KitchenAid Review Design Flaw
I don't understand how people can overlook any major issue which is not present in much cheaper coffee makers. The spout on the carafe, regardless of how the carafe is placed, leaks steam which collects on the body of the coffee maker and drips all over the place. It sizzles when it contacts the warmer plate, which is an unsettling sound, and it collects on the counter top ... the more time the more water that appears. And the carafe looks just plain goofy to me. I also have the Bunn, which has coffee grounds coverage issues (you will see dry untouched areas if you make a very small pot), the Bunn is a superior product in my opinion.

Kitchenaid claims to have redesigned the carafe lid to reduce the steam, I've ordered one and I'll re-review if the improvements are significant.

KitchenAid Review Worth it, but...........
I love this coffee maker. Coffee stays really hot and it is the way it's supposed to taste. I only have two problems...and don't know if anyone else has this....the "on" button sticks and I have to manually return it to upright position and , when pouring, the spout leaks all over. I can overlook those two things for the way the coffee tastes (the most important thing)...however....it can be annoying.

KitchenAid Review Worth the money.
If you're like myself, the 5 a.m. pot of coffee has to be simple.
Well designed makers keep it almost idiot proof. This one does a great job.Once you learn that the spout is not "drip proof", you will be happy with this as a purchase.

KitchenAid Review Poor Product Worse Customer Service
I received the 5 qt bowl lift stand mixer for a Christmas gift.

It's performance was pathetic from day one but we managed to limp along for six months before it quit altogether. It's elliptical orbit was supposed to make better contact with the food it was mixing, but instead it made contact with the bowl, scratching it and completely throwing the bowl off it's pins. You could not begin to hold the bowl on to the machine even with both hands! It would heat up, give off the 'hot electrical' smell and quit.

When we called Kitchen Aide, their *first* response was that it was 'operator error.' Sorry folks, but after being a professional cook, I am smart enough to snap a bowl in place over two pins and a button spring-snap at the back. It was insulting on top of having to cope with a mixer that did not live up to even the least of my expectations.

We called them and they sent a replacement. It worked two weeks, got hot and quit in the middle of mixing 5 cups of bread flour. And the same little snippy customer dis-service agent *argued* that a 5-quart mixer should not have to handle that load. For thirty minutes she tried to force us to believe that it was user error.

She then had the audacity to suggest we make *half a pizza*, wait half an hour and make the other half of the pizza. What planet does she live on? A $300 machine can't make a single crust pizza? Does that mean I make a half of a loaf of bread at a time, too? That machine should make half a dozen loaves of bread every day of the week for years for that kind of money.

We asked to speak to a supervisor and read the instructions right off of page eleven to her. The book said no more than '12 cups' of flour. So five cups of bread flour is too much when the instruction booklet says 12? Hummph! and hogwash! And they suggested that the machine should not run for more than six minutes at a time. . .Six minutes? SIX MINUTES?

What if I had been making a really stiff dough like pasta? Oh, yeah, that's right. . .it wouldn't make semolina pasta dough at all when I tried it. . .that's right 2 1/2 cups of semolina would not mix and knead on a $300 machine enough to run through the pasta extruding attachment we purchased separately.

How about trying to grind sausage in six minutes? That isn't going to happen in this life time either. Save your money and skip the attachments even if you break down and buy the mixer.

The Oster Kitchen Center we had mixed 8 cups of flour for 3 loaves of bread at a time at least 3 days a week for nearly 20 years with no complaints from it or me (plus using the blender, ice cream, food processor, shredder and grinder attachments) until I finally wore it out. . .not the motor, mind you. . .the connector that held the attachments to the motor was so worn down that it was unusable, but the motor fired up just fine. And, yes, it routinely made double batches of semolina pasta dough that I ran through my hand cranked Atlas pasta machine.

Yeah, they are sending us a new machine, but we don't think we should have had to go through this plus they do not guarantee that it will be any better than the two we have had already.

And we certainly should not have to had to argue for half an hour that a five quart machine can't handle five cups of King Arthur bread flour.

KitchenAid Review I love it...
If you're looking for a heavy duty mixer that almost belongs in a restaurant but is really for the home, this is the one for you. A couple of things to be aware of though. This mixer is a bit louder than the artisans. And because it has the lifting bowl design, it's slightly taller. You may want to measure the height of your counter-to-cabinet space. The mixer doesn't fit under some of my cabinets.

