Home and Kitchen Review Love these knives
If you are tired of your knife sets that don't cut without having to feel like your sawing through it this is the set you need. Cuts through meat and veggies in a snap. It also is perfect for wedding gifts. The box is not as durable as I would like, but still good for storage.

Home and Kitchen Review hotnui
Why is everyone complaining about the case? It's Free. Not the best quality, who cares. The knifes are great. Good looking, sharp, and seems high quality. So what if they are made in China, isn't everything? However, it does make it sound like it's made in germany. You get what you pay for folks. $100 for 2 Santoku knifes, that's what you'd pay for One Henckles or Wusthof.

I ended up returning them because of the ugly washed burnt orange handles. Didn't look so bad in the picture, or on her show. I just couldn't stand the color.

But hey, if you love Rachel Rey, you do get a nifty CD-Rom on how to sharpen kifes, gotta love the value.

Home and Kitchen Review Not as good as the previous Pro model
First and foremost this product makes excellent coffee.
But (there's always a but isn't there) the water feed usually creates bubbles in the watermeasure tube and is difficult to fix each time...
the Programming control does not have a manual override; it is supposed to not go on if there is no water in the coffeemaker but sometimes it cuts on at the scheduled time even if the water has not been loaded in it...
It is better, and safer, to unprogram it if you do not intend for it to go on at the scheduled time.

Home and Kitchen Review Best coffeemaker I've ever owned.
I was a little concerned about opening up shop away from home, 3 states away, and having to leave my tried and true Krups Pro Aroma behind. Granted, its an 8 year old model, but it made a great cup of coffee, and I had mastered the fairly simple interface for programming and setup.

In my search, I read a LOT of negative reviews about the new Krups product family. Really not a surprise cause even the Pro Aroma had its many quirks, but still.....the coffee. So, after reading a bunch of bad reviews on Braun, Mr Coffee, Cuisinart, and Krups coffeemakers, I figured $60 was worth the risk to plunk down on this model. My first impression when I opened the box was that the coffemaker was solid and well constructed, but that the carafe was too light and thinly formed. But after two weeks of use I really cant find anything to complain about.

Yes, the carafe is very light, but I like it. And it pours well with no drips. I havent yet attempted to program the machine cause thats not a necessity for me, but hit the "ON" button and in about 5 minutes you have a fast, hot, and extraordinarily flavored pot of coffee. And this is honestly the best coffee I've ever had from this machine, even much better than my old Pro Aroma from the same manufacturer.

I dont know how Krups does it, and I dont care, this machine is just one of the best on the market today, and probably thee best when we're talking about the quality of the end result...which is all that matters. 5 beans

Home and Kitchen Review Best cup of coffee I've ever had.
In the last 3 years I've been through Cuisinart, Melitta, and the new Mr. Coffee and they were all disappointing. This is my first Krups so I didnt know what to expect but WOW, WHAT COFFEE! I dont know how they do it, but this makes the best coffee I've ever had. I havent had a problem with drips or spills others have mentioned, and I dont fiddle with the controls, just turn it on and brew a full pot in around 3-4 minutes. Fantastic!

Home and Kitchen Review It's a Honey!
Good compact vac for use in smaller dwellings. It could be used in bigger homes or apts but you need to keep in mind the cord isn't too long. My place is 538.5 square feet so it is ideal for me. It rolls smoothly over shorter carpets opposed to the thick types. The filter is $10.00 to replace found easily at Eureka's website. To avoid frequent costly filter replacements, I go through and manually clean it myself. Of course you could replace it every time it is full but that will cost you. Overall you will be very pleased with this vac. I have had mine for about 2 months and still love it. Other reviews pointed out that is not very good on bare floors. True. Understand that the exhaust does blow out the front, hence causing dust and dirt to blow. So if you want a product to sweep floors buy something specifically for that job. Although you could sweep the dirt into a pile and use the hose to suck up the pile.

My favorite feature overall is the setting that allows you to have suction from the bottom of the vac or just the hose (ideal for stair use and around edges).

Again, look around and compare and contrast. Hope this helps.

