Krups Review Very spiffy toaster
This toaster is very good looking and feels pretty substantial for the price. It doesn't have that super-duper professional look and feel you get with a $100+ toaster, but it's much better aesthetically than others in its price range. Larger slices of bread don't quite fit, but they toast pretty well even without flipping them around.

Krups Review If you have the counter space, here's a toaster for you!
Bulkier than most 2-slice toasters, but works great!

Krups Review excellent
Very nice product. Well constructed, attractive toaster. Does what toasters are supposed to do.

Krups Review Cheap and not worth it
Pros: Cheap. I cannot find anything else since when it works you get coffee, nothing outstanding about it.

Cons: milk steam is too high so you have to keep the cup up while it steams milk, unless you are using a big jar with a lot of milk in it. It brings hot water instead of steam when it starts warming up, it should have an open/close valve you can use when the machine is ready to bring out some steam instead of hot water. It can get messy. You can not regulate the amount of water that goes to the coffee or the steam that goes to the milk, it seems that the valve is just an open/close valve.

Bottom line: I wish I bought something else no matter if it is a few bucks expensier.

Krups Review Glad We Made This Purchase
We were spending so much money at Starbucks, that we decided to get our own machine. This Krups model was our choice and we are TREMENDOUSLY happy with it. We've had it for about 2 months now with no problems.

My husband and I make two large lattes every morning and each have two on the weekends. It's very easy to use and clean. We also purchased the Krups 20 oz frothing pitcher.

We make a full pot of espresso first. Then we add a little more water to the tank to steam the milk (carefully). Pour the espresso, pour the steamed milk and we're good to go.

We have to put a mug under the frothing pitcher to get the spout into the milk, but that's really the only con. When we're done, and release the remaining steam (very important), we fill our pitcher with water, put it under the spout and let it sit while we get ready for work. It makes it so much easier to wipe the milk off of the spout. Even with cleaning, it takes about 5 minutes for the whole ritual. While it's brewing or steaming, we do other things.

As long as it's taken care of, cleaned after every use, and used carefully, this machine will do you right.

Krups Review Great little machine for the price! Fantastic purchase.
I was hesitant to spend my money based on the reviews here, but since there wasn't really anything else in my price range, I gave it a shot. I've had it for nearly 3 months now, and use it at least once daily to make a caffe mocha or cappuchino. I lost the plastic frother in the first few weeks but had no problem at all ordering another one from Krups (it was about a dollar). And you can use the steam attachment without or without the plastic frother.

This is a powerful machine! It has saved me lots of money since I no longer go to Starbucks at all....in fact, I prefer my made-at-home espresso over the coffee house baristas'. It makes an absolutely perfect shot of espresso and froths milk like crazy. Delicious! I can't believe something that costs so little works so well.

It has a few quirks that I'm willing to live with for the price. It works best to brew the espresso first then turn it to steam to warm and froth the milk using the remainder of your water. If I let it brew the water all the way down, it leaves a nasty burnt coffee ground smell that makes everyone in my house complain. And you have to hold the cup of milk up high the whole time you're frothing, which is not comfortable for someone with carpal tunnel syndrome (like me). If you try to froth your milk first, like the instructions suggest, you have to wait and wait until it starts steaming, then it will spray a bit of hot water before it starts to steam correctly. All of the above is corrected by brewing the espresso first, then quickly switching to steaming/frothing. The metal steam attachment is easy to clean with a damp scrubber sponge, and the rest of it wipes down quickly.

Like I said, it has a few quirks that I have figured out how to get around, and overall I love, love, love my Krups Allegro. Here's my better-than-Starbucks mocha recipe: mix one shot espresso with 3 TBS Ghirardelli sweet ground chocolate (in the baking aisle at Target), add 3/4 c 2% milk, steamed and frothed. Top with whipped cream or sprinkle chocolate powder on top. Easy and delicious!

