First of all let me say, I really like KitchenAid products for their craftsmanship and durability. That said, this product does a great job of grinding the beans but a TERRIBLE JOB of delivering the grounds.

As stated in previous reviews, the opening where the ground beans come out needs continuous cleaning (yes they do provide a brush) but even when you clean it before every use, you still wind up with coffee grounds all over the place.

I bought this product based on its' heavy design (it is very sturdy) and the KitchenAid brand. After having and using it for several months, I would not recommend it to anyone. There are several better and MUCH CHEAPER burr-grinders on the market that aren't plagued with the cleanup issues of this one.

I have had one of these for about a year and overall I like it a lot. Previous comments about it firing grounds out at the speed of sound if the little swingie door is opened are correct. Don't do it! Yes, a few grounds will spill on the counter regardless. It's still a million times better than the old blade-style I used to have, and the glass graduate is really quite effective at not holding static charge. Problems with clogging are periodic and worse if you grind your coffee fine. I've had to clean it once in the past year and I thought it was about time to clean it out anyway. It has a very small footprint on the counter, should outlive me the way it is built, is louder than a leaf blower. All that said, I am just about to buy another for work. I like the way it works, quirks and all.

I love my grinder !! It grinds the beans well but I agree the delivery of the grounds is odd and messy. The bean storage holds about a pound of beans which is handy. I've had my grinder for about 4 months and havent had any problems with it at all. I think its a nice addition to my kitchen in a retro sort of way fitting undereneath my kitchen cabinets next to my coffee maker. There definitely are cheaper models on the marker but I liked the glass bean hopper and very sturdy cast metal base. It looks to last for a very long time.

One bit of warning, dont open up the little silver lid while grinding your beans or the machine will pelt you with grounds !! That's what happened the first time I used it.