KitchenAid Review I would not buy a different mixer
If you bake heavy bread doughs or large batches, this is the mixer for you. I had a slightly smaller Kitchen Aid mixer, which I also loved, but the extra size and motor power of this model is invaluable. It is a beautiful machine. It is heavy and quiet, and very powerful, like an expensive luxury automobile. It is also very beautiful, I have it in red, and it is just gorgeous with my red le creuset pans (they have the exact same color and finish). It has a very useful feature where it starts out slow when you first turn it on, then gradually speeds up. This keeps things from slopping out of the mixing bowl. There are three things I do not especially like about this mixer, but you will notice I give the machine 5 stars anyway. The first problem is really minor. It takes some degree of coordination to get the bayonet at the back of the mixing bowl attached to the mixer. The other two problems stem from the top of the mixer not swinging up, as it does on the smaller mixers. Using the plastic chute accessory to load ingredients is a bother, so I soon stopped doing that. When I put ingredients into the bowl, it is kind of an awkward, messy procedure. Then, when you finish mixing, it is also awkward to get the beater out of your food product. If something were to happen to the machine I own, these problems would not keep me from buying the same exact machine again. For people who cook large batches, this mixer is just wonderful. If you don't really need the volume, you would be happier with one of the smaller mixers, the top of which swing up.

KitchenAid Review Awesome bottle opener...
This is a great bottle opener....strong, sturdy, and only $3.96 everyday at Walmart. It'd do you good to pick it up there, rather than spend nearly $10 here.

KitchenAid Review The last bottle opener I'll ever buy!
I think you could do just about anything to this bottle opener and it would come out just fine. As noted by other reviewers, this opener has a wonderful substantial weight. It has Kitchenaid's signature quality and great color! Goes well with my other utencils and gadgets. Oh, it opens bottles very well too!

KitchenAid Review Worth the money!
Yes, yet another fan of this bottle opener. I bought a blue one and a red one. I'll never go back to the cheap-o kind again! Works like a charm and feels great in your hand. I'm very pleased.

KitchenAid Review Good blender until it breaks, and warranty = zero
I was very happy, until this blender broke. Was very careful with it, but after only 5 weeks, it was done. Called the "hassle free replacement warranty customer satisfaction center" and they said they would ship out a new one. Great!

Only 4 weeks LATER they called to say they can't replace it, they're out of stock, they will 'buy it back' from us. Gosh, they have them on their web site, but they can't ship one. Turns out, it will take 6-8 WEEKS to process our return, in addition to the week to ship the mailer, and the 4 weeks we've waited for the replacement to begin with.

13 weeks is supposed to be 'hassle-free' replacement ??

I will -NEVER- buy another kitchen-aid product, and I will encourage everyone to realize that their 'hassle-free replacement warranty' is absolutely worthless!!! Totally false advertising!!!

KitchenAid Review Handy, practical tool for a great price
I trust Kitchenaid's products completely, and this immersion blender is not an exception. I use this for blending soups and am pleased with the quiet motor and efficient results every time. The various attachments are handy and just about everything can be stored in the included Kitchenaid canvas storage bag.

KitchenAid Review Kitchen Aid Hand Blender.....a great tool
I used my new Kitchen Aid Hand Blender extensively over the holidays and it is a great tool. It's powerful, very sturdy, and not too heavy. Highly recommend.

KitchenAid Review Very nice peeler and zester.
I bought this about a year ago, even though I already own two other peelers. I've just never been happy with our other peelers though. They were both grocery store bought and they're just too skinny and wobbly. My hands would always ache after a short time. Peeling carrots for juice was basically torture. Well, not anymore! This thing is like the Cadillac of peelers. I can zip through a bag of carrots in no time at all. I even use it for peeling potatoes, which I'd always used a knife before. My mom fell in-love with it too, and I wound up buying the set for her for Christmas. The zester is also very nice. I've become very fond of Kitchen Aid's gadgets. They cost a little more, but I have found them to be rugged plus they feel good in your hands.

KitchenAid Review Very satisfied with the purchase, great grip, smooth peel
Very satisfied with the purchase, great grip, smooth peel.
And appearance is extremely sexy.

KitchenAid Review Best peeler ever!
This KitchenAid peeler is the BEST one that I have ever used!! I have used several peelers, recently electric ones which had been better than the cheap ones in the past. I happened to find a set like this one on sale, so I thought I would try it. Let's say that I now have two, and will always use it as long as KitchenAid makes it. I haven't used the zester that much, but I got good results with it also. One more thing: anyone who has arthritis in his or her hands like I do, this duo is perfect!

KitchenAid Review not as handy as I hoped
I have to admit that this is not as handy as I hoped. It is big and clumsy and it's a little too flexable.

KitchenAid Review Nice but not what I expected
Don't get me wrong, this is a very nice well made basting spoon. However there were 2 things that bothered me. 1 - the spoon itself was too thick, and 2 - the silicone made the spoon really flexible. Its probably ideal for replacing a ladle for soups and sauces but not for basting roasts (the thickness and flexibility prevents a good amount of gravy from getting scooped up).