Krups Review GREAT FOR NEW JUICERS
This juicer is good, easy to clean, reliable, and "cute" in the kitchen. Its a good starter for those who want to try out juicing. I love mine but will probably upgrade to something that doesn't waste as much of the fruit. But its fully functional, reliable, and worth the price!

Krups Review A different take than some reviewers...
I got mine about a month ago and have been pleasantly surprised by it. Some of the comments on here like "good for folks new to juicing" don't completely stack up, and I don't mean that as against this juicer.

My thoughts:

1. Citrus: it does do it, but I would tell anyone to stick to a citrus juicer for citrus anyway, they really do work better.

2. Pulp: it was not so completely pulp free as some people made it sound in their reviews but it IS very LOW on pulp. I actually find that a good thing because my children often gag on too much pulp from the vegetable matter. It tickles their throats too much.

3. The one that really gets me in the reviews is "will upgrade to something that doesn't waste so much" because this is really a matter of what fruits and veggies you can get and for the cost. There are juicers our there like the VitaMix that purify everything. Aside from sometimes making some pretty untasty products, there are other reasons not to consume all of the plant fiber. Many books on juicing point to research that much of the junk from herbicides and the like are stored in the fiber of the fruit or vegetable, so that if you are unable to get (or afford) 100% organic produce all the time then perhaps for your juicing you want to stick to something that WILL extract most of the fiber. For me, I have limited organic availability at my current job location, and even when I do I can't always afford it: so I by organic for what I am going to eat in my salad and then use the other stuff for juicing. Sure, I would love to buy 100% organic but again, it isn't always possible. And that is not from a juicing "newbie" who just doesn't know any better.

The cleaning I found easy enough with the exception of the grinder/mesh section. My dishwasher alone couldnt handle getting the fiber out of it so I had to invest (a small price) in a plastic scrubbing brush to get most of the fiber out while it was still moist. Generally as long as you don't let it sit and dry out the clean up is easy enough. Certainly it cleans up easier than the Braun I used to have and it makes a more palatable juice than my super $300 mixer which doesn't extract pulp -- it does blueberries MUCH better than my includes all fiber juicer because the berries foam up too much in that one and produce a fairly unusable product. In my experience so far it has spun out the juice and left the foam in the basket.

Krups Review Coffee
I bought this as a replacement for the many carafes I have broken since buying the coffee pot.

Krups Review a Kick-Ass Carafe!
This is one kick-ass carafe! It's pyrex & plastic at it's finest. I highly recommed this kick-ass carafe.

Krups Review This Works Great with my Coffee Maker
I checked the bottom of my coffee maker for its number and matched it to this carafe. The carafe is great and fits.
It arrived more quickly than I expected (added bonus).

Krups Review Decent drip, weak expresso
I have to admit I've been using this machine for a couple of years and quite enjoyed it, although the expresso has never really been up to par with commercial expresso (and always had some grounds mixed in). And it can't really handle it if you pack the expresso grounds a little.

I recently visited a friend's house and tried their expresso machine - WOW! The difference was quite dramatic - I'm definitely chucking this baby to get a 'real' expresso machine. (I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 2 because it's a good value for folks who aren't so picky - it's always impressed visitors and made decent pseudo-expresso).

Also, you've really got to stay and watch the coffee if you want to foam your milk because it only foams for about 90 seconds. So don't turn your back to cook the rest of your wife's breakfast.

Krups Review Krups 867-42 II Caffe Bistro 10-Cup Coffee/4-Cup Espresso Maker
I am really pleased with this machine. It makes a wonderful cup of regular coffee and using it for espresso and cappuchino is quite easy. When I opened it I was a little concerned because it looks complicated - but its not. Directions are clear. My purchase experience was great as well. I recommend it. Its a tidy package and I don't have to litter my counter tops with several coffee machines - this does it all.

