KitchenAid Review DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!
This product is worthless. Advertised as a good product for "blending up smoothies" ... this only works if you don't use frozen berries. Who can afford to keep fresh berries on hand all the time? We didn't know what was happening when we went through the first blender and had to get the blender piece replaced because the plastic disc behind the blade came loose and wouldn't even hold after my husband super-glued it, rendering the product unusable. The replacement part did exactly the same thing. We're now on our 3rd blender and have been advised by Kitchenaid not to blend anything frozen. This makes the product entirely useless to us. If you're blending mashed potatoes I suppose this is the product for you.

KitchenAid Review Also a great whip
I already had two diffrent brands of hand blenders (both house warming presents) and they worked fine. However, I bought this for the purely frivolous reason that it matched my other KitchenAid appliances (stand mixer, food processor, and blender).

When it first arrived I noticed it was a two piece unit, which concerned me. In my experience, switchable parts make for a weaker tool. However, it has held up just dandy.

It blends with the best of them, but what I really love is the whip attachment. It whips cream and egg whites in half the time of a hand mixer and its much more convenient for small quantities. Just make sure to use a deep bowl to avoid spatter because even at its lowest setting it kicks up quite a wake. The small bowl of a Sunbeam or Oster mix master is perfect.

KitchenAid Review Power!
I haven't really had an occassion to to use it much for actual cooking in the three months I've had it, but I was playing around with a sink of dishwater and it about yanked out of my hand on high, quickly sucking to the bottom of the sink.

This baby WILL do the job.

KitchenAid Review KitchenAid RKG25H0XWH 5-Quart Stand Mixer
Bought this after losing the old one (same size) in a custody dispute. Yes, a KitchenAid mixer is worth fighting for. Only negative is that this model (5 years newer) is not the same quality as in the past. Still works just as well - the construction is just cheaper.

KitchenAid Review A work horse
I really wish people would read the instruction manual before complaining about things.

Yes, the mixer starts off slowly. This is called the soft start feature. it is intentional. The idea is the mixer starts slowly and ramps up to full speed. This keeps the ingredients from spraying all over the place.

Yes this mixer is louder than older KA mixers. It has an all metal gear set and they are louder than the older mixers that have a nylon gear.

I make on average about 6 loaves of bread each weekend, stiff French and Italian style dough. This mixer has never bogged down, quit or failed in any way in my use for nearly one year.

You will love the spiral dough hook and the wider bowl.

I own quite a few mixers, 38 to be precises(OK, I am a little nuts) and the 4 I uses regularly the Pro 5+ is the one I use most. You will be pleased. But please, read the instruction Manual.

KitchenAid Review Junk
This chopper does a poor job, with a fine line between chopping and pulverizing, and takes way too much effort to chop a reasonable portion of most vegetables.

A complete disappointment for onions and bell peppers. A knife is almost as fast, yet effortless. Of course, the human ability to rationalize any decision they make leaves one wanting to say something good about the product, but this thing really is a piece of junk.

KitchenAid Review So-so, I suppose
I had high hopes for this product. It's definatly not as good as I expected. I had one of these years ago from some no-name company and it worked great. After years of use and abuse, it finally broke. So I replaced it with this, thinking it would be better because it's KitchenAid. This is difficult to take apart after using-I feel like I'm going to break it. It doesn't hold very much. It's also a pain to clean, almost impossible if you don't clean it IMMEDIATLY after you use it. I used mine to chop garlic about 2 months ago and it smells like it still. In my opinion, it's just easier to use a knife.

KitchenAid Review Great gadget
Be sure to buy this one over the Zyliss - I couldn't get the Zyliss to do anything but mangle onions just a little. This Kitchenaid chopper is just fantastic. It chops very easily and very quickly, and the cleanup is just a breeze. I usually wash mine on the top rack of the dishwasher and it has always done just fine. It's fabulous for nuts too!