Home and Kitchen Review Phenomenal!
Today, after my old vacuum bit the dust, I went and stood in the vacuum isle for an hour contemplating and toiling over which one to get. I was so skeptical about this little machine because it is very small. But it had this "33" cleaning rating on the box where others had 20's so for the price, I gave it a shot. I got it home and took it all out of the box and groaned at the thought of putting it all together. Took five minutes and no screwdriver. I looked at it and thought, this thing is so small how well could it work? Ok, I plugged it in, Nice smoothly quiet engine. Not loud. Impressive. Somehow it seems to glide. Nice! Easy to push on my wtw carpet. Instantly I saw "stuff" spinning around inside the canister. This thing is so easy to push, (great for my back & neck), has amazing suction power, and best of all its SO flexible, it goes under EVERYTHING, even my entertainment center. It's narrow so it fits in places my old wide vac didn't. It fit under my dresser, nightstand, under every table and small place, awesome! It even fit between the toilet and the walls, got all the dust bunnies out from every crack and crevice in every room. Leaves nice brush marks in the carpet so you can see where you've been. I popped the attachments on the hose and they fit so nicely, no struggling, I then dusted everything in the living room. I did half the house and went to empty the canister, HOLY #&@#! the thing was packed! Like my old vac must not have been working at all! I was never so thrilled to see so much dirt in my life. It was so "fun" to push this little demon around I vacummed the whole house twice. I only stopped becuase it was 11:30 and didn't want to wake the world. My name is Joanne, I live in New Jersey and I'm not paid by anybody to say this. I don't leave reviews for stuff but always read them. I really believe in this little Eureka.. it is phenomenal for the price. I highly recommend it. I think I'll give everyone I know one for Christmas.

Home and Kitchen Review LOVE IT!
I got this used off Craiglist at half the price, but had I known it worked so well I would've paid full price. This vacuum is awesome! I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about but it has not scratched my hardwood floors at all. It works great, has amazing suction for something so cheap and small, and it's designed like everything should be. Every little attachment fits right on the vacuum and doesn't fall off while you're using it, the cup is easy to clean (though the filter takes some work, but that's what you get w/ a bagless).

The only drawback (not even that much) is that it scares my cat because it is so loud :-) However, I do actually enjoy vacuuming now!

Home and Kitchen Review Not what they used to be since Rival took over.
I have to agree with the reviewers who were dissatisfied with the quality. My dad bought an electric 6qt almost 8 yrs ago, before we found out Rival bought out White Mountain. Our freezer seems to have used a lot of original White Mountain parts and has held up fairly well.

I have recently had a chance to see what Rival has done to cut costs when I saw new freezers that my dad's neighbor and brother bought. Needless to say, we were not overly impressed. The ice-cream cans aren't made as sturdy, and the wooden handle on my uncle's hand crank broke in less than a year, although the crank mechanism still works fine. Both freezers are over a year now and still look new.

The wooden tubs still look the same, and I wish my dad had kept the metal hardware from the freezer we had 30 yrs ago when the tub rotted away so I could have gotten a replacement tub for it. Anyway, we've been happy enough with it that I have been looking for a crank assembly for it to show my son (who is 4) how to make real ice cream.

Yes, the metal hardware on the tub is going to rust with use. The center post in the bottom of the tub will rust the most. The hardware on the top of the tub can probably be kept clean longer if you use an old toothbrush and lots of running water to clean them, but we haven't worried about that on ours. The surface rust doesn't affect the performance.

Btw - to the poster who was upset an not finding rock salt in the summer - it's not that important what salt you use. My dad's family has never used rock salt in over 50 yrs with White Mountain freezers, only standard table salt.

Home and Kitchen Review Good, but this size is small
I have 6 silicone baking mats, and 3 are Silpat. The others are cheaper, 100% silicone that I use for non-baking. Mats like these are a worthy investment, and perform very well in the oven. But if you use standard 1/2 size sheet pans (like I do), you will want the larger size. When I am baking 200-300 cookies, it really helps to have a tray all ready to go while another is cooling and yet another is in the oven. You'll get a lot of use of the mats if you take good care of them.

Home and Kitchen Review Used daily - a must have
We leave Silpat-lined baking pans in both ovens for use daily. "Grilled cheese" sandwiches broil in the oven using less fat on Silpat without a gooey mess. NOTHING sticks! We wouldn't be with them!!

