toast, bacon, etc. My 3rd grill is still going strong and puts out our Sunday breakfasts at home. It is so refreshing to be able to depend upon the quality of an appliance these days. Thank you Presto!

Cookware Brands Review Great item though price sucked
I love this steamer. It can take a small amount of vegies. They come out crisp and warm. I bought another one for $19.99 the day before. Amazon jacked the price right up on me WAH! I bought it anyway. Cuisinart is awesome cookware.

Cookware Brands Review Excellent Steamer for the Price
I highly recommend this steamer - it matches perfectly with any of the Cuisineart Chef's Classic pots and works flawlessly for all vegetables. A steal.

Cookware Brands Review Nice and Roomy!
This steamer fits perfectly on Cuisinart's 4 Qt saucepan. The lid seals in every bit of steam. I used to always have to add more water when steaming batches of corn-on-the-cob, but since no steam escapes here, I can make several batches non-stop. I also like the fact that the steamer is wide; that means that the food will cook evenly (instead of other steamers where the stuff at the bottom gets overcooked and the stuff at the very top gets undercooked). I've only used the steamer five or six times but so far, there's practically no sign of dullness or staining - maybe just a little sign of dullness, but I'm more interested in function than appearance. Washing it immediately will keep it stain-free. Overall, an incredible deal for $20.00!

Cookware Brands Review Looks and Cooks Great!
The cookware set cooks evenly. The set conducts heat well enough that your stove can be used on much lower heat settings than cheaper sets. The pots and pans are beautiful and can be hung beautifully. Make sure to follow the directions on how to clean the cookware and it will look good for years to come.

BTW... the handles stay cool when cooking. However, I would still suggest that you use oven mits with them.

Cookware Brands Review Looks great, performs well - a bit of work to clean
I bought this set from Amazon over a month ago. I live alone and have cooked rarely (about 4 times) since I bought it. I bought it because:
1. Stainles steel looks great
2. It was a good brand at a depply discounted price.

I did know before buying that stainless steel cooks slowly and needs a lot more patience than cooking with non-stick. I had also heard that cleaning is not as easy as with non-stick. Here are my comments:

If the pots and pans are cleaned as directed, i.e., by soaking them in hot soapwater immediately after cooking, most stains/residue can be cleaned very easily.

If the pots and pans are dried with a towel after washing, they stay looking great, especially if the washing water is hard water, as in my case.

If you are frying dry stuff with very little oil (such as Indian breads), its had to not have any stains in the pan. These oil stains are dark, tenacious, and take a lot of work to remove. Two options you have are:
1. Use "Bar Keepers Friend" cleaning powder (available at WalMart for less than two bucks for more than a month's supply) and a lot of elbow grease to remove the stains. This powder works great and is safe.
2. let the stains be and enjoy cooking. Dont worry about how good the pots and pans look. If looks are very important, maybe you should cook in non-stick and hang virgin stainless steel pots and pans to show off your kitchenware.

Also, as another reviewer mentioned, the outside finish is a mirror-smooth finish. This means, if you use any rough scrubber, you will have fine scratches. Its sometimes unavoidable on th einside of the pan, since you will want to use a good scrubber to get rid of oil stains.

Ive never put them in the dishwasher, dont think I will.

Overall, if you follow instructions, great set:
1. Never cook on high heat; have patience.
2. Wash soon as you finish cooking.
3. Wipe dry after cleaning.
4. Dont lose sleep over minor scratches and oil stains, they make utensils look weathered and nice.

Cookware Brands Review As good as All Clad without the price
This is a great cookware set and a great value. If you are considering stainless steel cookware, this is the set to buy. I own All-Clad and Cuisinart pieces, and the Cuisinart has the same heavy construction, riveted handles, and even heating as All-Clad. The Cuisinart actually looks a little nicer because the exterior is shinier. As another review wrote, the handles are a little akward to use, but for the price, this set can't be beat.

Cookware Brands Review Great Griddle
I use this griddle all the time. I was a little bit bummed when I saw the same griddle at Kohl's for about 1/2 price! Works great though.

Cookware Brands Review Presto Cool Touch Electric Griddle
We have had years of experience using Presto products and knew that we wanted to stay with the Presto product if the style and features were suitable...they were! We placed the order and in just several days we received the Griddle, much sooner than we expected. It was as advertised except there was a very small chip off one end of the plastic. We called Presto and they immediately shipped the replacement part which took less than 15 minutes to install using a 1/4" nut driver. The Griddle works perfectly and has already proven itself during several breakfasts for houseguests. Amazon.com is a good place to shop and Presto has a good product that they stand behind.

