Great set I just wish the larger knives would of been sharper, but that's ok it come with a sharpner

I bought these to use at home, where I cook 4-5 nights per week. I have had my set for over a year now, and am very pleased with them. All the knives have stayed so sharp that I did not need to sharpen them. I like the versatility of having so many different knives and they look great in the block on my counter. I am very pleased with my purchase!
If I worked in a restaurant and did hours of prep work, I would probably want a set with more heft, but these are fine for me. And what a price!

I got exactly what it said it was and it arrived quickly and in great condition. It has every cutting implement I could want and it is all very good quality. I am completely thrilled. It is a very good buy for the money and I was impressed.

You can't go wrong with this knife. I use it almost as much as I use my 8 inch chef's knife. It holds an edge well, feels light in your hand, and has perfect ballance.

This knife has made me eat more vegetables, just because it's so much fun to chop carrots. I was a little concerned with the handle at first, but it's very comfortable, and isn't slick at all, even in soapy water. I also worried that maybe I should have gotten the bigger version of this knife. Again, my fears were unfounded, as this was the perfect size for vegetable preparation. You can't really describe the feeling of using the best tool for the job... but if you've ever had that feeling, you already know how you'll feel using a Global. When I slice carrots for snacks, they come out as perfect, translucent discs. Any vegetable I've cut has been a joy.

I really like this knife for making thin slices of small to medium size veggies. However, I think this knife is a bit small for mincing onions and the side is too short for scooping like a cleaver (which is bad for your knife anyway). I still usually grab for this knife because its insanely sharp, light, and versatile because of its size. I can use it as to slice tomatoes, shred lettuce, and then dip it in the mayo jar. Perfect for making gourmet sandwiches. Great knife, worth every penny. I plan on getting a 7 1/2 inch Global vegetable cleaver/knife and a Shun 10" chef's as well.

I got this set after reading the reviews. And guess what..the reviews are wrong.

I used one knife so far, it was sharp and good. I used it and cleaned it with water and put it in the wooden block. The next day I had trouble taking it off from the block. After I did I saw it had rust!

Yes, thats right, it rusted.

I dont care how ergonomical it is if it rusts after a single use!

You will regret if you buy this awful set.

As this was being shipped, and with my luck, I was quite anxious that I would receive a bad knife block set. Surprisingly, it's held up fine and served me well. No rust; blades are still as sharp as new (I've been cooking a *lot* lately); handles are fine; rivets still intact.

With the # of pieces in this set, however, I must say, what a HUGE value this is!

This is a very well designed knife. The weight, size, and width of the blade all seem to work in concert. If I have one complaint it would be its sharpness. I think I expected something miraculously sharp.
Another benefit of the design is its stability, which makes it feel safe.

Previous comment about not being sharp did not apply here. I sliced a dead-ripe tomato paper-thin slices without even using my steel.

And the knife has nice balance. As a long term Chef's knife user, this one balances better and I've owned a nice, forged set of knives for years.

I dont know what "Gift Card Recipient' was talking about. I just bought mine, put a fresh edge on it and just cut an onion into paper thin slices, with no tears even. This knife is very well balanced with no feeling of awkwardness like so many of those cheap knives have. Definately a good buy.

Dont plan on cutting anything you need a sharp knife for. Other than that, it's ok.

I bought this knife as a Christmas gift for my wife who has become an excellent cook and I asked her about Santoku knives and shesaid they are very good knives to have in the kitchen. So I bought her this 4.5 inch model because she has small hands and she absolutely loves it. It is put to use everyday. An excellent buy

Top rated by Cooks Illustrated. Great balance. Cuts easily through bones. My first practice ended up with some nice marks in my wooden chopping board. Will last a very, very long time.

Save your chefs knife and use this to cut through bones.

I wish this cleaver had the same handle as the rest of my Pro S knives that are in my Henckels knife block. The cleaver definately is a quality product. I have not had a chance to utalize it yet. It has a good feel to itand looks great, now if it just looked like the rest of the Pro S line.........

I received this cleaver as graduation present when I finished Culinary School and I have been thankful ever since. This is a really nice looking cleaver. The handle is excellent. It looks great feels just right in my hand. It has a good weight to it so that I am able to cut through bones and large pieces of meat with no trouble at all. And with a name like Henckels you cannot go wrong.

The cleaver is just the right size for my use. Handles and fits the hand well. A good product.