Home and Kitchen Review One of the best things to happen to baking
I first discovered Silpats while I was in Culinary School and had a baking and pastry course. I was amazed at how well these things work. And after using them at school I had to buy some for my own home. You never have to worry about items sticking ever again. You can literally bake anything on these. I have used mine to bake cookies, biscuits, rolls, pastries, even frozen foods like pizza rolls and chicken nuggets cook up well on these. And you never have to use oils or cooking spray because nothing sticks. They are also easy to clean and store well. But I doubt you will ever need to store the Silpat because you will be using it all the time. So whether you are an occasional baker or bake all the time, a Silpat is an investment worth making.

Home and Kitchen Review Norpro Ice Pop Maker
I always knew I could make better Popsicles than I could buy in a store.

Home and Kitchen Review works flawlessly
Works flawlessly. My sons will nto stop making sugar free popsicles with this product......very nice craftmanship.

Home and Kitchen Review Fun Product!
All around a great product. Hard to get the sticks in straight, but other than that, I have no complaints. The shape and size of the popsicles is just perfect, and I like the fact that you use disposable wooden sticks. I love what you can make with them. My friends think it's a riot when I make them popsicles, and I like making them cause I can make healthy popsicles that taste great! My favourite is frozen pureed fruit...

Home and Kitchen Review Great Product
This was a simple and easy to use product. I didn't even have to read the directions on how to remove the blades. The only downfall is that you can't use very big vegetables. I use it to make home made french fries. I had to cut the potato in order for it to fit in the cutter. Aside from that it's a great product.

Home and Kitchen Review Two hands for one hand cutter
In my quest to cut potatoes into french fries without removing any of my fingers, I picked up this international and progressive French fry cutter. Now I am not sure what makes this cutter international or progressive, but it does cut. The size of the unit is somewhat smaller than I would have preferred which results in somewhat smaller fries. However, the cutter performs the task fairly well. Although the grip is made for one hand, be prepared to have your other hand close to give it a err...hand. Quite a bit of force is required to complete the cutting task. Not so much that you need heavy machinery, but enough that I was surprised.

For an intermittent tool in your kitchen arsenal that costs under $10, I say this cutter is a good buy. Happy cutting!

Home and Kitchen Review Well designed and versatile veggie/fry cutter!
This is a fabulous all in one cutter! It neatly cuts so many items into perfectly shaped finger food, the possibilities are endless...carrot and celery sticks, zuchini and squash sticks, french fries, homemade mozzarella sticks... If you can fit it in the cutter, it'll slice it. In most cases, items are easily cut. It does take a sturdy hand to press the bar down, but nothing my ten year old hasn't been able to cut. I would say, consider the density of the food item before selecting the size of cutting grate. The denser the vegetable, the more force it's going to take to press the cutting bar down through a small grate. You may have to adjust the thickness of the cut based on your ability and strength to press the bar down. For instance, shoe string potatoes are quite a challenge, although if that's what you want, if you don't have the arm strength to man handle the bar, I'd suggest buying the "Alligator onion chopper," it masters small hashbrown type cuts on potatoes and onions! The Alligator only has one sized cutting screen, very small. I can't tell you why it works so much better on these dense food items, maybe the blades are sharper... So, consider what you're going to use this Progressive slicer for, in most cases, it's the right answer. I personally have two choppers, the "Alligator onion chopper" for onions and diced/shoe string potatoes, and this "Progressive Cutter" for all other applications. I use them enough that I know what works best on each chopper, and I'd rather have the right application tool than get less than satisfactory results from just one product.

Home and Kitchen Review Convenient and easy!!!
Great way to make quick lattes and shakes. The first one I bought died after a few days, but they replaced it and the replacement has worked great!

Home and Kitchen Review Excellent choice
This whip really does work great. I've worked in a couple coffee shops, and I'll tell you, it's almost (and I mean ALMOST, and that complimentarily) just as good, but the best way to get the foam cap is to heat the milk in a pan on the stove, then whip the whole bunch--the wide surface area will give you maximum foam. Block it with a spoon when you poor it into the espresso (of coffee), then spoon the foam onto the top. The travel case is also ideal for me, since I travel a lot.

Home and Kitchen Review OK, it really works!
I was skeptical about Aerolatte, so I went with the cheapest version. Once I got the hang of it, it really worked -- just as advertised. When this one wears out I may go for the deluxe model.
