Well of course it does apples. BUT unlike my old one the cores do not stick in the tube and you just go right to the next apple to push out the core. 24 apples for the party were done in a snap. Some we stuffed, some sliced, some we microwaved. My son got creative and tried it on mellon. Then we tried it on a potato and then stuffed the potato! The wide handle gives great leverage you don't need a lot of strength. It keeps your hand from tiring out on large progects, yet works so fast and cleans easy that you don't mind taking it out for just one apple and it gets ALL the seeds and pips.

I ordered this scraper so that I could take advantage of Amazon's $25 off special. It was almost like getting this item "free" so I didn't think I had much to lose. Instead, I gained a handy, dandy baking tool. This scraper is sturdy, cleans up easily, and is great for cutting yeast doughs without tearing the gluten strands. The 1/2" markings on the blade are a nice extra; they save having to guess when directions call for specific sized pieces. I'll continue to add to my Kitchenaid gadgets; so far, they are all winners.

This is one serious scraper... and the price is right, too. This scraper will feel solid in your hand (no tinny/slippy feeling to it). It will certainly get any job of scraping you have in the kitchen done. I safely use mine on a ceramic stovetop (no scratching, etc.).

KitchenAid wasn't kidding when they named this handy tool the "All Purpose Scraper." It's sturdy as can be and great for cutting doughy items...that's what I use mine for most of all. I've also used it to blend dough, scoop things off the counter/cutting board, chop raw meat while browning in a pan, etc. I recently discovered a slightly unusual use...I spilled a whole bowl of mashed potatoes on my kitchen rug. I didn't think I would ever get it out. Fortunately, my scraper was lying on the counter, so I grabbed it and started to scoop. How handy! It removed all of the potatoes from the (~3/4-inch cut pile) rug. This tool just keeps getting better the longer I use it!!!
