Things you should know.
Looking for the Glasses / Cups shown on the box...........Does anyone know where they can be purchased?
They're glass with a chrome decor over them. The chrome has hole designs on it.
I personally LOVE this machine! It looks so nice and is really easy to use. I have had NO problems with it at all.

Does anyone know where to find the glasses pictured on the box?I have done numerous searches and gone to many department store websites looking for them. They are glass with a chrome design partially covering the glass. The chrome has circular cut outs in it. Sooooooo cool looking! I really want to find where I can buy this set! Oh, and the coffee/espresso machine is AWESOME! I love how it looks and it's very easy to use.

DisasterI too replaced a wonderful Krups 12 cup coffee maker we had for many years after its recent death from old age. So we bought a FRM2 and it proceeded to leak all over the counter. We figured that the leak had to be a unique problem (We should have heeded an earlier review) and traded for another new one. This one leaked just as badly and for a bonus, the program wouldn't set properly. I have now purchased a Cuisinart DCC-1000 at a comparabele price. It is in my opinion a much sturdier machine
A real step down from our old ProAromaNoodles' review is just about exactly what I was going to write. Our old ProAroma was a better machine. It's hard to believe anyone at Krups would think it was an improvement to lock out all controls except "off" when the machine is on program mode. You want to change the program? Set the program "off" time longer? You have to turn it off to do that. Then, when you turn it back on to keep the coffee warm, it thinks you want to brew a new pot, and starts an "empty reservoir" alarm. The automatic start program doesn't cancel after it runs, it stays on. Uhhh... Krups? It's obvious that I would have to actively tend to the machine - like add a filter? Coffee? Water? before it makes coffee again. Wouldn't it make sense to assume that I would be capable of setting the program again at that time? Krups thinks you should be forced to remember to turn the program off (not possible when it's still warming the carafe!) if you don't want to use it. If you forget LATER, after the program time has run it's course, it starts the "empty reservoir" alarm nice and early Saturday morning. Our ProAroma was completely programmable any time - and it had more features. This machine is definitely a step down. Oh, wait - I forgot - the carafe has a lid that won't come off, won't open far enough to stay open by itself, and stained brown in a month. How am I supposed to fit this in the dishwasher - with the lid closed? I guess so. I wish the old carafe with the snap-on, snap-off lid would fit this thing. OK, so I got it for $60, much cheaper than the last few (non e-bay) ProAromas would have cost me. But I feel bad that I didn't just spend $20 on Mr. Coffee. I think this machine was not only built in China, it was designed there by someone who had never laid hands on a ProAroma. Coffee is fine, but so is it when I boil water in a kettle and pour it over the grounds in a Melitta filter...this is just handier. The machine feels sturdy, not cheap. My gripe is in the programming. Oh, yeah, I forgot - they moved the electronics back under the heating element, where coffee and water get spilled on it. Not up high like the ProAroma's.
Krups FME2 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Difficult to ProgramWe had a Krups 12 cup ProAroma, which we really liked. After it died, we decided to try the Krups FME2 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker with Glass Carafe. The Krups FME2 was very difficult to program. The timer was not too bad, but it was definitely more difficult than the Krups ProAroma timer had been. It was hard to determine whether the timer was set to "On" or "Off". It was almost impossible to set the length of time that we wanted the coffee pot to remain on. It made a good cup of coffee. And the glass carafe was easy to pour and did not drip. But we were still unable to use the coffeemaker for the purposes for which we intended it. We returned the Krups FME2 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker

Good replacement itemHave a model 963 in white. The replacement carafe isn't *quite* the same--the handle is slightly different and it's a bit larger, so that the original lid doesn't snap in firmly. Make sure you keep your lid, as this one does NOT come with the lid! All in all, a good replacement. I am pleased.

KRUPS R466-71 CRYSTAL AROME 10 CUP COFFEE MAKER WHITEI Purchased the krups 10 cup recondtioned coffee maker and im very pleased it looks brand new, makes great coffee takes up little counter space, makes coffee in snap, love the design i love krups products in general, you do have to replace duo water filters im guessing probably twice year you can purchase these filter over the internet for i think you get two filters for 10.00 so thats not two bad, the only thing i didnt like was the lid doesnt pop up for easy cleaning but i just put it in the dish washer and it comes out clean so if your on budget or just want a great coffee maker this is the unit for you
Krups Crystal AromeI have had this coffee maker for over 2 years and it is one of the best I have had. It brews a full 10 cup pot in less than 5 minutes and you can pour a cup anytime during the brew cycle. The water filters are getting more difficult to find and are approxmiately $8 for 2 which you replace every 80 or so cycles, there is a light that lets you know when to replace the filter which is very easy to reset after you replace the filter. I also use it to make iced tea by placing two family sized tea bags in the pot and brewing 10 cups of water and it works great. You can also set the burner to cut off automatically from 1-4 hours (you decide). In simplest terms it is a great coffee maker and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Great tasting coffeeI'm not sure if it's the filtration system, but this coffee maker brews very smooth coffee. I highly recommend it.

This particular model we chose becuase of the stainless steel on it and it does look great in our kitchen. It makes great coffee and we have no complaints with the coffee.
The buyer should know that the expresso maker and coffee maker CANNOT function at the same time (not even warming). The unit sends the power to one side or the other. Our old Krups unit didn't have that hang-up.
We also have not had great luck with the expresso maker itself.
It comes with no expresso "pot". So you need to have something to pour the water in with, or pull the removable plastic tank out and fill it (its like a piece of tupperware). Becuase the removable expresso tank is tall, if you have overhead cabinets you'll have to pick up the machine and move it out to put water in the plastic tank.
You also have to have your own expresso cups, and you must have two of them that will fit side by side to put them under the expresso maker, which always discharges into two streams.
Outside of that, we have difficulty making espresso and steam with it, and when we are successful it's time consuming. The expresso maker itself has a light indicating when it is heating. You have to wait for the heating of the expresso maker, in order to make expresso.
When it is done heating you can push another button and it will make a portioned quanity of water for your use as expresso or steam. It seems like there is never enough water in that quantity, so often the expresso comes up short.
We're going to get rid of it and try another model, like the 867. Its cheaper and looks more flexible. This model (the 888) seems very energy conservative, and my wife and I would really appreciate that if we were living on the space shuttle or in solar home.
Hate to do, but I have to give it 1 star. Coffee makers have been around forever, and the value to the machine is the expresso.Perhaps it was a little over engineered. I wouldn't sell you mine used. It just doesn't work, and I'd be concerned you would not be happy with it.
