We use this "pizza" cutter almost every day!!This thing is great!! We use it almost every day for all sorts of stuff. Not only is it great for pizza, but for garlic bread, sandwiches, pies, brownies....you name it. Super sturdy and very solid. Ours goes through the dishwasher at least 4 or 5 times a week and it's still in great condition. Well worth every penny. A great buy.
It's a beast! This is the monster truck of pizza cutters. Heavy, solid, sharp, it cuts through pizza better than anything I've seen before. This is a man's pizza cutter. You could edge your lawn with this thing. In case you're worried about losing a limb or ruining all the other gadgets you put in the drawer with this, don't be. The blade guard covers it nicely and fits securely. Throw away whatever wimpy device you're using now and get this - you won't be sorry.
Solid as a RockThis is an impressive pizza cutter... and the price is right, too. The cutter feels solid and safe in your hand and will cut through any pizza you can pull out of your oven (let alone have delivered).
You will be pleased by the quality.

chipped -- replacing partI'm replacing the original- on which the enamel chipped after 2 years light use. No metal or hard objects came in contact and I am very unhappy with the Kitchen Aid quality. However, this is the only choice now. It would be better if they made the dough hook from stainless steel.
I have the Artisan stand mixer, but next time would purchase a different brand. This hook is difficult to remove from mixer head and no fun to clean.

works fineI have this dough hook and find it to be very helpful in making bread. I hardly do any hand kneeding because this takes care of it for me. I sometimes have trouble with it nicking the bowl, but that has more to do with the height setting in the mixer.
Very SatisfiedI purchased the Accolade 400 a few months ago; it came w/ a CD video with a demo on how to use the dough hook. I followed the demo for myself and my bread comes out perfect everytime. I make bread about 3 times a week. I'll never go back to store- bought bread again. I've even made sweet and rye breads as well...the dough hook works wonderfully for me.

NICE!I am so picky about my knives---I want Wusthof but the price.....I've tried Henkles and other less expensive brands like Miracle Blade etc. but KitchenAid never fails to please me. The first time I used my new knives I was cutting pockets into partially frozen pork chops and ended up needing 6 stitches in my thumb! I do wish I had one more serrated blade, but other than that A+
KitchenaidLove it--fits on my counter and is a great addition to my red Kitchenaid kitchen

3 replacementsLet me start by saying I have many KitchenAid products and have never had a problem with any before the coffee mill. I received this for a gift and in about 2 years I am on my 4th mill - the first lasted 1 year and it went downhill from there. While they have been friendly and replaced them because of the motor stopping or a pin breaking twice, I don't think I should have to deal with this. They said if it breaks again they are going to either return the money or I will have to buy the upgraded model for an additional 100.00! (BECAUSE THEY TOLD ME THIS IS NOT A COMMON PROBLEM!) I just hope this one holds up (I'm not sure why. I'd probably be better off with the money, but I really do like it when it works!)
The Good, the Bad, and the UglyThe Good
My Parents had received a KitchenAid coffee grinder in the '50's for a wedding present. They used it for 15 years, sat unused for another 15 years and then I claimed it. Great blinder; it did end up shocking me every time that I turned it of and on so I got a Krups Fast Touch Blinder.
My father gave me a new KitchenAid Coffee Mile (black) for Christmas just like the one he received as a wedding gift. I was extremely surprised and happy. I gave the Krups to a girlfriend.
The Bad
On my second filling of coffee beans in the KitchenAid the machine got clogged. I used toothpicks to clean out the unit where it discharges the ground beans. That worked for the rest of that batch. Next batch clogged so I called KitchenAid. They asked if I used flavored bean and I told them that yes I mixed in 1/4 pound at times to my regular coffee. They told me that was a no-no, to much oil in flavored beans. I told her that there was nothing regarding this on box or the manual. She ignored my comment and instructed me to grind up some rice to clean unit. What a mess that made but effective in cleaning. However still was clogging up after each batch.
The Ugly
Machine got where it would grind about 5 cups worth of coffee and then clog up. This is not the same machine as my parents received as a gift (does looks exactly the same).

