Ineffective beaters and broke way too soon
Great QUIET Mixer that does the jobThis is a great mixer that is good overall. The spped could be a bit faster but it could mix anything we threw at it, including refrigerated butter that was not even thawed.
I would recommend!
A Good ChoiceI've owned this mixer for 2 years. I use it at least once a week. It mixes everything I use it to mix, including bread dough (with the dough hooks, 4 C flour recipe). It mixes thoroughly and quickly. I've bought one for each of my daughters and they each love this mixer! Cooks Illustrated Magazine (America's Test Kitchen) rated this the top hand mixer of all the hand mixers they tested. They were right!

not recommendedpurchased this item from amazon, took out of package and before even using it but touched to feel the tension on the wires and the wires broke. Got a replacement from kitchenaid (very good service) used it once for eggs, went to wipe with a damp cloth and the wire broke again. would not recommend purchasing this item.

Works GreatI haven't used this disc for ice, but it is a miracle worker for hard cheeses. It is not as light and airy as a Microplane, but it is light and fluffy. If you need a large amount for a recipe, this will take minutes off your prep time. I have no regrets about this purchase.
Wonderful parmesan cheese!I had been using one of the standard blades on my food processor to grate parmesan cheese and was happy with the results. Had I known what a difference this made, I would have ordered it earlier! The grated cheese has a very light texture and goes a lot further than using my other blade. I very highly recommend this blade if you like fresh grated parmesan cheese.

Surprize!I just recived my new pans. They are not ceramic interior. They are your basic non stick. Every web site will tell you ceramic, I called KitchenAid and was told that is a non stick interior. If you are looking for true ceramic interior pans do not buy these.
fabulous pansI received a blue set for Christmas and I love them. The stay cool handles really stay cool, even if you are cooking something for a long time. They are beautiful and Iloev the way they feel. My Caphalon pans are now collecting dust in the back of the cupboard becuase I like these so much more.
well worth the money and will be used i own the red set which i have had for about one year. i purchased an 11 piece set back then. our home burned down but we were able to salvage some items from the kitchen, these were one of those items.
this is a set that you will use and will love to use. stay cool handles. the weight of each pan feels so good when you cook. every size of pan is used and we are 3 in our family.
great quality and clean up is easy...pans stay true red and i don't see any cooking stains on the pans yet.
these are worthy of a 5 star rating.

what a messWell, I'm all for easy clean-up & new technology but this one just didn't work for me. Let me say that I do own the muffin pan - which I love. This pan is another story. I thought the cake was done but when I took it out of the pan, it was not. I even used the tried & true toothpick method to insure the doneness (?) of the cake. Also, removing the cake from the pan is definitely a two-person task. I tried going it alone & wound up with the cake in many, many pieces. It would be impossible to get this cake into the oven if it were not on a cookie sheet or something similiar. At least the muffin pan offers a sled to aid you.
performed better than expectedMy sister got me interested in silicon baking pans. At first I felt anything that was THAT GOOD was probably unhealthy. (along the line of "how much teflon have I eaten over the years?" where does the teflon chip TO? ..my innards- ugh!"
First I got a blue silicon pan at a grocery store. It worked, and I didnt appear to be "eating silicon" but it stained terribly when anything was baked on to it.
Next I tried this pan...and Wow!! Doesnt really stain- even though I have burnt a good number of food products in it. It was at least twice as heavy as the blue item, and therefore easier to work with. The red is VERY attractive (how shallow can I be, caring about colors of pans? heh heh) and turning out cooked items is almost like a miracle - flip- and Whooomp! There it is.
I am knowledgeable enough about cooking to know not to take baked goods out before they are thoroughly cooked- so that was never a problem....and even when I OVERbaked....it wasnt a problem either, as items seemed less willing to burn at the edges. (which just may be my perception...but hey! my perception is what I work with)
The reason it didnt get a 5 was because after one single incident of serious boiling-over-and-burning-on-the-edges-of-scalloped potatoes, I was left with a teensy rim stain, the size of a "couple of dots" - and 5 means "perfect". I would give this item a 4.9 if I could, its that good.

Worked WellI develop pound cake recipes and have always used metal pans. I bought this pan on a whim from Target. It works very well. I use a flour-based baking spray and my cakes brown very well and cook evenly, with a full crust. I have used this pan numerous times and each time the cakes received rave reviews. Because of the flexibility of this pan, use care when placing the pan with batter into the oven. I have not had any issues with this pan, but I have been careful. I love it!

BROKE after a year I purchased this item in cobalt blue just over a year ago, Dec 13, 2004. I used it about 3-4 times for my favorite recipe 'latke', the rest of the time it just sat, cute, on my kitchen counter. Last week for the first time after several months I decided to do my recipe but the machine was DEAD. No power, nothing. I tried all the switches in the house and made sure the bowl was on properly etc..but nothing to do. I couldn't believe it because the last time I used it it worked fine! Of course, it was no longer under the 1year Kitchen Aid warranty. I was given the name of a local Kitchen Aid repair shop and this is what it would have cost me to fix the problem: $45 up front fee, regardless of what needed to be done, plus the cost of labor and parts. It could have easily gone as high as $100-125. Just not worth it.
I always thought Kitchen-Aid was a reliable name but after this, I will definitely think twice before buying any KitchenAid item again.

Broke after a year!Unlike their famous mixers, this KitchenAid food processor isn't worth the money. It does not have all metal parts like the mixer and seems to be cheaply made.
I used this 3-4 times a week on average for a year. The plastic part that holds the blade broke after a year (two weeks after the warranty expired) during normal use. I called KitchenAid and they gave me the name and phone number of a repair shop that repairs small KitchenAid appliances. It was the only shop in my area. I called the shop and they said they would charge me $60.00 just to look at it, plus the cost of repair and any parts that I needed! No thanks!
KitchenAid needs to redesign this product and bring it up to the same standards as their mixture.

AWESOME processor....Highly RecommendedI love this little food processor! It does everything I need and does it well. Its fairly small...you can find a space for it in most cupboards or out of the way someplace but heavy for its size. Its well built. The cord is thick but short, very short. The color is nice, not bright red but a darker red. The work bowls are the only weak point. They make break or crack but I dont know that. Just plastic. The blades are sharp! I cut myself slightly putting the processor together. I am happy I bought this and would recommend it. Excellent Kitchenaid quality.
The motor is powerful, as it seemed to have no trouble "mixing" cookie dough, although I imagine not much power is needed to skim the thin wire beaters through butter without breaking it down and mixing it with the other ingredients.
Finally, what prompted me to write this review is that one of the beater inserts broke, so one of the beaters doesn't stay in or turn.
My last hand mixer lasted almost 10 years through many many batches of cookies. I don't remember what brand it was, but it was far superior to this ineffective piece of junk. I have to buy a new mixer now, and while I can't assure myself that it won't break, you can bet I'll be avoiding anything with wire beaters.
