Attachment PackThe grinder works great. The slicer/shredder is worthless. If you want a grinder, order it seperately. If you want a slice/shredder, order a food processor. The slicer/shredder did an awful job on onions, mushing them up, and dropping large chunks into the bowl. Celery had the celery strings all wrapped around the drum. It did do a good job on potatoes, shredding them nicely. You also need two pairs of pliers to take the drum off the shaft when you're done. And, a plastic spatula from my Braun food processor was great to scrape the potato remains from the drum.
Great item for the price I boughtThis attachment pack is great for my mixer. The four piece shredder turns out to be better than what I expected. At first, I think it would be made out of thin metal, but it comes out to be thick, strong metal. Also, the food grinder, wrench, and shredder housing look and feel like it was made out of sturdy plastic. The pouring shield is a two piece shield, although I want it to be a one piece shield...I guess it will do for now.

Oh, by the way, the attachment is still in its original box so I can't tell you how well it works, I am only telling you how it look and feel.

Great core set of KitchenAid accessories! This set provides the basic accessory tools for your KitchenAid stand mixer. All parts are very well made - even though I was a little leery of the plastic on the grinder, it appears to be well made and should last well. The shredder works well, and I found it to be much easier to use and clean than I expected.
Another reviewer mentioned that two pairs of pliers were needed to disassemble the shaft from the cone, but the socket built into the housing for that purpose works well for me (no tools needed). Onions worked fine on the shredder; does a nice job on shredding potatoes and squash! Some potato skins did work their way between the cone and the housing, but not enough to cause much of a problem (just needs a little care).
Overall, I am quite happy with this set. Cost is about $10 less for the set than I'd been able to find for just the grinder and the shredder separately, so the shield is a bonus.

Defective ControlsThis was a great toaster, until it starting turning itself on. After popping up the toast a few minutes later the heating elements will come back on. KitchenAid has a recall on their proline series with the same problem but there is no recall on this model, YET.

I just want some toast!Okay this toaster is a serious let down for me... this is another one of KitchenAids appliances that I have had a problem with, I buy direct from KitchenAid to avoid problems and what do a get a toaster that does not even make the same kind twice, I could of bought a $10 toaster at my pharmacy and got the same results.
With all the sensors and buttons on this toaster you think it would make decent and consistant toast but I find myself always having to fool around with the buttons! #2 setting should not give me burnt toast!
The only good thing about this toaster is the frozen setting - I have had excelent luck with that!

Really Good ToasterThe digital that I have is a great way to get perfect toast. If anyone burns there toast, it's not the toasters fault, they don't know how to cook!

Square Cake panThe pan is hard to handle if you are not careful. I have only used it one time, and I wasn't that impressed.
I find it just as easy to use a regular pan.

Silicone bakeware ROCKS!Need to bake something sticky and gooey? This bakeware will make your life easier! Nothing sticks to it! And, also a wonderful thing, storage is easy because you can cram it into a smaller space due to its flexibility!
Super Bakewear!I've made cornbread in it & my only "suggestion" is to be careful your food just doesn't slip right out of the pan after taking it out of the oven! Although flexible, the batter was nicely contained on it's way into the oven...I didn't need to put a cookie sheet under it for support. I think I'll buy some additional bakeware like this in the future.

UnhappyThe cap on the top of the blade is designed to be removed for easy cleaning. However, the cap with time releases inadvertently while the food processor is opertating. The orginal blade had to be recalled because the cap was small and consequently a choking hazard. Instead of redesinging the entire blade Kitchen aid chose to simply increased the size of the cap. Do not buy this food processor. It also appears Kitchen aid no longer manufacuters this model.
More a Slusher, than ChopperI have the Cobalt Blue, I am returning, 5 cup.
It is not a good chopper, seems low power, and does not really chop, in my opinion.
Perhaps I have a bad one, seems low power to me

Great processor!I thought it only fair that I write a review for this item as I have relied on the reviews of others many times before purchasing items in the past(including this one). I am very pleased with this processor. I am unable to notice any cosmetic flaws in this reconditioned appliance and it has been running perfectly. The size is just what I wanted and it also comes with a mini-bowl for smaller portions. It seems to be very well constructed and quite heavy for being fairly small. It is also very quiet. The price I paid was also very reasonable. I am once again happy with my Amazon purchase.

The is the same tray that comes with the grinder.Don't buy this thinking you're getting a bigger tray. It's the same little tray that comes with the meat grinder. Only buy this if you somehow broke or lost the one that came with it.
Not What I was expectingIt works fine except that the juices from the tomatoes leak out. Good for dry things but not for juicy items.
A must-have for big jobsThis tray makes big jobs easier. You can get by with the smaller one that comes with the grinder, but if you're gonna be making large quantities, save yourself some stress and buy this tray, it helps a lot.

