A good deal
Quite PleasingIt does not use the traditional three-rivet handle -- the handle is molded. But it is a full tang, and there's no reason to expect any loss in longevity.
I gave this four, rather than five, stars primarily on the basis of the appearance of the blade -- but this is a matter of personal taste. Unlike knives used in the kitchen (where getting the job done is the job, and the appearance is not particularly important) a bread knife is likely to be used before guests. The utilitarian appearance of the blade is entirely appropriate to my tastes, however it may not appeal to those who expect a highly-polished appearance. Also (and this is visible from the photos) this bread knife does not have an offset handle, which may be awkward with large cutting boards.

Great knife! Buy the whole set.Their unusual design is not only stylish, but functional. The wider handle design makes them easy to hold onto, even when your hands are wet or greasy. (Not the case with the other two.) The knives are also heavy and extremely well balanced, giving you a solid feel when you cut through something. Finally, they are forged out of just one piece of metal, so there are no seams (like on the Wusthof Culinar line) between the handle and the blade, making them a breeze to clean up with a little soapy water. (As with all good knives, they should never be put in the dishwasher.)
This bread knife cuts through soft or hard bread with ease. It is so sharp that I think it will be a long time before it needs sharpening. (For comparison, I use some of the other knives in my set every day, have had them for 3 months, and I'm just thinking of sharpening for the first time soon.)
I really don't think you could go wrong with this knife.

Care for it...That said, it is too much work, and I would be skeptical of using it on meat due to not being able to as thoroughly wash it and to the cracks/seams. Glad it was free.
so far so goodI've been using it for 5 months now and it has not split or warped on me. I found it to be especially handy for small to medium cutting tasks. But if you plan on having just one cutting board, go with a larger one.
The other nice thing about this board is that its size and weight is much more manageable for cleaning. I rinse and let air dry my cutting board after each use. With the heavier larger boards, you'd have to be an arm wrestling champ to do that.
Bottom line, it's a solid second cutting board for the price.
