Cutlery Review Tip broke off!
I noticed that the tip had broken off while washing it after 2 months of use. Henckels makes a great knife but be advised--this is NOT a good knife. Good Henckels knives are made in Japan or Germany. This knife is made in Thailand. Could that be the difference?

Cutlery Review Love This All-around Nifty Knife !
I use this great little knife everyday for all kinds of cutting, slicing, chopping, etc. It does a terrific job,has a great feel, nice & sharp & easy to handle. For this price it's a steal..Going to order the 3 piece set with chef's knife, this knife & paring knife & I'll be all set & never have to worry about sharpening ever..I JUST LOVE IT...

Cutlery Review Great knife
Very sharp blade and comfortable handle. Excellent quality for the money. Only possible drawback is the box indicates it is not recommended for lefties. My wife, a lefty, says she has no problem slicing but has cut her fingers several times while chopping. I, a righty, have no such problems. Well worth the purchase price but be aware if you are, or you're buying the knife for, a lefty.

Cutlery Review Great specialty knife
This knife is for paring and peeling curved foods like potatoes and carrots. It does an amazing job at this giving you far better control than any other peeler I have used. It is a specialty knife, and not a substitute for a good standard curve paring knife. The other minor problem is the bird's beak shape makes it hard to sharpen. Most of my knives I use a simple pull through sharpener to put a quick edge on them, and the "scary sharp" sandpaper method for a fine edge. This doesn't work for this knife because of the reverse curve. Plan on using some form of curved sharpener for this one.

Cutlery Review Great potato knife!
Got this as a replacement for our missing (expensive) paring knives. Works great on potatos, makes a close shave and gets the eyes out easily. I've always taken a lot of guff for not using a peeler on potatos (it hurts my hand, even a soft grip one), but now I can peel super fast & just as close. Excellent on fruits & cucumbers, too. Nicked my thumb on this one, too, just as on the straight blade we bought. Very sharp, hope it holds its edge well!

Cutlery Review Great little knife
Very nice knife. Love the unibody. Very sharp

Cutlery Review These are chinese made garbage
The price is cheap because they are made without quality or durability .

Cutlery Review Calphalon so much better
I used to use Henckel knifes. But I bought a set of Calphalon fine knifes and I was stunned at the impressive quality of the Calphalon set. Sharper, better grips, and better value, the new Calphalon system is a great idea.

Walk away from the over priced German line of knifes and go with Calphalon (available on Amazon.com).

Cutlery Review A fines of home kitchen knives
My experience with these knives lies between the two previous reviewers. While I will agree that this set features slightly lighter blades, it's a great starter kit for a competant cook in his or her home kitchen. If you work in a professional climate, you're going to want a heaver cooking knife -- but at home they work very well. Nice and sharp out of the box, and let's face it, we all need to use the steel on the blade more often than we think. A great value, especially here at Amazon where the discount is nice and steep.

Cutlery Review Excellent choice
These knives have a superior edge out of the box. They slice cleanly through meat and vegetable matter without effort. The handle shape is well thought out, ensureing the hand clears the cutting board. The best thing about Kershaw's carbon steel, is that it touches up so easily. A few strokes on a ceramic rod, and the edges are restored to as new condition - Stainless knives are too hard to sharpen easily - and all knives need sharpening at some time.
Do yourself a favor and buy this set - you'll love it.

Cutlery Review Good knife
I like this knife. It is very sharp and cuts thru vegetables easily. I find that the 5 inch blade is too short for some slicing jobs, such as cutting large onions or potatoes, but still gets the job done.

Cutlery Review Handy Dandy
I bought this knife for my husband for Christmas. We've had another santoku knife for awhile and use it all the time. This 5" size is a perfect size for a lot of kitchen tasks. We like this knife a lot because of the scallops. The scallops helps avoid some things sticking to the knife as you are slicing. I do wish it would come with a knife guard.

Cutlery Review Great knife
I absolutely love this knife. I have small hands and this fits perfectly. No more slipping. Thin slices of tomatoes, onions, whatever are no hassle with this knife. I highly recommend this knife.

Cutlery Review These are stamped knives--not forged, and not Henkel's best.
Still, for the price, it's hard to go wrong. If you're starting out, going off to college, equipping a cabin or an RV, looking for knives to use when tailgaiting or camping, etc., these are great. An added bonus is that you'll have the experience to help you decide which of the shapes best suits your preference.

While they aren't professional quality, they're good value for the money. They have a range of blade shapes, making them a versatile set. Their color coding can be useful, too.

WASH promptly after use in hot soap and water, rather than put them in the dishwasher. They'll last longer and stay sharp longer, too. (They'll also set you up with good habits for when you do get the full tang forged versions by Henkel.)

Cutlery Review Great Value!
J.A. Henckels arguably make the best knives available on the mass market. This set of plastic-handled paring knives is obviously not the highest quality that Henckels offers. However, the value is extraordinary (about four dollars per knife). After all, if you buy an ultra-cheap paring knife at the grocery store, you're likely to pay just as much. Furthermore, you can afford to replace the set if they wear out after awhile. I actually bought my set at a local high-end cookware store: for twice as much!

I've had my set for about 6 months and they've held up well. They're dishwasher safe and clean easily - I haven't had any problems with rusting or staining. The four knives have different blades, but I've found all of them to be useful for most quick cutting and paring jobs. They're also attractive - what more can you ask? Most highly recommended.

Cutlery Review The Best
I love these knives. My husband and I use them on a daily basis. We have had them for three monthes and I think we have used at least one everyday. If you cook at home often, I would highly recommend buying them. They cut through everything nicely.
