Kitchen Aid quality - cheapened slightly by the new plastic pusherThe items seem solid and well designed as expected, although the new plastic plunger seems to cheapen the package. It is marketed as being more convenient and sanitary, but the wood gave it a quality touch. Another courseness screen for the strainer attachment would be welcome, and its recommended limitations in the literature seem a little offputting (niagara grapeskins (yes) versus concord (no)!?.
Works Great! So far we have only used one of the attachments and it works great. We have used the shredder and it is perfect for making things like slaw...
Magnificent...Quite an excellent assortment of handy tools for our kitchen-aid mixer. They're all a lot bigger than I had imagined too, so I was pleasantly surprised. Made in USA.

Expensive, but what a blender!Yes, it's pricey. But it's good enough that it almost warrants the hefty price tag. Everyone else has more or less covered it, but the blender is powerful, it blends everything to a smooth mixture in seconds, and it's pretty easy to clean. This is the first blender I've used that never leaves lumps of anything in my smoothie, no matter what I make.
If you can afford it, you won't regret the purchase.

A Joy To UseI felt a little guilty indulging in a high end blender when my plan was to use it only occasionally for making some sauces and blended desserts. But I got this mahchine a little over a month ago, and it's such a joy to use that I'm now using it every single day.
I've never made smoothies before, but now I'm hooked - I can't start my day without one. And this machine makes 'em a breeze. Frozen fruit, ice, dry clumpy powders - they all quickly blend into one smooth, happy, lump-free treat. I think you could probably make a granite smoothie in this beastie, and the granite would come out smooth and creamy, and the blender would just smile and say "What's next?".
The scalloped interface between the jar and the base means you can just set the jar on the base and blend - no twisting the jar to lock it into place or unlock it. A small detail, but it makes it that much more effortless to use, particularly if you lack strength in your hands/arms. The rubber lid fits very snugly, but is flexible, so it's also very easy to insert and remove. Again, no twisting. I can't imagine anyone finding that the lid slips - the rubber grabs onto the jar, even when it's only partially inserted. [The rubber is actually kind of yummy - I imagine Batman's sculpted rubber suit is made of the same stuff - Yum!]
Clean-up's a breeze: A quick rinse gets rid of all visible debris. Then just put in a squirt of detergent, fill halfway with warm water, and whiz it around on low for 10-15 seconds. I use a soapy sponge after that, but I'm a little...detail-oriented [those folks who call me "anal" are so obviously exaggerating]. (You can also just throw everything but the electric base in the dishwasher, but since I don't run the dishwasher every day, I hand wash it.) The sealed rubber buttons are also easy to wipe down, as well as safe in the (unlikely) event of spills.
This machine has actually improved my health by making it so delightfully easy to get my 5 servings of fruits per day. I've raved about it to friends, and I'd recommend it to anyone who's considering blenders in this price range.
BTW, here's my favorite drink so far, which I found on //chetday.com/freesmoothierecipe.htm: half a small, seedless watermelon, juice of 2 lemons, a sprig or two of mint, and 1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla. Whiz it all around for several seconds, then drink up. YUM!

The value is here...I read each evaluation prior to purchasing the KitchenAid KTA-KPCB348PPM. I particularly noted the "minuses" mentioned in one of the reviews.
--The writer's comment about "taller" is accurate, but I anticipated that with a commercial blender.
--I'm quite sure that the single color is offered to allow more efficient production - and I believe "pearl metallic" to be quite attractive.
--Evidently the unit delivered to me has a different lid. It fits well and there is certainly no "slipping and/or spinning."
--I find the unit easily cleaned and have experienced no problems in the dishwasher. However, if one leaves lumps of food for "flying around", I can understand the drain holes being clogged.
--I anticipated that the unit would not qualify for stealth missions.
My only complaint is a personal one -- I delayed far, far too long before making this purchase.

