An accident waiting to happen
Great coffee, bad engineeringI have had this coffee maker for about a year now, and my patience is finally gone. The aroma control really does make a GREAT cup of coffee, which is why I have put up with this piece of junk for this long. The problem is that the release on the aroma control tends to fail, so the coffee spills over and I end up with coffee all over my desk. I'm not even going to bother fixing the thing as I am not convinced it will ever be a good coffee maker.

20+ years old and still going strongI've had this coffee maker since high school and have used it regularly ever since. I recently broke the carafe, which I will replace and hopefully use for another 20 years!
The coffee supposedly brews in the top part of the machine for maximum flavor and then at just the right time it releases the coffee into the pot. Well that's great but what happens when the brew basket stops releasing the coffee? It overflows all over your counter instead of into the coffee pot. And yes this happened to me after only a week of use.
So then I tried to get Krups to replace the basket and it was out of stock. And I wanted replacement water filters and they were backordered at least a month. And if I wanted to ship it away for about a month they would fix it. But if they don't have the basic parts, how are they gonna fix it anyway?????
Kind of like a car maker being out of brake pedals or steering wheels. I'm done with Krups.
Argghhh! I took it back and bought the Cuisinart dcc-1200 instead. It is much better.
