Makes one great pot of chili after another....
Slow cooker vs. Portable RoasterThis item is listed as a slow cooker, but it really is more like a portable roaster oven. I have owned both and was really looking more for a crock pot type appliance this time. I liked the snap on lid so it can go from cooking to fridge after a meal, then back in an oven for reheating. I was just hoping the "pot" would be much thicker/heavier because I like the heat retention properties of a heavy ceramic pot [stays warm longer on the table]. This product does make meal prep/planning so easy, enjoy...
LOVE IT!I desperately need a crockpot that would fit all the stuff I had to put in it. I use all the time and I am glad I purchased it!

my favorite applianceI have had my machine for several weeks and it rocks! There was a wee learning curve (my fault, not the machine's) but it is now turning out loaf after loaf of delicious fluffy bread. I've had absolutely no mechanical problems at all so far. As long as I follow the recipe instructions (who knew it was so important to use all room-temp ingredients so the bread would rise properly?!)I get a perfect loaf every time. My family of bread-loving men couldn't be happier and I really believe it is saving me money to make my own bread, plus it is so much more convenient than making the trek to the closest grocery store, which, given where I live (Middle of Nowhere), isn't very close.
A Terrific Machine for Its PriceI have had my Corner Bakery for 4 months now. On the average, I use it about once a week. So far, I have used it only for bread and dough, and have used the regular, sweet, Instabread and dough cycles. I have found it to be very reliable with both the recipes provided and recipes from other sources. I also like it because it will make loaves as small as 1 pound and up to at least 2 pounds.
A few tips:
1. In cold weather (room temperature at or below 65), I prewarm the pan and all ingredients to about 80 degrees.
2. I measure flour by weight (133g = 1 cup)with an inexpensive diet scale and find it to be much easier as well as more reliable than measuring in a cup.
3.The dough is too wet if it leaves traces on the floor of the pan as the kneading blade sweeps it around. Add flour about a tablespoon at a time.
4. The dough is too dry if it does not cohere into a single ball. Add water about 1/2 tablespoon at a time.
5. I have also found that I can cheat a bit and use the Instabake cycle successfully with recipes that are at least 50% white flour (I haven't dared yet to use more whole wheat flour on that cycle).
This is my first review ever, but I found other reviews helpful in chosing to buy this product, and hope to help the next shopper. For more money, there are breadmakers that allow you to reprogram the cycles, run partial cycles, make jam, and recover from power failure, but this one does a great job making bread and dough for half the price. I am very happy with mine.

Fresh curned butter on some homemade bread anyone? We have owned the Breadman Corner Bakery for about eight months now. It has made our house smell wonderful. I have to say I don't use the recipes that came with it, so I won't judge those. For the price this is a beautiful machine. The pan has a solid heft to it, not like some of the other bread makers with seemingly flimsy aluminum pans. We have made many types of bread in it and have even churned butter from heavy cream. The best kind of bread is the one made in the pan right after making butter. With a toddler and a baby, it is nice not to have to run to the store everyday to buy fresh bread or rolls. The only time our bread has turned out not so good is when an ingredient has been forgotten. Without the yeast it wasn't quiet the same but our house smelled great.

Not BookendsI bought these bookends for my kitchen and tried to use them to hold up cookbooks. They didn't stay in place and I was always pushing them back, when one of them finally fell to the floor and broke into a thousand pieces. I would not recommend this product to be used as bookends. They were cute, but defintely not functional.
Great Producthave a set in my kitchen and really enjoy them. They are a great accent piece and go well with my other Chef decorating items.

43 years and still cookingI was looking at the copper clad Revere because I wanted to replace my aged 10 inch fry pan. Sadly, I could not find a skillet with a lid so, having read one of the reviews that "panned" RevereWare, I indeed purchased Farberware. In the early 1960's RevereWare was about the best available. As I said, my entire set is still in active use after FORTY THREE YEARS. My skillet lost a rivet in the handle and looks pretty bad at this point, so I decided to purchase Farberware because their skillet had a lid. I can't compare the two because RevereWare may now be a bit heavier. If there have been no changes, the Farberware is heavier and of course is not copper clad. (Had I been a bit brighter 43 years ago I never would have requested copper clad bottoms for wedding/shower gifts.) Anyway, for the price and durability I cannot see how anyone can criticize RevereWare. Just get the stainless unless you LOVE to clean pot bottoms!
23 years and still cooking...This cookware was a wedding gift. I use it on an almost daily basis. Of course, I have more expensive pots and pans but I always reach for the Revere. It heats fast and cleans easily. It is durable and I have been pleased with it for many years.
Buy the Farberware set instead...Revere is the cheapest brand of quality cookware out there. I have several Revereware pans and they have proved to be sturdy performers... But, I prefer the shape, looks, feel and finish of the Farberware sets, which are a little bit more. The Revere pans have been relegated to the back of the cupboard, and are now used rarely. The shiny copper bottoms also are very hard to keep clean. Bottom line: If you want the cheapest set of quality cookware you can find, but this set. But if you can spring for a little more, buy the Farberware.

Items Sold Were Defective As Per The Manufacturer!Very simply, I bought two of these during the Holidays for stocking stuffers. Each recipient said that the item broke within 2-3 weeks. The concept is great but the actual product is made from very thin plastic. Both times the product broke at the hinge, rendering it useless.
I called the Seller (Organize-Everything.com) and was told that they are unable to go beyond their 30 day replacement or return policy. Well, I am rather relentlous, and as a matter of principle I called the manufacturer. The manufacturer (Jokari) explained that they received a batch of defective product. They were very helpful and are sending the replacements.
No stars for the seller because they did not want to be bothered with having to replace a defective product that they knew was defective from all the phone calls they have received in the past months, and instead made me do all the leg work.
There is also something to be said about those of us who do early Holiday shopping in November, and are shut out by many sellers because the gift is not given until 30 days after purchase.

Doesn't WorkThe first unit's RPM meter did not work and it smelled like it was overheating. The second unit's RPM meter did not work. I ended up sending both units back. I think I'll get stuck with shipping on both units. This buying experience will probably cost me $40 to $60 in shipping.
I love my L'equip! It does everything I need it to and more! I'm a raw foodist so I don't need something that will "cook" foods like some of the other high-powered blenders will. However, if that's what you need one for, this will do that, too. The L'equip is the only blender I have ever used without the lid (not advised for households with children). I can start it out at a crawl and go up to blindingly fast with a turn of the knob. I liked my original one so much that I bought one to have at the office so my green smoothies could be made fresh for lunch. Alton Brown was showing off his appliances on "Good Eats" and he has a L'equip, too. Made me feel famous!
Cooks Illustrated loved itI just put in an order for one based on Cooks Illustrated ranking this the #1 blender.
I hope I have a better experience than that other reviewer who gave hers 1 star.

The deduction is for something I hadn't considered when ordering: It's difficult to clean the removable pan. The 9 by 13 dimensions make it a bit tricky moving it under the faucet (even w/a double sink). Your best bet is to clean right away after use.
The plastic snap-on lid is a great way to store the cooked food in the fridge or take it on the road. All in all, a fine product.
