Very quiet, nice remote control feature.Doesn't blow quite as much air as I thought it would, but it isn't bad considering how quiet it is. The remote works great, and the controls are all duplicated on the front, so if the remote breaks or gets lost, you can still control it. It's great to be able to turn it on for a certain time period and have it automatically switch off.
Holmes Remote Control FanThis fan has alot of power for being a smaller size model. It doesn't make alot of noise either. The air feels like a breeze from outside. If you move it to different rooms it is lightweight and has a handle at the top, which is very convienent for a counter or tabletop. I highly recommend this fan. The price is very reasonable too! I hope this helps you in making a decision.
Great little fanThis fan has several settings, some of which simulate a breeze (not a constant flow of air). It also has a timer setting and a remote. We have one at our office as well, and everyone loves it. It's pretty quiet too.

Nothing beats a good whetstone but...Nothing beats a good whetstone, but you need to not only know how to use one correctly and hold your blade at a very precise angle, but you also have the time to do it right. I originally bought the (much) cheaper two-stage Chef's Choice sharpener which was great for quickly and accurately honing cheap kitchen knives. I've even used it on machettes, anything with a flat grind can be sharpened with these things...
Since upgrading to high-end Shun knives, however, I was uncomfortable with the amount of metal the old one removed and the rough finish it left. After heavy daily use, a manual honing rod simply isn't always enough to keep your blades razor sharp so you'll either need a whetstone or a mechanical device. Dull knives not only work poorly, but they are dangerous to use as well. I've tried the Lansky rod system but it's very hard to hold certain knives in the clamp, which also leaves scratch marks. Not an acceptable solution for $125 plus blades. Sooo, I've upgraded to this device to supplement my whetstone.
This one costs three times as much as the two-stage model, but it works at least three times better. Gradations between the hones is excellent and the third wheel leaves a nice smooth finish. After the initial sharpening you'll probably never use the first one again on any given knife but it's nice to have available. The guides work very well too, helping you maintain a consistent, accurate grind. The down side is that you cannot sharpen hunting knives, daggers, or other blades with a diamond grind or large center spine. Anything flat-, tapered, or hollow-ground works fine. Be cautious not to remove too much material with repeated use though--the diamond hone wheels are very quick and efficient, sometimes more so than you'd expect... They seem to hold up quite well over time too.
All in all I'm glad I bought it. Still need to do things manually from time to time depending on the type of blade and how delicate I need to be, but this really is a top of the line sharpener. Recommended.

Super SharpenerJust as advertised! This sharpener is great! Knives that were very dull now slide right through anything being sliced! Sorry I waited so long to get this sharpener! The price held me back- but it's worth every penny!
How to avoid scratchesThis is a great product. It is the first electric sharpener I've purchased, and I am pleased with it's performance. In regards to a previous reviewers comments about scratching the blade, I think I know the solution. Personally, the scratches mean little to me if I have a razor sharp knife in trade, but for those of you who want to retain the looks of your knives, read on. The cratching, for me, only appeared on a knife that was very dull that I had to use the roughest stage on 2-3 times. What I believe happened to cause the scratches was that this stage removes so much metal and in such large pieces that they inevitably get on the plastic guards that keep the blade in the correct angle. When you reinsert the blade for another pass, these particles scratch the blade. I didn't notice such scratching on the other knives and they only required the finer stages of sharpening, therefore the particles where less and smaller. I suggest if using the rough stage, wipe off your knife after each pass and slide a cloth down between the plastic guard as well. Some light scratching may even polish out with a metal polish such as Flitz.

The most used pocket knife I ownOf all the many Swiss Army Knives I own, this is the most used. Not only is the Pocket Pal small enough to easily carry in a front jean's pocket, its simplicity makes it perfect for quick use for fruit peeling, paper cutting, and a whole host of tasks.

