I make rolls and bread all the time and it has yet to let me down. I can say that if your looking for a handless handheld this is not for you. It's not made to mix a little bit of anything. I have to mix my honey butter with the handheld because there isn't enough for this mixer to mix. I love the easier start, you don't have that big mess from the quick jerk of starting. It's a great product and I would recommend it to anyone.

I also purchased this for $175, with free shipping. I had been checking the availability of the reconditioned models, not realizing that it can change (as well as pricing) very frequently. I had originally planned on getting a reconditioned Artisan model, because when I originally checked, there were no Professional models available reconditioned. Well, a few days later when I went to make the purchase, the Artisan was no longer available. I was very disappointed, until I did another search and found this Pro model, for about $5 LESS that the Artisan had been listed! I've watched some of the different models & colors now and then, and yes, you almost have to check daily to see what's available and the price. My advice... KEEP CHECKING! You can find a great deal if you're patient.

As for the mixer itself, wow. I'd burned out three hand mixers making cheesecake batter, so I was curious to see how this mixer would do. Literally, I put the first group of ingredients in, turned it on a lower setting, looked over at my recipe, and when I looked back, everything was blended already. It actually takes me longer to line the pan than it does to make the batter. And the slow settings are slow enough to incorporate the eggs without beating them, a must for a good cheesecake.

I have NOTHING bad to say about this mixer. I've searched it over to see if I can find any signs of wear, and all I found was a tiny nick in the base. Fortunately I'd read the reviews here and knew in advance that the pouring shield was not included... but at this price, who cares?!?

Mixer arrived early, good condititon and works well. I would reccomend to others. Great deal for a good product...

You will be pleasantly surprised by the "brand new" condition of a factory re-conditioned Kitchen Aid 6 quart Professional series mixer. You may be hesitant about buying a used/reconditioned mixer, but it is definitely worth the gamble. I surely won!

The drawback on buying this re-conditioned mixer is that the one- year hassle free, at Kitchen Aid's total shipping expense replacement warranty, does not pertain to factory re-conditioned unit. The warranty is for 6 months and you pay the return shipping.

If I would of known about the re-conditioned warranty prior to buying the mixer, since I live in Hawaii, I would of bought one that was not termed re-conditioned, because shipping to the mainland US is expensive from here.

Using this mixer has been a joy and the speed that it can whip, mix and kneed dough is amazing!

From a technical perspective, learning how to use the adjustment screw is a necessity in order to be able to maneuver the bowl and beater placement to get the closet placement to the bowl without being too close. After getting the hang of this adjustment you will be able to mix almost without ever having to turn it off and use a spatula!

To keep your mixer running cool while needing dough it is best use only in an air-conditioned room. The instruction manual states that is normal for the mixer's metal housing to feel hot to touch, but mine never even got to a noticeable warm, even under the heaviest dough loads while using at a room temperature of 72 degrees.

Amazon, because of their free shipping has the lowest prices for these mixers any where on the Internet. If you have a "Gold Box" you will at times find new 525 watt Kitchen Aid mixers in there for an additional forty dollars off. There are also many other incentives on Amazon that make their already low price absolutely unbeatable!

I've had it for a month, and have been using it a lot to test it fully before the warranty runs out. It's done a big batch of cookies, merengues, the best bread I've ever made, and a bunch of other things flawlessly. (My friends are starting to dread the windfall of yummy baked goods.) The spiral dough hook kneads a lot better than my mom's old flat hook, and the mixer did, as promised, cut kneading time to about half for my bread recipe. I've really been enjoying this, and highly recommend the larger refurbished model over a smaller new one, if that's the decision you're making. There's really nothing it can't handle (including just a couple of egg whites), and as long as you make sure you've got a good one before the warranty's out, six months more or less of warranty isn't much in the life of a mixer that should be hitting its prime about 20 years in.

This thing is wonderful. I got it for a steal right here on Amazon. I have never owned a stand mixer before, and now I don't know how I ever lived without it. For anyone who bakes regularly, this is essential.

The mixer arrived in a box marked reconditioned. Upon opening up the package I was amazed the mixer had no sign of ever being in use. So far there have been no problems what so ever. I would purchase a reconditioned mixer again in the future for gifts as well as for personal use.