Krups Review Upgrade from Cuisinart Grind & Brew
We've used the Cuisinart Grind & Brew for over 8 years, but recently decided we needed an upgrade! After searching and reading reviews by others, decided on this machine. We were not disappointed; although this machine doesn't grind the beans, it makes a great cup of regular coffee, and the espresso and cappuccino features are very easy to use, and make a great cuppa, as my Aussie Mother-in-law says! My husband also likes the easy clean up, since that's his job!~

Krups Review Just Replace The Machine
This carafe is too fragile. I like the underlying Krups but after too many broker carafes I went with a nice Melitta at my office and another nice Krups (with a better carafe design) in my kitchen.

Also, early versions of this carafe woul dribble.

And the cost of this carafe is outrageous compared to carafes made by Krups or others.

There are other nice coffee machines that make good coffee and don't have a fragile carafe.

Buy another machine with a better carafe. Buy another Krups if you like but avoid this carafe.

Krups Review Dribble glass
If you're looking for a *replacement* carafe and already own the coffee-maker then you probably already know this, but in case you don't then be aware that this model has a "dribble" problem.

Especially when the carafe is full, the coffee tends to overflow either side of the spout and run down the side of the carafe onto the table/counter/floor/etc.

The carafe looks nice, but too much consideration was given to esthetics and not enough to functionality.

Krups Review replacement carafe
The carafe was a perfect replacement for the one that I broke.
I received the product within a few days.

Thank you.

Krups Review Why I'm buying another espresson carafe
I just bought the Krups espresso machine at costco yesterday and the carafe breaks on me. Its super fragile but i don't have a choice but to replace it. The machine sucks and its kind of dangerous. If i could return this machine and blow 600 dollars on a seaco automatic espresso machine...i would.

Krups Review SIZE WRONG
Picture states 4 x 41/4 size measures 3 x 3 1/4 inch. Not the size that was stated with the picture.

Krups Review Replacement carafe
I purchased this carafe to replace one for the Krups 1500 coffee/espresso machine which I received for Christmas. I believe it will work, but the handle is attached with a screw which looks like it requires a star shaped screwdriver. I cannot find a screwdriver with a long enough shaft to fit in the handle and undo the band to replace it with the handle and lid which was on the original carafe. Will have to cut off the handle, I believe.

Krups Review Carafe Lid had a defective lid
This is my 3rd carafe replacement. The first two cracked under pressure. (Thin walls cracked when washed). This one had a defective lid that falls off whe pouring the coffee. I still love Krups coffee makers and hope that the next carafe I order is not defective.

Krups Review Great Replacement!
I accidentally broke the pot on my coffee maker. The Krups replacement carafe was easily found on Amazon. I tried some other sites and got nothing but confusion, but Amazon made it easy and I of course love the replacement pot. The only problem now is that I have this shiny new pot with a slightly less shiny maker.

Krups Review Not so bad!
My carafe just broke too -- but it took me 3 years to do it. I banged it against my porcelain sink all the time without incident, but this time was just too much apparently. I do not find it that hard to clean this carafe nor to replace the lid. What I DO have a problem with is the fact that the replacement isn't being stocked at the store where I bought the maker because --- they are onto different models now of course! However I can find the filters locally, which is good. Hopefully Krups got a hint from some of the older reviews -- looks like most of the bad ones were early on in this model's life.

Krups Review Not as good as the previous Pro model
First and foremost this product makes excellent coffee.
But (there's always a but isn't there) the water feed usually creates bubbles in the watermeasure tube and is difficult to fix each time...
the Programming control does not have a manual override; it is supposed to not go on if there is no water in the coffeemaker but sometimes it cuts on at the scheduled time even if the water has not been loaded in it...
It is better, and safer, to unprogram it if you do not intend for it to go on at the scheduled time.

Krups Review Almost perfect
Let me start by saying two things:

1. I love coffee. Personally, not counting my wonderful wife and staff at the office, I drink at least two _pots_ of coffee per day. Yes, that is over 120 fluid ounces every day, seven days a week. Needless to say I was pleased with each of the new health benefits announced regarding excess coffee consumption!