KitchenAid Review Easy-clean finish
I have the four piece set of these silicone utensils, and have been very pleased with them. They are heat resistant, heavy-duty, and look sharp. They are slightly flexible, but I have not found this to be a problem. The best part is the wonderful easy-clean properties of the silicone. My other heat-resistant utensils always look icky and need to be scrubbed with a scouring pad to clean the textured finish. These look great right out of the dishwasher! I've had them for a year and they've held up great. The spoon is a nice size and great for ladling soups, etc.

KitchenAid Review Not good
The wire broke off as I was slicing my first slice of chedder cheese. Needless to say, I do NOT recommend this cheese slicer. Last I checked, they're supposed to last longer than one slice. Maybe mine was faulty...but regardless, I expect better.

KitchenAid Review Works well
Cuts very easily. However, it's not easy to get that last half centimeter due to the shape of the part holding the wire. Not really a big deal, and a common problem to this style cheese slicer (only style I've never had this problem with is the paper-cutter-style cheese slicer...the one with the board and the hinged slicer).

KitchenAid Review Excellent
A very multiuse tool. It cuts different kinds of cheese ina very smooth way. If you have a party, it's wonderful to prepare hors d'oeuvres. It cleans easily.

KitchenAid Review Less Work With Better Results
I have only one complaint about this rolling pin: that it wasn't available thirty years ago! The first use of this Kitchenaid Nonstick Rolling Pin proved its vast superiority to the more traditional pins I've used, and subsequent experiments with other pins confirmed it. Its increased heaviness does more of the work for the cook, without being too heavy for delicate doughs. The increased circumference allows it to contact more of the food to be rolled. The nonstick surface resists sticking nicely, and its handles are much easier to hold than either the ball-bearing type or the stationary ones. In short, this pin allows the cook to get on with the job, and to do it better.

KitchenAid Review Joyous in Jersey City
I recently added this product to my KitchenAid collection and it looks wonderful. It glides effortlessly with it non stick base and has what I feel is an appropriate amount of weight in case you want to hit your husband upside the head. lol... Great accent piece for any kitchen.

KitchenAid Review Sturdy but poorly designed, difficult to clean
I've been using this food processor for a few months now and have noticed several things about it. First being that it's really sturdy, all the pieces and bowls seem like they'll last forever.

However, all the blades and bowls are impossible to get clean. There are so many notches, rims, and little crevices that are impossible to get a sponge into. It's probably OK if you intend to put all the pieces into a dishwasher, but if that's not an option for you, then I'd recommend another food processor.

The other thing that's annoying is the electrical cord is really short.

All of these flaws are things that could have been avoided with a bit of foresight by the design team.

KitchenAid Review Great machine.
I bought this two weeks ago and returned last week for replacement. So why I am still giving it a 5? Well I used for four times and it work great. Much better then my Cuisinart DLC-2011 Prep 11 plus on Pasta Dough making. Because the Cuisinart DLC-2011 Prep 11 plus dough blade will lift up and it will not hold in place. Which give me so much headache I got to stop many time to push it down. The KitchenAid never have such problem. Beside it is much more powerful. So why am I return it for replacement and not for return? Because last Sunday when I use it the dough blade got stuck. I can't remove it from the base. So I return it for replacement but I really love this machine and even the blade for some reason can't be remove I still want to give it a second try. I hope it is because I was unlucky and got the only bad one. Since I also didn't see any other people complain about the blade stuck problem. And I do see other complained the Cuisinart DLC-2011 Prep 11 plus dough blade life up problem.

KitchenAid Review Beautiful, powerful and quiet!
I received this processor in remarkably short time and have been exceptionally impressed by the quality and performance. It is a large machine. I was surprised by the size and weight, but it still manages to fit on the counter under the cabinets and looks wonderful.

The accessories are plentiful and the storage case is useful for keeping all the additional blades neatly organized. The chefs bowl can only be used with the disc blades (the multipurpose blades only fit the large bowl and mini bowl).

As large as the machine is, it's remarkably quiet. I quickly made a carrot cake (and cream cheese frosting), quiche and a loaf of bread without disturbing anyone else in the house. The speed with which this machine processes is stunning. I have run all the components through the dishwasher multiple times taking care to turn off the power heat option if any pieces were near the heating element to avoid damage.

The widemouth feed is large enough to take an entire large potato. Enough said.

I'm still getting acquainted with food processing, but if you want a large, powerful and quiet food processor that looks fantastic, this is a great buy.
