The thing I hate about this is cleaning out the grounds..the easy way is rinsing it out in the sink, however it's no good to have all these going through your garbage disposal. Otherwise it was a great idea.

I wasn't happy with this product, I used it in my Krups coffee pot and it seemed to let a lot of grounds through. Maybe I am just not fond of the gold filters and/or not used to using them. Either way I stopped using this filter, I'm not saying it not good, just that I had different expectations.

I have a combination Krups unit in white for both the coffee and expresso that is so old that I don't think they make that color any more. Bought this filter the day I got the machine use it almost every day. I use Folgers gourmet dark in this unit and with that size of grinds have no problem with residue in the pot. It is as good as gold. The brightness of the gold faded long ago but performance remains the same. My white pot lid however is bowning with age. The filter is older than my grand children and still works well. Hand wash don't scrub.

I have had my combo unit for 6 months and have used it constantly since purchase. I am not a true coffee geek. Therefore, my opinion of espresso's and the ability is that of a novice. With this said though I am actively searching for an affordable espresso machine, under $[...].

The good.

1) It was cheap. I picked up mine on clearance for about $[...].
2) The frothier, it works like a champ (once you figure it out)
3) Not too difficult to clean the frothier
4) It is dependable. The first 2 months I owned it; i got on an espresso/cappuccino/latte kick and made about 8 a day for family and friends. I am not kidding, at least 8 a day.
5) If you want to learn how to make espresso and cappuccinos then this will make you learn.

The Bad:

1) The coffee pot is a pain to use. Whenever you pour water into the unit, it spills. Whenever you pour coffee, it spills. It makes a mess no matter what. Maybe I am used to Mr. Coffee and the ability to pour coffee without it catching on the lip. (This is the most annoying thing and the main reason why I am getting rid of it)
2) The espresso side takes a little work to figure out the right amount of water to use to make an espresso to your liking.
3) Mineral build up in the espresso "boiler". If you have hard water, buy distilled water
4) In order to produce enough froth for 2 cups of cappuccino, you need to utilize the "steam" disk and run the espresso machine. Until you get good at this, the milk gets cold before the espresso is done or vice versa.
5) The plastic clip will break off easily.
6) NO AUTOMATIC power off on either the coffee or the espresso side of the device.

We bought the Caffe Duomo late last year in hopes of being able to make cappuchino (for me), and Espresso (for my husband), as well as regular coffee. After several failed attempts at making espresso, and froth milk, according to the manual's instructions, I decided to call customer service to find out if the problem was the machine, or me. After being assured by the representative that the problem was with the machine, I followed her instructions and sent the machine in to their authorized service center(had to pay for the shipping myself). Four weeks after having sent my machine in, I got a call from the technician saying there was nothing wrong with that machine, and that you simply cannot make espresso and froth milk at the same time with THIS model. He said that to make froth, you must use the steam plug that comes with the machine, and therefore, must make the espresso, and the froth separately. It is a huge hassle, you have to make the espresso(calculate the amount of water just right,after it finishes turn it off, wait for the machine to stop letting out steam)then remove the canister, and put the plug in, then add more water, wait for it to heat and then froth!! Not to mention, the coffee machine came back worse than it had left. When I called KRUPS to complain, they said I could try to send it in to another service center (and pay shipping again). I am about to take this back to the store where I bought it and try a different brand. I think it is an awful espresso machine, and the service from Krups leaves alot to be desired.

I have had this machine since I moved into my first apartment more than four year ago. It still works great and I use it everyday, sometimes twice a day. The milk frother does a great job as long as you read the instructions and do it correctly, I have never run out steam before the milk was frothed. It's very convienient for a small kitchen because it is so economical on space, especially for a combo machine.

No cup markings on carafe. Carafe is made paper thin so it breaks easily and you have to go and buy another one from Krups.

We needed to replace our 8-year old Krups (it still worked fine, but it was a little crusty), and this serves the purpose. It looks nice, and it makes a good cup of coffee quickly. The timer and auto-off features are a plus. The little dial and clock feel a little flimsy, but they work fine and for price we paid -- compared to the competition -- it's a good deal.

This is not my first krups coffeemaker.It is replacing my 1996 model that still works fine,but the styling was a little outdated and it does not have a timer.I've never had any problems and it made a great cup of joe.
Therefore,krups was my 1st choice for a new coffeemaker and I was not disappointed.This model is very easy to use and the taste of the coffee is excellent!And unlike some other machines,it has a simple and foolproof drip stop mechanism for sneaking a cup while brewing.
This machine has only 2 very minor issues.First,it's a slow brewer.It takes 12-15 min to brew to capacity(this would be a non-issue if using the timer).Second,the white model (which I have)eventually gets stained inside the basket area and on the carafe lid.Other mfrs seem to be aware of this and use black plastic in these areas.Again, this would not be an issue with the black model.
Altogether,a reasonably priced and reliable machine that makes terrific coffee from a great mfr!

Although Consumer Reports rated this model as #2, I have found this a very disappointing purchase. The cheap aluminum parts inside bend all the time jamming the toaster. It toasts very uneavenly and inconsistently. I am very sorry I purchased this toaster. I was expecting much more from a toaster so highly rated but I've learned that Consumer Reports does not always get everything right. Listen to the other warnings and stay away from this toaster. As soon as I find another toaster, this one goes off to Goodwill.

loved it from the start...but now the little wires that support the bread and go up and down have bent and are jamming. It's less than a year old...this just should not be happening with a quality product. I won't do this again!

This is the best toaster I've ever owned. I love the wide slots, I love the defrost option and I love the warming rack. One of the best features is being able to move small pieces of bread or muffins up to a higher level when they're done. Anyone who has had to get an english muffin out of their toaster with a fork can see how awesome that feature is.