KitchenAid Review An "ok" tea kettle
It's a good tea kettle that gets the job done. Two major flaws: PRICE on Amazon - i got the same kettle from Bed Bath and Beyond for $24.99, and HANDLE - i wish the silicone would be around the whole handle as the steel tends to get warm. However, for $24.99 I think it is worth it.

KitchenAid Review wonderful investment
I had read the other reviews on this product and I saw most people were complaining about the splashing that occurs when pouring hot water. It has been my experience in any tea kettle that has really hot water that it will splash. I still went for it because a huge factor for my wife was the looks and it looks great in our kitchen with the other red appliances.
My recomendation for this is to buy it and use it as the directions recommend, which is to heat up water on medium heat and let it set for a minute before pouring and you won't have any trouble. It is one of many great products by kitchen aid.

KitchenAid Review Great tea kettle for the serious tea drinker
After trying a number of name brand tea kettles, I trusted the name of Kitchen-Aid and thought I'd try one. I boil a LOT of water for tea daily and this kettle is up to the job. It doesn't leak and its whistle is tolerable (not like some). You can't lose with this kettle.

KitchenAid Review There are better.........
ways to juice! Was excited about this attachment, but found it awkward to use. Slow and juice will run down your arm unless you hold the citus just right. For large amounts found myself cleaning strainer quite often before I could proceed with juicing process, can do large amount of juice with my other juicer without pausing. Used this a few times but found my small electric juice was quicker. IMHO better to put your money with a better juicer. Will give away this attachement to anyone who wants to try it!!

KitchenAid Review Citrus juicer
I needed something that was faster than what I can do by hand and not too expensive. This juicer fits the bill. The only draw back is that it still takes some effort to press the fruit on the machine in a horizontal fashion. This can be tiring if you are juicing more than several oranges.

KitchenAid Review Elbow grease still required...
I rate the attachment 5 stars because it attaches well to the mixer unit, turns as it should, and washes easily.

Now for some objective comments...

1. Effort is still required to squeeze the citrus fruit onto the spinning juicer arc.

2. It still takes awhile to get juice for a breakfast of 4--if there's time savings to be had with this device, it's not as great as you may think.

3. OJ is quick, but large grapefruit take time, especially if you are straining a lot to remove pulp.

KitchenAid Review Hassle-FULL, not hassle-free
I just really wanted to believe in a myth: that KitchenAid is all about sensible, durable, dependable appliances. Or that KitchenAid is serious about its "hassle-free" policy. Because "hassle-full" seems to describe my experience with the brand much more accurately.

I originally purchased a 300-Watt tilt-head mixer, but after about three minutes mixing a small batch of bread dough for the very first time, its dough hook snapped broken. Customer service wasn't very good, so a few months and several complaints later, I received this larger unit as a replacement.

Unfortunately, this supposedly sturdier unit hasn't held its own either. The dough hook is still in one piece, but the mixer itself (the motor) has broken down three times already, despite my best care. I never mix for more than five or six minutes at a time, and only use speed 1 to mix bread dough. Moreover, I never exceed the maximum load of approximately 14 cups; in fact, all the bread recipes I make total no more than about 8 cups of wet mixture -- less than 12 cups of ingredients, wet and dry. (My recipes come from either The Bread Baker's Apprentice, by Peter Reinhart, or Bread - A Baker's Book of Techniques and Recipes, by Jeffrey Hamelman, both well-known books with very carefully tested recipes.)

The first time I took the mixer to the repair centre, it took them a month to return it to me. The second time, it was returned after 10 days, but worked for all of 40 seconds before breaking down again. And the third time I only got it back after 41 days. Mind you, those repairs were all covered by the warranty, performed at an authorized repair centre. I got a six-month warranty extension, but imagine what it'll be like when the
warranty has expired...

So, just to recapitulate, in one year I was unable to use the mixer for more than two months, time during which I had to put up with a lot of hassle in what seemed to be a futile attempt to get it properly fixed -- to say nothing of my disappointment with the fact that a KitchenAid mixer has broken down three times already with small batches of bread dough during its first year of use.

