Cuisinart Review Save your money
I've been using a large Cusinart for over 10 years. It is marvelous, so I decided to get the mini-mate chopper for smaller jobs.

WRONG IDEA!! This is a horrible little machine. It won't grind more than a couple of seeds at a time & forget chopping! The grinding unit won't rotate most of the time.

It's going to the Salvation Army as a donation.

Cuisinart Review Almost perfect....but
This is a great little appliance for making baby food. I use my larger food processor for the bigger jobs, but it doesn't process food down to as fine a texture as I need so I finish up with the Cuisinart Mini Mate.

It's also great for things like chopping peppercorns, making almond flour or almond butter out of whole almonds. You could also make your own peanut butter.

The only thing I don't like is that you are not supposed to use it for more than 3 or 5 minutes a day. I guess it's because the motor runs at such a high speed (I mean really high), that it can't sustain the rpm's for too long. Fortunately, it doesn't need to run for very long to get most jobs done.

All in all, I wouldn't do without it.

Cuisinart Review Must have for 1 year old
I love this because my baby can eat everything we eat now, just chopped up a bit. Cheaper and healthier than baby food!

Cuisinart Review Great item though price sucked
I love this steamer. It can take a small amount of vegies. They come out crisp and warm. I bought another one for $19.99 the day before. Amazon jacked the price right up on me WAH! I bought it anyway. Cuisinart is awesome cookware.

Cuisinart Review Excellent Steamer for the Price
I highly recommend this steamer - it matches perfectly with any of the Cuisineart Chef's Classic pots and works flawlessly for all vegetables. A steal.

Cuisinart Review Nice and Roomy!
This steamer fits perfectly on Cuisinart's 4 Qt saucepan. The lid seals in every bit of steam. I used to always have to add more water when steaming batches of corn-on-the-cob, but since no steam escapes here, I can make several batches non-stop. I also like the fact that the steamer is wide; that means that the food will cook evenly (instead of other steamers where the stuff at the bottom gets overcooked and the stuff at the very top gets undercooked). I've only used the steamer five or six times but so far, there's practically no sign of dullness or staining - maybe just a little sign of dullness, but I'm more interested in function than appearance. Washing it immediately will keep it stain-free. Overall, an incredible deal for $20.00!

Cuisinart Review Much better design than DGB-500
We used to own the 12 cup version (DGB-500) which had a sliding mechanism for getting the filter out and no matter how often you cleaned it, somehow some coffee grounds would end up getting in there causing it to stick. Furthermore, that unit was pretty flimsy, so you will inveriably end up breaking something while trying to pry it open one day.

I waited for over a year to write a review for the DGB-300 to make sure it could stand the test of time. So far it still works great. The part with the grinder and the filter are connected so that grounds can't get stuck in places it shouldn't. Also, no annoying sliding mechanism. The top lifts up, although you may have to slide it out from under your kitchen cabinets when you fill it, but I don't mind. This was a much better design and for less money, too.

It doesn't come with a resusable filter, but I found one on amazon after a little searching.

Cuisinart Review Best coffee maker I've ever used!
First of all, there is no better coffee than that ground immediately before brewing. Second there is nothing as good as reducing clutter on your counter, and this machine puts two machines - grinder and brewer - on one chassis. Bravo!
Third, you have the flexibility to brew from ground coffee, not just beans. And when you are brewing your coffee just roasted to your liking from Northwestern Coffee Mills right here on Madeline Island in Lake Superior, coffee drinking never was so good!

Cuisinart Review great reliable coffee maker
Owned this coffee maker for over 5 years now, been happy since day one.

Automatic grinder along with good beans really makes a difference in the quality of the coffee.

Have not experienced any of the hinge breakages other users mentioned. And the labels are still on for mine, maybe I don't clean as rigorously as others. The only cleaning I do on a day to day bases is basically cleaning out the grinder and filter. This takes running water over the 4 parts (grinder, grinder cap, filter and cover), which easily lifts out, in the sink.

Yes, the day to day cleaning is more involved than a coffee maker that uses coffee grounds, but it's not any harder (in fact easier) than using a separate grinder for the beans.

One additional note, I use paper coffee filters along with the wire mesh filter provided for stronger flavor from the coffee beans.