Cookware Brands Review An Old Friend Indeed
We have had this griddle for about nine years. It's been virtually perfect. After a GREAT, GREAT deal of use the non-stick coating is finally wearing a little thin in spots, but I'm not a faithful non-stick utensil user - sometimes I cheat and use metal utensils on the thing and I also use SOS pads, which I'm am sure are a no-no, just because they are handy in the sink when I'm washing the griddle. The grease cup catches all the grease, the top is perfectly sized (not too big, not too small), I LOVE this griddle. I cannot praise this griddle enough. Simple, reliable, durable - a true old kitchen friend indeed. Enjoy yours as we have ours.

Cookware Brands Review Indispensible, but doesn't last forever
I have owned four of these Presto aluminum pressure cookers over the years. They work great, particularly for homemade soups and stews. Great homemade chicken soup in 15 minutes? Yes! And you'll save a lot of money on fuel also. Just bear in mind, as with any inexpensive pot, it will need to be replaced after a few years of regular use. The rubber gasket needs to be lubricated regularly and replaced frequently, otherwise the pot won't seal or cook properly. Over time, the screws holding the handle on will loosen as the plastic they're imbedded in wears away. At this great price, though, you'll definitely get much more than your money's worth.

Cookware Brands Review Great Cooker
I am satisfied with my cooker for the good price and the quality.

Cookware Brands Review Presto 01282 8 - Qt. Alum. Pressure Cooker/Canner
Does exactly what I wanted it to do: simple to use, med. sized, good quality food. Easy to clean because of the weight. Will use to can a small quantity at a time which works with a smaller garden.

Cookware Brands Review No stars
What a disappoinment! I bought this for my sister last Christmas, we tried it one night and never ever could get a marshmallow just right; it either wouldn't brown or caught on fire in an instant. I never returned it and could never find any satisfactory address to write to the company and voice my displeasure. I am getting ready to give it to charity and hope someone can figure it out.

Cookware Brands Review Useless!
I picked one of these up at a thrift store for $5, and it *still* wasn't worth the money. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty little set made with decent quality parts, BUT it's not any fun to use because it's just so small and slow. My friend and I set it up while watching *Napoleon Dynamite* and I'll swear we got four S'mores done before the movie was over. Basically, a can of Sterno just doesn't generate enough heat to really melt the marshmallows and the chocolate. If you get everything really, really close to the flame, you might make some progress, but then everything starts smearing all over the metal and making a mess. Also, for any kind of party, even one with two people, the little ceramic containers for the chocolate, marshmallows and crackers are quite small. You can only fit four crackers in one of the two rectangular dishes, and maybe two or three bars of chocolate in the other, which means a lot of refilling over the course of the evening if you're really trying to feast on S'mores. I WISH this had been a fun party set, but it's just not effective for making S'mores indoors!

Cookware Brands Review Pretty good
Although i did not buy this exact product, i bought one very similar, the one i got just came with a fondue insert. But on to the review.

After reading other reviews, i can see that people think this is a waste of space, and if you want to make smores, stand near the stove. Well, i hate to break it to you, but that is not the fun party activity you would expect it to be. Everyone standing around a stove is more of a fire hazard than this could be. This thing is a very good apliance if you have a small gathering. The side dishes on the lazy susan is a good idea, especially since i hate getting marshmellows out of the bag, and with the bag near the heat, they usually melt with the plastic. That is not a good snack.

Overall this is a good product, the one i got was from linens and things.

Cookware Brands Review Great, heavy-duty performer
This is a very nice & heavy-duty double boiler. It fits snugly on the Cuisinart pots and sits nice & level. The scooped out bottom makes it very easy to manipulate the ingredients.

High quality and sturdy constructions. I can't think of anything I would change.

Cookware Brands Review super super
This is the best griddle for two people - Love it and am glad that I purchased it.

Cookware Brands Review The Best Lidde Griddle there is!
We have really enjoyed our liddle griddle. Its convenient to cook anything. It's especially good for breakfast - pancakes, bacon & eggs. But we have also ended up cooking hamburgers or porkchops on it when the gas grill has run out of fuel. The size makes it easy to clean and store. We are ordering our third griddle shortly - we use them so much that the surface wears out. Now, don't get me wrong - our first griddle lasted about 5 years, the last one about 2 years. Again, we use it all the time. It really is one of the best purchases for our kitchen we have ever made.

Cookware Brands Review Nice griddle that will not take up all your counter space!
I bought this for my Grandmother who cooks for two. It is small and compact enough to put in your cabinets and doesn't take a lot of counter space while you are using it. Its the perfect size to make pancakes, eggs and bacon! We used it to make grilled cheese, and they came out perfect! This would be great for singles, college students, and anyone who likes great things in small packages!