OkThe wires on this wisk are too far apart for mixing shallow quantities. OK for deep mixing, though.
Useful & PracticalVery sturdy and practical every-day tool. I use mine primarily for eggs and sauces and I can say that it blends quickly and smoothly with very little effort, and I like being able to whisk directly in the pot right on the stove. Clean-up is also very easy and I even toss it in the dishwasher with no problem.
To me the only drawback is that the handle is a bit on the bulky and slightly heavy side. I guess that could have something to do with the fact that I have very small hands, but thus, the 4 stars. But if you give your whisk heavy use, then you might consider that a plus!
I really do highly recommend it.
Great Tool!Oh, how I LOVE this wisk! As the previous reviewer said, this one doesn't have that nasty little round thing at the top that does nothing but rust and get dirty. This guy really stands the test of a two-year-old running around and banging it on anything he sees. It's so much heavier and nicer than any other wisk I've ever used and it's just a fantastic purchase. Don't be afraid to buy this one - if a two-year-old can beat it up almost daily, then it's definitely worth the money.

Great for a every cook!I bought a set of 4 pieces (square pan, 2 round pans, loaf) and was hesitant about using them despite the comments that it was safe. The first cake I bake turned out wonderfully. The material is sturdy and maintains its form with whatever you put in it; everything cooks evenly, and when you take it out of the oven its cool to the touch plus it is extremely easy to remove whatever you're cooking from the cookware!! You can also use these to make cold desserts/foods! I absolutely love this!!! Its a plus that it comes in pretty colors-- so it looks good on the inside with your food and on the outside too!.
Throw Out Your Metal BakewareI think I saw silicone bakeware for the first time on Jacque Torres's PBS show "Dessert Circus" in the mid-90s I did some research and it was quite expensive back then.
Then while watching the Food Netowrk silpats started appearing everywhere. However, I think Marhta Stewart was first to introduce them to TV. I was given two as a present and, yes, they work as advertised.
But I didn't think much of the silicone bakeware until I saw a KitchenAid muffin pan on sale at HomeGoods. I figured for eight bucks, I could take a chance. Anyway, my muffins and biscuits (I've always made mine in a muffin pan) popped right out and were beautifully brown. So I invested in a full set.
For all intents and purposes, these are truly non-stick. The only time I have had problems is when I tried to turn something out not completely cooked through. Then the baked good spilts in the center with the top on the cooling rack and the bottom still in the pan. If the item has retracted from the sides of the pan, like it should, you won't have a problem.
Also keep in mind these are great for frozen desserts too. Make an icecream cake in the bundt pan or a semifredo (sic?) in the loaf pan. Just prress down and sort of peel the pan away from the item.
They are also a snap to clean. You can throw them in the dishwasher or just rinse them out.

Better than metalI baked two loaves of pumpkin bread, one in my new silicone loaf pan, the other in a metal loaf pan. The silicone one came out so much better, and was so much easier to remove. A little cooking spray before adding the batter and it slipped right out! I will definitely add more silicone to my baking collection.

Well madeI bought this so when I chop small items I can pick them up in one fell swoop. It does just that. I find it a handy gadget to have around. I haven't used it for the purpose for which it was made, dough, but I'm sure it would do just fine. It appears well made and I am not sorry I bought it.

Spend the extra money and get a better KitchenAidAccording to KitchenAid, when you adjust the mixer it should come in contact with a dime at the bottom of the bowl. No chance with this one. When I went into my local kitchen store and asked them about adjusting the mixer for this they showed me how to do it. I went home excited, finally!
Unfortunately, this model doesn't come with the same sort of adjustment as their better models.

I'm so disappointedFor fifteen years I've talked about getting a good stand mixer and my sweet husband went out and bought me this one. He bought it on sale at Cosco last Spring, then stored it until we moved back to the States from Europe and gave it to me as a housewarming gift in Nov. I've used it a few times but the paddle and whisk don't reach the bottom of the bowl and the screw meant for adjustment will NOT tighten any further. I can't get into the bowl at all while it is in the upward position... to scape or to add ingredients. I like to make crepes, which calls for adding sifted flour gradually over eggs while beating. It's impossible with this machine. I get a gluey mass at the bottom of the bowl, unmixed... and the batter is full of lumps. If I want to scape the bowl, (which is frequently necessary since the paddle or whisk doesn't reach all the way to the sides of the bowl) I have to stop the machine and lower the bowl each time, and even then, with the paddle or whisk attached, it's not easy to reach the sides of the bowl towards the back. You can't turn the bowl without removing it from the stand completely. You have to yank on the bowl and lift at the same time to remove it from the stand. This takes a fair amount of force to maneuver. It's impossible to remove the paddle or whisk without first letting it drop completely into the batter. The speeds are not variable enough. It seems to be either ploddingly slow or so fast that any liquid or flour flies out.
It's a monumental disappointment and I'm frustrated because it's been so long since he bought it, I can't imagine they would allow it to be returned. So, I still mix everything by hand or use my stick mixer and feel crumby about the big white doorstop taking up counter space.

12 years and still going strongThis is the absolute best standing mixer. I bake cakes, cookies, etc... a lot and 12 years ago, my husband bought this for me for Valentines' Day. Then it was over $300, and well worth every penny. I have actually never adjusted it, it works perfectly the way it is. When we were evacuated from our home last year due to a fire, 5 days later I went back and rescued my Kitchen Aid, and guess what? Good as new! I use mine several times a week and have never had a problem with it.
