Henckels makes a great knife and this set represents a great value. If you like a heavier knife, go with a Wustof. If you favor a lighter set, this is the one.

I have a fortune in knives, I always try new ones, just about all my knives are at the top end, Wurstoff Grand prix, etc. I tried this knife, it was the last one left so I gave it a try. It is great, elegant, good feel. I like the blade is thin and has a little bend when pressed. My other knives are stiffer. I think this has my sharpest blade, but my quess being thin, it may need sharpening a little more often, but that's just a guess. I will get more of this knife.

I am a big fan of Global knives. They are wonderfully balanced, expertly sharp, and heaven to hold. This knife is no exception. I have quite a collection, myself. However, to call this knife a "Tomato Knife," at only 3inches long, is nuts in my book; that is, of course, unless you're talking about cherry tomatoes! The knife does glide through the skin effortlessly, as another has said, and the meat of the tomato is certainly not a challenge for the knife, either. But it's so short that the knife can get hung-up down in the tomato when you're trying to cut through. I wondered about this, but I purchased it anyway. It's great on avacados: if you use it to cut them in half the long way, and then use the back of the knife to cross-cut the insides of the halves, then turn the halves inside out, and scrape out the little squares of the avacado meat. But if you really want a great serrated knife that's long enough to cut through tomatoes with ease and room to spare, get the Global 6-inch Serrated Utility Knife. It's a must have, anyway.

This is the most amazing knife I have ever owned! I ve purchased Henckles Twinstars, Sabatier;which is pure junk! Out of all the knives Ive owned none have sliced with the mastery of these knives. I enjoy the pleasure of slicing and dicing with such serene knives. I have since decided to sell my other non global knives and replace them with all Global this is quite a bold move as I consider myself thrifty with a nickle but the quality of this knife has beckon me fourth to a place where I must in fact splurge for the quality that i now know I do not want to live without. I simply cannot quantify how significant the difference in quality between these knives and Henckles Twinstar i really wasnt expecting to open a Pandora's box of spending. It actually happened quite accidently in my wife whom loves tomatos could not find a knife to cut them properly with and well the other person who reviewed this knife stated as bold fact it got the job done like no other. I must admit this knife is truly as silly as it might sound the "EXCALIBER of knives."
