THE BUNN COFFEE MAKER IS A DISSAPOINTMENTI had a difficult time trying to find a decent coffee maker that would actually give me a good tasting, hot cup of coffee. One would think that the Bunn unit would be the one, especially if you consider the fact that Bunn is the brand of coffee makers usually found in restaurants and coffee shops. I was very dissapointed with The Bunn unit and returned it after two days. I did not like the fact that you had to leave the switch on in the back reservoir of this unit, which is suppose to keep water hot for coffee. Not only is this a potential fire hazard to leave an appliance on 24-7, but once you brew a pot of coffee with the "hot" water from the reservoir, it does not stay hot and I found my coffee was tepid when I added milk to my cup of java. Another problem is that you cannot get a full pot because the water evaporates as it is constantly cooking and boiling away in the reservoir. If you want to brew two pots in a row, this will not work. The second pot of coffee will be weak and will be semi-hot, because the water in the reservoir has to be in there for a considerable amount of time to get heated up. I tried many different brands of coffee, all expensive, which should have given me a nice tasting coffee. However, I found every pot to have a bitter taste. This coffee maker is not what I expected at all. In the future I will pay attention to consumer reports before I purchase a coffee maker. And... if you read these reports, you will not find the Bunn coffee maker at the top of their list. Don't waste your time or money on the Bunn coffee maker, take my advice!
Makes great coffee, really fastThe Spousal Unit broke the decanter from our old Black & Decker machine (heh...heh...), giving me the excuse to buy a Bunn which I've been coveting for some time. It's been in the house for a week now...
We make two short (4 cup) pots each morning...one when my wife gets up, and another about an hour later for my drive to work. For both of us, getting the coffee *fast* is v-e-r-y nice. Even making a short pot with any other machine we've had seemed to take forever, especially when you want it NOW.
I'm not really a die-hard coffee freak, but the coffee made by the Bunn does taste "smoother" to me. It does, however, use slightly more coffee to get to my preferred taste. On the other hand, our college kid who's home for the summer uses the same amount of coffee per equivalent pot as the old machine used, and proclaimed the Bunn's coffee as "the best", so it's just a matter of taste.
If I had a say in things, I would probably add a safety shutoff timer on the warming plate, which seems to be standard equipment on most other drip coffee makers these days.
The fact that the machine is on continually, keeping the water in the reservoir hot doesn't concern me. Nor have we noticed any problems getting "short" pots due to evaporation which others have complained of.
The Bunn is fairly bulky compared with our old B&D, Mr. Coffee or similarly sized machines. We're tight on counter space, but it's still no big deal.

Best Coffee Maker EverYou can pay more for fancy features, but WHY? If you make coffee everyday, this is the maker for you. Coffee is ready in minutes. If you don't make coffee daily, water will evaporate. I live in a humid enviornment.
This is our second Bunn, the first was given to me as a gift. I used it multiple times daily for over 8 years. When it started to leak water, I knew I had to have a new one.

Great Rolling PinI'm not an expert baker, but this rolling pin is perfect for me.
great rolling pinI have only used this rolling pin to roll out dough for cinnamon rolls so far, and it worked great. I like the length and light weight of this pin. It was very easy to use and clean. I just made sure it was lightly floured and didn't have any problems with the dough sticking. It was also very easy to clean - just rinsed off with water. I prefer it over my old rolling pin with handles which is heavier and makes an annoying squeaking sound sometimes. I am very satisfied with this rolling pin, and I have the Vic Firth French rolling pin on my wishlist.

Muffin pans too big for most toaster ovens.Be advised that the dimensions stated are wrong. These muffin pans are 12-1/2" by 8-1/2" by 1-1/2 inches -- too large for my 12-inch "large capacity" Delonghi Toaster Oven. It has been difficult to find muffin pans that will fit inside a toaster oven. These pans are well constructed, just a pity they aren't 1/2 inch shorter.
Good PanThis little muffin pan is great for a small family, they are hard to find
Great Muffin Pans!I looked all over for pans that made the big muffins and not only were they none stick but they were on an incredible sale so I bought five!

Handy kitchen itemThese are thin, lightweight, flexible mats that are great for chopping things on and then picking up and folding up the edges to pour the food into a pot/pan. This thinness/flexibility has a "downside" too: I do agree with the other reviewers that these mats tend to curl up and not lay flat. However, they clean up easily, the price is right, and I am happy with my purchase.
They DO bend after a whileI've used these for months to protect tile countertops and they basically work except they start bending after a while on the edges and something light (like an empty glass)tends to fall over. They are heavy duty and I put hot items on them with no problems.

ahh...the word "plastic" might be helpfulI'm an idiot for not reading the product description more carefully, but usually the word "chrome" implies I'm buying something made of metal. This p.o.s. on the other hand is made entirely of chrome colored plastic. The only thing metal in the box is the cup (which coincidentally is the least important part of the whole unit). The tip of the mixer rod is also made of plastic. It will not crush ice. If you want a serious mixer, either go to your local restaurant supply (the smart move) or buy a Waring.
Nice little shake machineIt does't make the 32 ounce shakes I remember from the good old days but it does a good job and perhaps less is better for the waist line.
Soda Fountain RetroWhile this is a "lightweight" unit and not commercial, it does make a nice useable "retro" item for the soda fountain in our 50's room.

PlasticThe plastic works fine. It's cheaper than buying a whole new blender! Only problem, it takes about 10 days to get it.