Cuisinart Review Good looks poor performance
The design looks great. It does a wonderful job of hard boiling eggs. Don't even attempt to poach eggs, however. The plastic holder used for poaching eggs is so thick and heat resistant that the bottom of the eggs stay raw while the tops get overdone.

I bought mine a few weeks ago and just threw it away.

Cuisinart Review Worst Egg Cooker on the Planet
I'm sorry, I just purchased this and it's a nightmare. Water leaks all over the place, I've burned myself 2x with the steam coming out the top, inside gets all nasty and disgusting, 'poacher' is useless because it's so flimsy. The water leaking is the worst - we have to either wrap it in paper towels or put the thing in a pie pan to catch the water. I'm throwing it out as soon as I can buy a different one. It's awkward to store -- the cord system is awful. Much chintzier in reality than it looks online. A waste of money.

Cuisinart Review It does what it does perfectly
I love this thing. I've had mine now for 2 months. I bought it as a replacement for the toaster/egg poacher combo unit that never did work right. This works perfectly every time. I use it most often for 1 soft boiled egg. I use a whiskey jigger (that I just keep under the dome when not in use) that holds the exact amount of water. I use this thing every day and it never fails me.

Cuisinart Review Cuisinart Cookware
I have really loved this set. It looks great, cleans easily, and I love cooking with it. You really need to use a lower heat setting when cooking, but once I got used to that I haven't had any problems.

Cuisinart Review Cuisinart Chefs Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12 piece cookware ser
After 40 years of marriage, I have finally found cookware that lives up to its description. I enjoy cooking with these pots. They cook evenly and are a breeze to clean. The handles do not heat and feel balanced and safe while handling them.I even like the glass lids that allow me to see what's happening without lifting the lid.
I just recommended them to my daughter-in-law.

Cuisinart Review Can't use with DLC5 unless ordering adt'l part
Amazon recommended this accessory when I bought the DLC5. After receiving it I found that the spindles are permanently attached to the shredder and slicer blades that came with the unit. (I'm not sure how you store those very efficiently!) Now I have the adt'l slicer blade with no spindle. I have to do some research to find a spindle see if it will fit the DLC5 food processor. I'm in limbo!

Cuisinart Review Works Great on my 11-cup DLC 8
My Cuisinart processor came with a 4mm slicing disc. I aim to collect all of the DLC 8 discs/blades. This 6 mm blade works great, but I noticed it really isn't much bigger than the 4 mm. It makes a great backup blade in case the other one is dirty. Love this stuff. Great price too at $19.95.

Cuisinart Review Slicing Disc
The disc works properly and does what the company shows it can do. I would recommend this product to any one

Cuisinart Review Cuisinart Breadmaker
I cannot express how disappointed I was in this breadmaker! It looks great but functonally it is totally below par.

I have been baking bread for the last 20 years, mostly by heavy duty mixer or hand, but I use a breadmaker for the occaional 2 pound loaf. Well, we just moved and I left my breadmaker in the old house, still in storage. I bought the Cuisinart, because it has a great name (standing for quality I thought) and it looked fantastic. I baked one loaf, easy, just white, and it worked fine. I wanted to bake another one 2 days later and it was not working.

The LCD display did not come on, no error message to go by, just nothing. Plugged it into various outlets, to make sure it got electricity, still nothing. When I called the Cuisinart hotline I was informed that I have to return it (I only had it for 4 days), something is obviously wrong with it. No kidding!

I have my breadmixture in the bowl and now I am running out to get another breadmaker. I will not exchange it - I'll buy something else. I think for $150.00 you should get a breadmaker that works at least for a couple of months! Don't they test these things before they sell them?

Cuisinart Review 11 Cup Pro is the original, classic food processor
I have owned a Pro Custum 11 for over 18 years and it still works great. Last week I used the dough recipe from "The Best Bread Ever" by Charles Van Over "Great homemade bread using your food processor." The machine worked great! I retarded the dough in the fridge for a little over a day and had artesan bread pizza crust that was terrific. I also grated a half pound of cheese in just a few seconds and avoided using my knuckle buster grater! Par boil some potatoes until a little soft, shred these with a quarter of an onion and you have wonderful hash browns in no time that are fresh instead of frozen. Etc. Etc.