2. After researching reasonably priced, reliable coffee makers, we bought two of these Krups FME2-14 units: One to replace our aging Braun, and the other for our daughters' apartment. This review encompasses experiences from both households.

There are many things to love about this coffeemaker, and a few (3) minor issues. I'll touch on the issues first: With typical German precision, the water reservoir is designed to hold 60 fluid ounces, or 12 5-ounce cups worth. Not more, but I'm sure it can handle less, being well equipped with a 1-3 cup "small pot" mode. However, if (1) you launch into cleaning it and brewing coffee without really reading the user manual, and (2) you have the tendency to brew the fullest possible pot (as a conspicuous consumer such as myself might), you will quickly discover that the overflow port in the back wall of the water reservoir works exceedingly well. I did. As I wiped up the extra few cups of water rapidly dispensed upon my counter I made the mental note to only fill it with 12 cups henceforth. This is, obviously, a user issue; others who are experienced with pots brewing less than advertised will be pleased to note that 12 cups of water in really translates to 12 cups of coffee out. You do not need to overfill this coffeemaker's reservoir, but you may have to relearn some behaviors.

The glass carafe, while well made and shaped in handling terms, is thinner walled than previous pots we've owned. This has two effects: First, the coffee cools faster when the hot plate turns off. Not that my coffee sits around too long, but if this is a potential issue for you I would buy the insulated carafe model. Second, it does not withstand much rough handling, as indicated by our need to purchase a replacement already for the daughters. One "light bump" in the sink was sufficient. It did make me wonder if the same engineer who designed windshields for the 60s VW Beetle was involved... regardless, don't whack it or you'll be picking up the pieces as well as the tab.

The final issue I have is the engineer's choice of material for making the feet: Four rubberized knobs give the coffeemaker a firm grip on your countertop. Unfortunately too firm if you keep the unit under a close overhang as we do. It does mean you have to lift the unit slightly when moving it in or out, something that's easier to do when empty than full due to the overflow port mentioned earlier. Again, this is easily fixed with something slippery (like a silicone glide pad) that the machine can rest upon.

And as you can tell, none of these issues are true defects. In every other regard the Krups FME2-14 has been the best under $100.00 coffeemaker I have ever owned. The controls are logical and easy to operate, and it makes great brew. Unlike many inexpensive units, the steam does not readily escape from vents or cracks in the heating chamber or drip basket, so you can place it in a more confined space than others (bearing in mind the rubber feet) and it blends well in a modern kitchen. Most importantly, the product itself - the coffee - is consistent time after time. Whatever your personal formula for the perfect cuppa you'll get it here!

Krups Review Best coffeemaker I've ever owned.
I was a little concerned about opening up shop away from home, 3 states away, and having to leave my tried and true Krups Pro Aroma behind. Granted, its an 8 year old model, but it made a great cup of coffee, and I had mastered the fairly simple interface for programming and setup.

In my search, I read a LOT of negative reviews about the new Krups product family. Really not a surprise cause even the Pro Aroma had its many quirks, but still.....the coffee. So, after reading a bunch of bad reviews on Braun, Mr Coffee, Cuisinart, and Krups coffeemakers, I figured $60 was worth the risk to plunk down on this model. My first impression when I opened the box was that the coffemaker was solid and well constructed, but that the carafe was too light and thinly formed. But after two weeks of use I really cant find anything to complain about.

Yes, the carafe is very light, but I like it. And it pours well with no drips. I havent yet attempted to program the machine cause thats not a necessity for me, but hit the "ON" button and in about 5 minutes you have a fast, hot, and extraordinarily flavored pot of coffee. And this is honestly the best coffee I've ever had from this machine, even much better than my old Pro Aroma from the same manufacturer.

I dont know how Krups does it, and I dont care, this machine is just one of the best on the market today, and probably thee best when we're talking about the quality of the end result...which is all that matters. 5 beans