The only thing I don't like is the fact that it is fairly light on the back end so when I push the handle it tends to flip up a bit if I don't remember to push softly. Also it was hard to get used to pushing the button below the toast lever to stop the toasting instead of popping it up with the lever.

I myself did have the problem of stripey bread for the first couple of lots but now it's toasting great, perhaps part of the breaking in process?

All in all I would highly reccomend this toaster, it's much better than a $20 toaster and has some great features that I really appreciate.

I bought this item to replace another electric kettle that was made primarily of plastic. I thought this would be a superior product as it is stainless steel. There is a MAJOR design flaw that renders this kettle DANGEROUS.

There is no provision in the design to protect your hands or fingers from the scalding hot metal surface of the exterior of the kettle. The area around the handle is DANGEROUS. The lip around the lid is scalding hot. If you are not extremely careful when lifting the kettle, you can and will burn your knuckles when they contact the body of the kettle. If you are not right on target when you go to remove the top, you will burn your fingers on the kettle. If you are carrying the kettle and your hand/knuckles comes into contact with the body of the kettle, you may drop the thing and scald yourself and anyone nearby.

This is unfortunate, because it is a good looking kettle. I intend to attempt to return it for a refund. I have stopped using it.

My other observation is that it is very noisy compared to the kettle I replaced. It begins to make "boiling" sounds from the water almost immediately upon starting - it is not boiling, of course, but the amount of noise it makes while heating up is odd. Someone in my household heard the kettle "boiling" and poured me a luke warm cup of tea.

Was disappointed in the quality of this Krups Electric Kettle. The base is made from cheap plastic and the top portion of the kettle contains much plastic as well. I purchased a Breville electric kettle a few months prior to this purchase and will be sending this Krups back and getting another Breville. Some company needs to come up with a totally stainless steel model (lid and all). Breville model is more elegant, better design, and has less plastic exposed to boiling water and steam.

I had never used an electric kettle before moving to New Zealand, where everyone has one! I quickly discovered why; so convenient, fast, and efficient. Upon returning to the states, I went looking for a new electric kettle. First I just went down to Target and bought the only one they had; a Hamilton Beach pot. Big mistake! It died in less than two months! The search was on for a better pot. After extensive research, I purhcased the Krups kettle and I couldn't be more pleased! It's fast, easy to clean, and looks great. I really like the fact that there is a water level indicator on both sides of the pot (more handy than you can imagine for us left-handers!) The kettle truly boils the water (unlike some kettles that seem to shut off the minute the first bubble is formed). Between my tea-making and my two teenagers instant noodle and instant oatmeal making, this kettle gets a pretty good work-out everyday and its holding up like a champ. I enthusiastically give this Krups kettle a thumbs up!

I was excited about buying this machine. When I tried it first, I thought that the coffee was pretty decent and loved the ease of preparing coffee. However, after having the machine for 5 days, it started getting very noisy and spraying coffee in a wide circle around the cup. Also, it did not measure correctly -once it just emptied the whole tank and the cup ran over, it was a mess. I called Krups. They have a special line for complaints with this machine - obviously, they get a lot! When I reported that the machine did not measure the amount of water correctly, I was told "We hear about all kinds of problems with the machine, but this one I have not heard about". Krups asked me to send the machine and they would have a look at it, either fix it or send me a new one. It would take 4-6 weeks. Very disappointed!

Well, I was foolish and bought a Black & Decker (more appropriately named Black & Wrecker) Home Cafe system since I like Millstone coffee. However, within a month that machine was filling water into the drip tray and spilling all over my counter top, making an extremely loud noise every time I used it, not to mention that it finally disintegrated into barely filling my cup with coffee! It was a true nightmare!

But I liked the pods so much that I looked around for another machine that might work better and found the Krups one. I just received it and it makes wonderful coffee without all the cleanup from water spilling and spraying all over the place! This machine is quiet, makes coffee quickly with absolutely no clean up after. Everything I could want in a pod machine!

One Note: If you are someone who loves coffee to the extent that you buy the best coffee, grind it yourself and expect a Starbucks quality, then you should not buy a pod machine. I am someone who normally drinks decaf with splenda and flavoring mixed in or vanilla lattes. For anyone who likes coffee but isn't a snob, this is the machine for you!

After purchasing the Tassimo and returning it, I tried the Krups Home Cafe at a friends house and then purchased my own. The biggest plus in my book is the ability to change the strength of your coffee. No the latte and cappucino are not as good as starbucks but lets face it, this machine doesn't cost several grand either. They have so many drinks to choose from including two new teas! I couldn't be happier and my friends haven't complained either!

My neighbor had this toaster in black/brushed silver and paid $59 at a large kitchen store. Neeedless to say, I was thrilled to find it at half the price and in white. It is simply and stylishly designed, and toasts quickly and evenly. And it can even lift your toast post-toast so you don't have to fish your smaller pieces out with a knife or risk scorching your fingers. Has a built-in warming plate for danish, Defrost and Bagel settings, and a "stop" feature to eject toast mid-toast. Looks and works like toasters twice the price... and SO outperforms the crappy $12 toasters at your local Superstore.

I purchased this as replacement and although it is a nice sturdy carafe, it will not work with model #134 as specified, unless you held on to your original lid. However, when I opened the box there was a note to call Krups if you need to use this carafe with models 134 & 135. Krups was very helpful in getting a cover sent to me at no extra charge, that would work with my model.

Purchased a replacement carafe after the original one borke in the dishwasher. This carafe is durable and great for those like myself that ended up with a broken one.