The Trekker Is First RateThis was my second Swiss Army Knife purchase. I also purchased the Fieldmaster. I don't like the Leatherman or Swisstool type utility gadgets, so I took a chance and bought this one.
The quality of the blade is first rate, and especially the sawblade. I have found uniform and excellent blade quality in all the Victorinox knives. You are not going to have problems cutting smaller tree branches, etc...with this one. The locking blade is solid, and with a little practice you will have no problems operating it with one hand. The "action" gets smoother the more you use it and now after working it for several days it comes open with very little effort. It is sharp enough to cut a piece of paper without any trouble. I can definitely see quite a few uses around the house for this knife. It doesn't have scissors, but I can live without that.
I don't think this is the right knife to be carrying around in your pocket though. It's just too big to be comfortable. I can envision it in my backpack or glove compartment, or in the kitchen drawer. The only thing that keeps this from getting 5 stars is the plastic grip material. It doesn't feel to solid and I can see it chipping or cracking over time. Other than that, a very good blade with almost no wiggle that could stand some heavy duty torque if you are trying to cut something tough.
Excellent blade and few things moreI originally needed a bottle opener and a can opener to open all the soda pop at parties, but my roommate recommended that I get a swiss army knife. This black pocket knife is extremely versatile as well as aesthetically pleasing (definitely more so than the red Swiss Army knives). I wouldn't exactly consider this a one-hand knife, as the main blade is not easy to open with one hand (though it is possible with a pushing flick of the thumb). The main blade is great for everything - I've used it from cutting fruit to opening bags.
The saw is less useful indoors - I've only cut a pen in half with it, but it makes the knife a lot more interesting. As my girlfriend puts it, "Everyone guy who walks into your room fondles that knife."
Overall, high-quality product for an excellent price.

A versatile if slightly larger SAKI love the locking blade, and I love how it can be opened with one hand (the other is usually whatever it is you need to cut, right?). I also love the fact that the flat-head screwdriver locks when it's open, saving your hand from the accidental snap-pinch you can get while using it on other models. The weight and feel of this knife are pefect too. The only downside is it's slightly larger proportions. This is longer than the 3 1/2" models, and it makes a difference. If you're planning on carrying this in your pocket, it needs to be one of the only things in there. Still, if your lifestyle demands a slightly more rugged SAK than usual, this is a great choice.

Must have for evey car glove boxBought this utility tool for my car glove box. It comes in very handy at many occasions when travelling. I've used the bottle opener, and utility knife at picnics. The screwdrivers (flat and phillips) come are very useful when a full toolbox isnt around. The holder is very functional too with a bui;t in belt loop to carry the knife with you on the go.
The only minor negative is that there the feel of the tools as you open them is not particularly smooth. It almost feels like there is sand in the joints, but it is a new tool and that isn't the case. Maybe this goes away with some use, but dont yet know. Otherwise, its a few tool to have.

Warmrails Kensington Towel WarmerThis is an OK item for the price. The brass is not very heavy, and the fittings to the wall are plastic...so not a very high quality look.
It has been my experience that the towels aren't really WARM when you use them....but they are DRY..consistently and fast...which is great.
I am sure I could have purchased a higher quality unit for ten times the price!

Wonderful Towel Warmer for the PriceWe puchased this for our bathroom remodel. It seemed that this towel rack had consistantly good reviews and was one of very few in this price range. I wasn't going to pay thousands of dollars for something I've been able to successfully live without up to now! It gets the towels dry quickly. Our contractor hard-wired this through the tile to an electrical outlet in the wall. It is surprisingly hot to the touch when it's on. Also, it seems as if it would be better if it had a timer on it (a project for hubby), so you could turn it on for 4 hours or so, to dry your towels after your morning shower. We try to remember to turn it off sometime in the mid-afternoon, but we mostly forget and so it's on all day.
Wonderful product for the price! We came back from a research trip to Paris in early January and immediately decided we had to try a towel warmer here. Now, this Kensington model cannot compete with the towel warmer in our Paris apartment, but it is sure better than no towel warmer at all. Since we had to mount it on the laundryroom wall adjacent to our bathroom, it also comes in handy to finish-dry our perma-press and delicate laundry. This is a great product for the price and seems not to have increased our electric bill by very much, either.