I love this!!!I have only had this a couple of month, but it is the most wonderful machine. It mixes cream cheese for cheese cake in a matter of seconds.I can't stop using it. I only wish it came with more recipes. I am hooked! I had to order the mixer and blender.
Elegant, huge time saver and fun to use, only paid $110.ooHad mine for a week. Already made salsa twice, tabulee, apple crisp. Saves tons of time. Looks great on the counter so it's convenient to use. The 2 MM slicing disk is very thin. eg think fingernail thin. But the apple crisp tasted good that way actually. Parsly for tabulee works great if you shove/pack it in the food chute and put in the slicing blade. It chops it actually in just the right sizes. When I used the chopping/all purpose blade this didn't work without making it more of a green goo. The slicing blade is great for parsley. I used the allpurpose/choping blade for the tomatoes and onions and works great. The 4 cup work bowl is very convenient and the 9 cup bowl stays clean. minibowl can't use the slicing/shredding discs. This machine is quiet, quality, top notch at whatever it does. Read directions carefully. It's not a blender, eg. if very thin batter, only fill 1/3 to 1/2, if liquid only fill to line which is probably only a cup or less, if thicker batter, can fill 2/3 full, if solid foods, can be filled. This is probably the case for all brands. I love it and will use it weekly if not more often. I plan to order the 4 or 6 MM slicer disc from Kitchenaid. Got mine for $110 including tax at Bed Bath and beyond. They matched Amazon's $129 price when I printed it out and brought it in and then I used my 20% off coupon.
It did the trickWe've had a Braun variable speed processor for 7 years and didn't think that we could do without a variable speed processor. We were wrong. The Kitchenaid base is heavy and stable while still conserving counter space. The 4-cup mini bowl is perfect for so many jobs, like sauces and dressings, that just don't need the large bowl. The motor is rather quiet in comparison to other processors we've used. The chrome is clean looking and complimentary to our decor. Clean up is easy in that we've used the mini bowl and the design kept the large bowl perfectly clean. We've orderd the blade box but have not received it yet. We've added Kitchenaid to our list of brands that we trust.

Very Satisfactory and Would Buy AgainAfter about 18 months of being used 2-3 times a day, this grinder is still going strong and has already lasted longer than any other grinder previously owned. It is powerful and grinds fast, the fill marks inside the steel bowl are really handy, and being able to toss the bowl and cover in the dishwasher is a plus. The design of the push down cover causes some ground coffee to spill on the counter everytime it is removed. If not for that, I would have rated it 5 stars.
Wonderful GrinderI have owned a number of grinders in the past and this one is by far the best. I grind everything from coffee beans to flax seed and it does a wonderful job on each. If I am doing herbs and I want to grind more than I can use at one time I put a sandwich baggie over the stainless steel container, grind and then just turn it around and dump right into the baggie. This method keeps everything nice and clean and I just use what I want and just put the rest it in the freezer or refrigerator for the next time.
I won't reiterate some of the positives of others but just add to a couple of likes and a dislike.
The blade can be replaced if needed.
Strong motor - 200 watts of power.
The only minor thing that I dislike is that it could come with a little longer power cord.

Finally; A GREAT grinder I have owned four previous grinders, including Braun, Krups, and two no-namers. All were frustrating to use, dirty looking in short order, and failed by breakage in less than a year each.
I love the Kitchen Aid BCG-1000. I bought it in black for cleanup ease, but it has features that would allow any color to stay much cleaner by design than other brands.
The grinder bowl is stainless steel as well the cutter blades. You twist the bowl and lift it off the motor to clean it. This simple rugged design allows you the ease of clean up by rinse and wash in the sink.
The grinding action is very very fast and very fine (I used semi-oily beans) ; full bowl in under 20 seconds, grinds very close to "fine french roast" as per "supermarket" pre-ground coffee...
If you are looking for a heavy-duty, small, easy to keep clean, good looking grinder, this is the one to buy.
I have seen several complaints of "electro-static charges" and other wild claims of grinds being flung everywhere. By past experience, I have always placed my grinders in the center of a glass dinner plate when using. Any stragglers get rinsed into the sink. Simple, no?

Very nice pasta making setI like the fact that the pasta maker sits high and it makes it easier to collect the pasta instead of a table top model.

Not Consistent EnoughI bought this for making espresso. I was trying to get the perfect 20 to 30 second shot on my Gaggia Classic espresso machine. I adjusted for espresso as described in the manual, then I found that the 7.5 setting was just right (7 was way too coarse and 8 was way to fine). You can only adjust by half steps, so 7.5 it was. Everything was peachy keen for a while, and then the grounds became too coarse, so I changed my setting to 8 which was about right but a little too fine. I found that over time, the settings change quite a bit, so you have to use 7.5 one week, 8 the next, and then back to 7.5. This is even within the same batch of coffee. I wish I could just set it and forget it. The change in grind between settings is also way too much. I would like to have much finer resolution.

100% better tasting coffeeWow. We are using the same water and the same coffee beans and we can't believe how much better our coffee tastes since we got this grinder. Our old grinder was a burr grinder as well, but there is really no comparison. I LOVE the glass collection jar because there's no static clingy mess. It seems to be thin, but durable lab (borosilicate?) glass which is tough stuff. I'd rather buy a replacement if I break it than put up with the daily mess and eventual discoloration of a plastic bin. It is large, for being a unitasker, but it's quite attractive so I don't mind having it on the counter.