I felt compelled to speak up because of some of the whinny reviews of this product. Some people should stay out of the kitchen and order take out. This product has been in production since the early 70s with practically no changes---Just maybe Cuisinart got it right. Even after 30 years, Cook's Illustrated recently rated this machine a best buy in food processors over newer, slicker looking models for both its low cost and superb functionality and performance.

If you do alot of baking maybe consider getting the 14 cup version of this product. The added capacity and a little heftier motor would do better with the heavier whole wheat type of bread doughs.

Cuisinart Review Cuisinart or KitchenAid?
I am the unfortunate owner of a Kitchenaid 11 cup processor (I rated the Cuisinart 5 stars, but I really do not know). Seeing all the negative comments below about the Cuisinart, I sadly have to respond that all the flaws of the Cuisinart apply equally to the KitchenAid. Despite using the KitchenAid sparingly and with care, I have broken 2 bowls (at $40 + $9 S&H each) and one lid at $20 + S&H. Although the KitchenAid motor is well made, the plastic bowls are flimsy and poorly designed. In addition the bowl leaks down the side if liquid is blended. The lid is exceedingly hard to clean. Consequently, I am thinking of replacing my KitchenAid with the Cuisinart.

Cuisinart Review Good idea, poor execution
I really like the raised edges of these boards when working with wet ingredients, like cutting tomatoes. However, the thin material of the boards warps/cups, making the board rock on its center on the counter. This combined with the slippery nature of the material itself makes for a very frustrating if not dangerous situation while chopping. The only solution I have found is to put a folded damp kitchen towel under the board to stabilize it. Frankly, that's more trouble than it's worth. For now, I am just using them for holding ingredients after I have prepped them on a better cutting board.

Cuisinart Review Nice "serving" board, not the best for chopping/cutting.
I ordered two of these for use in my kitchen. As the previous reviews stated these are GREAT for serving. I agree that these are perfect for serving snacks, fruit, etc. Though these should not be considered anything more then light duty cutting boards. The lip they have make it near impossible to mince safely, and they tend to slide around quite a bit since they're made of plastic and do not have any rubber/cork/etc feet. They are fine for carefully slicing fruit/tomatoes/etc. Though if you need something to do some regular knife work around the kitchen I'd recommend the plain plastic cutting boards for a quick and cheap solution.

Tip: The label that these come with state to "use a damp towel between the counter-top and PrepBoard to avoid slipping". I went down to the local hardware store and picked up a package of the rubber feet you usually see on cupboard doors and applied them to each corner of the board right on the outside of where the plastic feet are and also placed one in the middle. This works well but raises the board a little, again, this isn't safe to do heavy mincing or anything on it since it'll easily tip if you apply pressure to the edge. The good news is it's not slipping around anymore!

Cuisinart Review Square Cuisinart PrepBoard
These are my favorite cutting boards. Cuisinart makes 3 cutting/prep boards, round, square and rectangle. I bought them in a set all together, I use at least one everyday. They are dishwasher safe so clean up couldn't be easier and they will not dull your knives, absorb odors or collect bacteria. They are all slightly raised around the edge so liquid will not spill on your counter, perfect for tomatoes or anything else you are chopping. I actually just ordered a second rectangle one. You can even use them for outdoor serving, fruit, cheese, etc. Highly recommended! A+!

Cuisinart Review What a disappointment!
I've never paid so much for a toaster and I've also never had such a lousy toaster! If you are toasting only one piece of bread, it browns only one side. Even when you are toasting two pieces, they are never evenly browned. Worst of all, the "bagel" feature -- which on every other toaster in the universe means that only the cut side will get brown, not the outside -- on this toaster means that the time will be lengthened to allow for the thickness. I am ready to toss this thing out, despite the fact that it was pricey and is nearly brand-new.

Cuisinart Review This is what I expected
This toaster is what I expected it to be. It toasts well and looks reasonably nice. Some of the buttons are a bit ' plasticy'.

Cuisinart Review Very Satisfied
We have toasted bread, bagels, and frozen waffles. It works just fine, toasting very evenly. This is the nicest toaster we have ever owned.