KitchenAid Review Cracked gear housing
I bought the high priced, high power 600 a little over a year ago. I use it less than once a week to mix relativel soft dough (6 cups of flour) I just took it back for repairs for the third time, always the same thing, the plastic gear housing splits open and all of the gears have to be replaced.
This mixer is a bad news item.

KitchenAid Review Not quite my mom's mixer, but close enough.
I grew up learning how to bake with my mother's KitchenAid tilt-head 5 qt mixer from around 1982. When I got married, my parents gave me this 6 qt model and I absolutely adore it. I tend to make heavy breads at least 2 or three times a week in this mixer without any signs of problems. The only complaint I have is that the attachments are not dishwasher safe. Take it from me, it was not a pretty sight when I realized my husband had put the dough hook through the dishwasher! (Although I guess I should be thankful he loads the dishwasher at all. hehe)

Overall, I feel the quality of the machine is not as high as my mother's old machine. The knobs feel a little more flimsy, and some of the attachments (like the flour shield) are definately not as sturdy-feeling. And if we're going to shell out hundreds of dollars for this thing, I really think KitchenAid could go the extra mile and make the attchments dishwasher safe. On the other hand, I definately feel that the KitchenAid is the highest quality home-use mixer on the market today. I've taken other brands for a "test drive" at various stores and friends' homes, and you could definately feel the difference between the KA and others.

Plus, it's rather comforting to see that familiar white hunk of metal sitting on the countertop. It almost makes me feel like a kid again, waiting at the kitchen table for my mom to finish the brownies so I could lick the bowl. :)

KitchenAid Review Very nice but lid doesn't hold onto bowl
This is a very nice grater indeed. The one thing I don't like is that the lid to the bowl doesn't hold on; it just rests there and that makes me nervous transporting the bowl.If I slip up, the contents slip out!

KitchenAid Review Very well made
We have been using this grater for about a month and it is really well made and has a good grip. It is worth the exta cost but you need to be a little careful since it is sharper than the cheaper ones. It has not rusted in anyway.

KitchenAid Review I just LOVE this thing!
I was looking for a LONG time for a good grater. I used to use my food processor, but what a mess! I purchased this one and WOW! Easy to use, sturdy, FAST cleanup (you can just toss it in the dish washer) and it looks great!

KitchenAid Review Kitchen Aide 750 Food Processor...Awesome!
This machine is awesome. I love it, I use it several times a day. It is a workhorse! I make breads with it. Pie Crust that is tender and flakey in ten presses of the pulse button. I received it for Christmas and I doubt there has been a day that I haven't used it. The bowl is sturdy...dishwasher safe. It comes with a hard plastic tool box that contains the dough blade and the other cutting blades. Easy to store...I love it!

KitchenAid Review This is a great product that does what it says.
I bought this a week or two with the idea of making my own nut butters. I haven't gotten around to the nut butters yet, but I have made a few things so far.

1) Pizza dough - It says to stick to around 3 cups. My recipe was slightly over that and not only did it handle it perfectly but it mixed it so throughly and quickly, I was amazed. Much faster than my Kitchenaid Mixer.

2) Salad dressings. This works very well, though I used the big bowl when I should have used the small. I didn't think I would use the small bowl much but it's great. One handy feature when making salad dressings is that you can pour oil into one side of the plunger and it will drizzle into the bowl slowly. Very handy!

3) Chop veggies. This thing slices vegetables fast. I hadn't even grabbed the plunger yet and my pepper was already done! The blades are very sharp. I cut myself when washing it, so be very careful.

Everything with this unit is heavy and well-made. The included storage case is nice, but I agree that it should have a hinged lid, but that is a small matter compared to the way in which this product delivers. We get used to being disappointed by so many products that we invest in, so it's good to see someone come through for a change. I wish I had bought one sooner!

KitchenAid Review KITCHENAID food processor
Looks good Works even better Nice storage case for attachments