Don't let the size fool you!Don't let the size of the Bissell GoVac deter you - it's a hungry little champ! Of course it's not as powerful as a vacuum, so have the right expectations of what you're getting. It's extremely simple to operate and does so at an acceptable volume. It picks up cat hair, cat litter and food from carpeting and the small sized head actually helps get into some tighter spaces. I bought this to replace our Shark which died (and if you've had one you know how it feels to have thrown away that money). After we got our Bissell my mother wanted one too (funny enough to replace her dead Shark!). I would say the only negative is the smaller dust cup. However it holds enough to do the job and is actually very easy (and cleaner) to empty. Also, in the past when I've had a problem with a Bissell product they were there to help and did so politely and quickly - I cannot say the same for the Shark company. Overall this is absolutely a best buy for the money - and with the Bissell reputation behind it I hope we'll be enjoying our GoVac for a long time to come! By the way, Bissell has a rewards program so be sure to register your purchase [UPC code] at their web site to qualify for discounts and special offers.
One of Our Best Purchases This YearThis little sweeper was a *fantastic* purchase. Don't be deceived by it's small size -- it's power is formidible. It picks up everything from pet hair to dust particles to large crumbs on our hardwood, tile, and shag carpeted floors. Yet, its compact size makes it easy on your back (so we don't have to lug the humongous Dyson out as often) and enhances its maneuverability between table legs, chairs, behind the TV, etc. It works for about 20 minutes per charge, which is long enough to spot clean and keep the house under control. We've had it for over four months now, and I'd say our house is at least 200% cleaner because of it, since it's so easy, almost fun, to just whip this little baby out and let her rip. It's not even very noisy (the cat's not afraid of it). The only drawbacks I can think of are because it's a sweeper instead of a vacuum, it cleans only perfectly flat, open, surfaces well. Thus, it doesn't do a good job as a "hand vac" to clean the floor of the car since our car floors aren't perfectly flat (they're undulating). Also, I tried it on the carpet on the stairs, and it doesn't get the dust in the nooks and crannies well. I just use a regular vacuum or dustbuster with a crevice tool for those jobs. Also, it will probably last longer if it is not overcharged on a continual basis. That said, even if this thing lasts only a year, we will gladly repurchase because we have perpetually crumb-generating toddlers, pets, and humans around here and this inexpensive GoVac has raised the quality of our daily life.

The best of the breedOf all the SAK's out there, the Deluxe Tinker is my favorite. It's small enough to comfortably stay in your pocket (instead of those side pouches many of the larger models require), and every single tool in the collection is useable. While I own eight different Swiss Army Knives, this is the one I constantly grab when it's time to go. The only problem I had with it is the scissors. The small metal piece that pushes the blades apart got twisted once when I let someone borrow my knife (never again) and I could never get it to work right after that. I recently purchased my second to let my first retire after several long years of rugged use. If not for the scissors getting messed up, I'd still be using it today. After years of daily use, it's still good. The blades have had to be sharpened and there are a few chips out of the red cover, but I have no complaints with the quality. It holds up to hard usage.
If you're looking for a knife that is durable and useful, Swiss Army is the way to go. Any of their knives are good.

my own fault... for not shopping aroundit is easier to take things back to a local retailer if you think something is wrong with a product. i believe the sharpener wheels are misaligned so the knives are being unevenly sharpened. it does take off metal. i'm going to do more practicing and not on my top of the line knives.
A must for every kitchen - you can't cook with dull knivesThis little 'gadget' will transmogrify the dullest, bluntest knives in your drawer into razor sharp slicers and dicers. I didn't believe it really could; I bought it because I was ready to try anything cleaner than oil and stones - even my diamond hone could not refurbish abused blades to my satisfaction.
This machine fixes the problems of those ratty sharpeners on the backs of can openers, the messy and oily hones, the ineffective and tiring ceramic 'V' contraptions - and the user errors. The slots align the blade to the correct angle and keep it that way - the user just stabilizes the knife handle and keeps the blade from running through too quickly. It is that easy!
The stages run from coarse grit (for horribly dull blades that you used to cut branches in the garden last summer) to extra fine (to finish the edge or re-align the blade edge after use). Even my cleaver is sharp enough to cut joints instead of bludgeoning the entire beast into submission. Best of all, it sharpens quickly; it is no longer a messy, all day chore to get sharp knives.
The only down side is that the sharpener is hard to use on short blades or scissors - although it can touch up the tips of straight-edged snippers.
Once you get your blades in shape, keep this machine handy so you can maintain those desirably sharp edges.
You can do it!

best sharpener I've ever hadI'm a hunter and a fisherman (mostly fisherman) and have had a devil of a time over the years keeping fillet knives sharp. In order to fillet a fish, a knife sharp is everything. I used the chef's choice sharpener on my fillet knives and it got them almost razor sharp. Encouraged, I went and sharpened all the kitchen knives and the box full of pocket knives that I have received for birthdays and so forth over the years. I have nothing but good things to say about this product. Highly recommended!

Foodsaver vs Rival Seal a MealThese bags are super convenient and they're small enough to portion out a single serving. I bought these for my Rival Seal a Meal since I can't seem to find this pint size by Rival. I've had mixed success in using Foodsaver bags in the Seal-a-Meal, but that's not so much a product flaw. I have noticed however that the Rival bags feel thicker than the Foodsaver bags. Overall these bags are good, and they're a convenient size.
Great size bagI am so glad I tried this size bag because I use it all the time and it is a great time saver;could not be better.
Luv the bagsThese are such a handy to size for single portions. I can pick 2 or 3 items for a meal & heat them in boiling water for a home cooked meal in minutes.