Beautiful But MessyMy husband purchased for me this lovely red Kitchen Aid coffee mill for Christmas. It grinds coffee with excellence but it is a bit messy. The way it is designed has coffee shooting out of a spout. If the spout clogs...which happens frequently, coffee sprays everywhere.
In an attempt to keep things clean, I have learned to turn the unit on, let it grind for about 10 seconds and then turn it off and clear the nozzle repeatedly until I have all of the coffee I need. There will often still be some debree to clean up dipite my attempts at controlling the flow of coffee. My old Krups grinder was much neater and cleaner.
On the plus side, the Kitchen Aid grinder has multiple settings and you can really tell the difference in taste from a heavier grind to a finer one. If it wasn't for the hassle of the mess, it would be the prefect coffee grinder. In all other respects it is great!

Maroon and MaroonedI was a little dissapointed when I opened the box to discover that the set was not actually bright red, as appears in the photo, but a dark red to almost maroon. The knives themselves are of pretty miserable quality. The shorter knikes are okay, but the longer knives are thin, flexible, and don't hold a sharp edge. Save your money and buy just one or two good knives.
Red Hot Knife SetI really love this knife set. Especially the rotating carousel factor. Also the wood block is not as hygienic, this model is easy to clean and keep disinfected. If you have the pot set, this will match your kitchen perfectly.

Best ice cream 'scoop' everLike other reviews say, this is the best ice cream scoop ever (well, "spade"). I've had mine for 2 years now. No matter how cold or hard the icecream/yogurt is, the spade cuts right through. I considered getting the type that has anti-freeze type liquid which supposedly helps. I'm so glad that I got this Kitchen Aid spade - it works far better than any other scoop that I've tried. The handle is perfect as well, and the whole thing is well-balanced.
My mother-in-law has the Kitchen Aid "scoop" version. It's good, but I'd give it 4 stars. If you must have round ice cream balls for an ice cream cone, then you could get that, however the spade works much better for scooping ice cream, cutting through easily and scooping plenty. You could still make a "ball" if you really wanted to with the spade.
Definitely 5+ stars. I'd pay twice as much for it if required.

super, deluxe, icecream scooper/spadethis is the best ice cream scoop ever! It will scoop the hardest icecream very easily. It does however only make BIG scoops so it doesn't work well for icecream cones. We just let the icecream soften after we use the spade so it's soft enough to put into a cone
The Right Tool for the JobAfter buying what seemed like every ice cream scoop on the market, we finally found perfection. The mechanical ones don't work after the first scoop. The ones filled with antifreeze work a little better but expose them to even moderately hot water and they're dead. We've had the Kitchenaid spade for at least two years and it looks just as it did on the day it came out of the box. Good for a lifetime and it costs less than the other scoops that quickly end up in the wastebin.

more than just for melonsYou can make tiny little balls of ice cream to put into a float with these, or use your melon baller to scoop out gourds and squashes for interesting appetizers. Makes it easy to get a nice round segment of just about any fruit.
Perfect Mellon Baller! Wonderful for fruit salad!Yet another perfect gadget from KitchenAid! You can make perfect fruit salad with this tool. It is very sturdy and has a large handle. It works great on watermelon, honeydew, or your favorite melon. You can easily make melon balls in minutes and you don't have to worry about cutting your self. I haven't tried it yet but I bet it will also work great with ice cream. Definitely a must have gadget for summer! Highly recommended!
As this was my first major purchase off of Amazon.com, and I was a little hestitant at first... But when the empire red Pro series one showed up in my gold box, I figured I should go ahead and get it. Between the $10 gold box coupon, the $25 off from the May sale, and other little kickbacks, I ended up only paying $170ish for it. Which is a lot cheaper than the department stores, and you don't have to lug it home. (NOTE: DON'T have it sent to your work address unless you have to, and if you're taking the bus home, forget about it!)
Since I signed up for Amazon PRIME (3 months free trial, thank you very much) I had my mixer sent 2-day air and didn't pay a dime for shipping. Score!
What the product images don't show you (which I found out) is that it comes with all your usual accessories - the flat beater, spiral dough hook and wire whip. These didn't come in white, but the ugly raw aluminum. It also came with the plastic guard, which isn't posted on the product description anywhere.
The machine is strong, durable and was able to deal with heavy doughs, whipped cream and even creating yummy tuna salad. It's easy to use, although since it's not tiltable it's kinda awkward when you're trying to take the bowl out. I would suggest buying another mixing bowl, so you can do more than one thing at once. I know a lot of people have to scrape the bowl to make sure everything is mixed properly, but I didn't have that problem at all.
A tip though: If the mixer seems like its banging against one side, you need to fix it pronto. Mine did that, since I didn't push the bowl down flush... So make sure it's not tilted at all.
Overall, I LOVE it. More to come as I put my KitchenAid mixer to use.
