I used this board a couple of times, and it warped, split, and felt very rough to the touch after rinsing it in warm water. I am returning it.

Good quality, perfect size for all your kitchen needs. I put rubber grippers under it so it doesn't slide and treated it twice with mineral oil. Great price and quality, better than spending $80 for similar item.

As previous reviewers have noted, this item has multiple uses, from pot holder to trivet to jar opener to bowl stabilizer. The only down side for use as a trivet is its size; this is only 8 inches in diameter. For large pots or casseroles, that may not be enough. In that case, putting a (thick) folded kitchen towel beneath this trivet will prevent burns on the counter.

Works fine as a pot holder too. Could have picked up something about the same at TARGET for $5 though (I realized later).

I originally bought 2 of these at a local linen store, but after some use, I needed more! These work better than the cotton gloves for retrieving items from a hot oven. The silicone really insulates the heat and protects you from very hot temperatures. I had to buy 2 more from amazon.com since no one else sells these chic round ones.

They are very easy to clean - all you need is soapy water. They are very flexible as well. They will conform to any handle you place it on. These also work great as jar openers! I use them underneath mixing bowls that tend to slide around.

Just because its round, doesn't mean it can be used for other shaped pots and pans. It doesn't matter what shape the pot or pan is - it covers a great deal of area at 8" wide. I would highly recommend getting more than one. Two covers all of my pans - large and small.

I've found that these are more flexible than others out on the market. I highly recommend buying at least 2!

And it will not warp, as another reviewer mentioned. There ARE instructions, they are on the little label sticker, though I can understand how they could be missed. I haven't even oiled mine, and it isn't warped or cracked. You can't dishwash it or soak it (also mentioned on the label) so that may be the cause of some people's cracking. I air dry it, lying it face down against any minor warping and this helps as well.

That said, it is too much work, and I would be skeptical of using it on meat due to not being able to as thoroughly wash it and to the cracks/seams. Glad it was free.

I felt that this cutting board deserves more credit than it has received so far from the reviews here. I agree that it is not one of those hefty high-density boards that should be showed off on your countertop. Nonetheless, this is a decent board, especially at the price on Amazon.

I've been using it for 5 months now and it has not split or warped on me. I found it to be especially handy for small to medium cutting tasks. But if you plan on having just one cutting board, go with a larger one.

The other nice thing about this board is that its size and weight is much more manageable for cleaning. I rinse and let air dry my cutting board after each use. With the heavier larger boards, you'd have to be an arm wrestling champ to do that.

Bottom line, it's a solid second cutting board for the price.