Packaging -- Apparently No Longer An IssueI ordered/received this cookware set in mid-April 2006. The boxed set arrived inside a second brown shipping box -- there was no exterior indication as to the box's contents. So, there now seems to be privacy when ordering this product.
Personally, I'm quite pleased with the set. It's a minor issue that the cookware is darker (which some might find somewhat less attractive) than the picture seems to indicate. But, I've found it to be a good assortment of cookware that seems to work quite well. The glass lids are convenient for monitoring what you're cooking.

Excellent Set of Pots and Pans!I am very pleased with my purchase. The pans arrived quickly, and inside of another box for security and protection. The pans have the anondized surface, which makes them more resistant to scratches and wear. It's a sharp looking set of pans - very sleek with a contemporary look. They all have a rubberized grip on the handles so picking them up is easy, and the heat doesn't transfer to your hands. The lids are glass so you can easily monitor your food while it cooks. These pots and pans are NOT allowed in the dishwasher, however, because it will diminish their quality (which is common for good pans). So if you're the lazy type who doesn't like to hand-wash you may want to buy a different type of pan. Otherwise - I highly recommend these to anyone looking for a good set that will last years.

I LOVE my kitchenaidI LOVE my kitchenaid. It has made everything easier from shredded cheese to cutting veggies and grinding meat. It also makes the lightest and most fluffy chocolate chip cookies anyone could hope for. Powerful but not real loud, I was raised with this machine and then I bought my own. My Grandmother used it to make her bread and now I do too. There isn't much it can't do. Make sure to get the accessories, because you will use them. Durable in a variety of sizes and colors, this is a must have for any kitchen. I have had mine for several years without a problem and my Grandma has had hers for a long long time (almost since she was married) and the same, no problems.

8 years and runningThis is well worth the price. We received it as a gift, years ago, and it just keeps performing superbly. I almost wish it would break, so that i would have an excuse to get one in one of the new cool colors. But it is well worth the money.

Red HotLove it, Love it, Love it, beautiful red hot color, it's like a piece of art sat on my kitchen countertop. I've tried several recipes, my cakes been the most successful rising to new heights and lightness, also my British scones came out a treat a hit with the whole family. I encourage anybody procrastinating over buying a KA mixer ...go for it! it's a worthy investment. I have also just purchased the Mixer Bible to increase my repitoire of recipes, but basically all your oldie but goodie recipes will work just as well if not better using your mixer. I'm considering buying a grinder and icecream attachment, so I can make some of the yummy recipes in the book.
Dee's New MixerThis mixer was for my wife. It replaced a 15+ year old mixer with limited capacity. She baked two different items within 3 hours of delivery for our family and friends. Enough said.
fabulous findThe machine is top drawer. The only problem with the delivery is that it came in clear plastic so anyone could see what it was. I believe it should at least be covered in brown paper. Other than that, the item is in perfect shape and was the best price I could find by at least $25, thanks to the amazon $25 coupon... free shipping and no tax, I believe.... awesome!

Solid, sharp wheel replaces scissors or knives and has a great protective sleeveThis pizza wheel is heavy-duty and feels very solid in your hand. It's sharp enough to cut through a very hard/crunchy crust, and you don't have to worry about it skidding off the pizza.
An added bonus is that the protective sleeve extends about 1/4-inch beyond the wheel to protect the entire rim of the wheel. It fits snugly and won't slide off in the drawer. (The pictures don't show this very well and give the appearance that the sleeve covers only half the wheel--but rest assured it's better than that.) If you prefer to hang your utensils, there's a large hole for hanging at the end of the handle.
This wheel may cost a bit more than others, but it's worth it.

Whoah. This is the heaviest , most sturdy, pizza cutter I've ever seen. Awesome. It even comes with a holster that I can only assume can be mounted to your belt.
Best Pizza Wheel AvailableI bought one of these for myself and liked it so much I had to buy one for my parent's kitchen so I could cut Mom's veggie pizza. This is the biggest cutting wheel you can find and SHARP! No more dragging toppings across your pizza as you cut it! This wheel will practically clear Mt. Everest leaving all of your toppings where they're supposed to be. Pepperoni is sliced, not smushed and drug along. Pile on the toppings if you have this one - it can handle it.
Make sure it has the metal tip on the end of the handle with the hole - Kitchenaid is unfornately getting cheap and is skimping on product quality as many of the Kitchenaid feedbacks indicate.
