Does not freeze ice cream after leaving in the freezer 24 hours.

I received a refurbished Krups as a gift and the ice cream turned out delicious but after only 3 times of using it the seal around the freezing cylinder broke allowing the water from inside to leak out. I followed the instructions on storing and washing to the tee so i can see no reason why this happened beside poor design.

If you follow the directions it makes great ice cream. If you eat the ice cream right after mixing it's creamy. Freeze it over night and it's a little harder and great. I didn't take short cuts I followed the directions and it turned out great! The only thing better is if it mixed itself up and and walked out of your freezer!

We bought this machine (retail price). It worked well for an occasional latte. However, it failed after a few month's use (after warranty). The steamer doesn't work well--either is clogged (despite cleaning) or there isn't enough steam. I bought a better machine--a pump one--at a garge sale for $20 which works much better. I don't like the technolocy of this machine. you have to measure the water to get both the coffee brewed and enough steam for the milk.. I recommend investing in a more advanced machine.

With a little practice and a routine, this machine is pretty easy to use. Others have complained about milk clogging the steamer. I found running some steam into a cup of water will adequately clean it out. For the money, I think this is a great machine.

Cons: Steam wand is too close to the body and it is stationary. It is difficult to fit a container for steamed milk. The unit does not come with a metal cup for steamed milk, so this required an additional outlay of about $10. I can make about 20 oz. of cappuccino/mocha in one execution. This ends up being a single serving for myself. You are limited in the amount of espresso and steamed milk (because of wand configuration) you can make in one batch. Therefore, when making drinks for a larger group, you need to run through the routine multiple times. Quite a hassle. If you plan to use while entertaining, look for a different machine.

I give this item 5 stars based on its price. Sure there are easier machines to use. This one took me about a month to really get in the groove with, but now it's prefection every time. My 3 year old loves to help, and even he can steam the milk (with supervision! ) so it's really not that hard. You just have to watch over the coffee as it drips down and switch the machine off before it gets too watery. I just had a second baby so I need caffeine every day! And don't have time to run downstairs to Starbucks. For the priece of just about 2 weeks worth of starbucks addiction, I have my own little coffee bar going. It's a HUGE hit at playgroups. If this machine breaks tomorrow (which i doubt since its working awesome) it will have already been worth its weight in gold. Or Lavazza. :-)

I was really looking forward to using this coffee maker since it had great reviews. Following the instructions, I was going to run it with water to flush the system. However, when I filled it with water, it immediately started leaking profusely from the bottom of the coffee maker all over my counter. It makes me wonder if Krup ever reconditioned and/or tested it?

This is my second Factory Reconditioned purchase from Amazon. The Krups R467-71 Crystal Arome Programmable 10 Cup Coffee Maker arrived in perfect condition. The coffee is wonderful, and well worth the full value price tag, it not more. The programming feature and setup is a breeze. The glass container is thermal by its design, and keeps the coffee hot for approx. five hours. Its easy to see the amount left and still have a thermal effect. I highly recommend this.

This coffee maker is the best coffee maker I've used. It is extremely ergonomic and easy to use. Since I have arthritis, everything I buy must have an easy-to-hold handle and be lightweight and easy to use. This coffee maker is very stylish and attracts comments on the design when we have company.

Additionally, you can prepare your coffee maker the night before, and it will automatically turn on at the preset time. If your power goes off, you will need to reset the clock and the wakeup time, though.

This unit if bought new is from $70 to $90, depending on where you purchase it. You can't beat this price anywhere.

I purchased TWO of these units and both had the exact same problem: I'd pour water into the unit, turn it on, and come back after a few minutes to fetch my coffee only to find the unit sitting in a huge puddle of water! (Not a very good thing to happen to an electrical appliance, either!) The first unit broke after two years; the second after 4 months! No more Krups for me; I'm only buying Braun or Cusinart from now on.

This coffee maker is the best value within the price range. That said, I too had the leaking issue (see below) the first time I used it. It seems that the "water feed tube" on the bottom of the unit was not set properly. I just turned it over, reached in (there is an opening next to the power cord) and with two fingers pushed it down and secured it. Since then I have had no issues, great hot coffee and an easy to program unit. It seems that Krups is not making this unit any more so the reconditioned unit is the only way to get one. Do not buy the repalcement unit that Krups has for this (the FME2-14) It is a piece of doo-doo.

I purchased one of these units in black about 4-5 months ago and it looked slightly used, but not used enough to make it not worth the price. It has worked absolutely flawlessly and is one of the most sophisticated coffee makers I have ever seen. You can adjust most every aspect of the brewing cycle, warming plate temp, automatic shup-off time, enabling you with a lot of flexibility. This is the second Krups reconditioned product I have purchased and I have not been even remotely dissastified with either of them. I highly recommend this product.

Arrived promptly, looks brand new. During initial test started smoking-the broiler tray required cleaning (oil-I think on the surface).
Toster is slow to heat, slow to toast, slow to bake. Suggests a problem with the thermostat???
I gave it away & bought a new one (Black and Decker) which operates far superior.

I have one, very basic requirement of a toaster oven, that it toasts bread. This toaster consistently took two cycles on the darkest toast setting before it would toast the bread to a light golden color. By the time the toast was toasted, it was so completely dried out it was inedible. I don't know how it works as an oven because it was put back in the box and returned after the toast trials.

I had been looking for a Krups white toaster oven, but didn't want to pay [too much]. I ordered this reconditioned unit on-line last year. It cost [not too much] including shipping, came promptly, and looked perfect. It quit heating entirely after about 2 months of minimal use (about once per week.) I didn't remember where I got it, so it sits in my kitchen holding papers.

This machine is easily operated and makes espresso that tastes as good as any, crema & all. If, however, you plan on making more than one beverage, that is, a beverage that requires the use of the steamer, you will need some time, as you will have to cycle through at least 2 cycles for a single beverage to get it to temp out. But who can complain at this price? Not I, although I am returning mine for replacement/repair due to the fact that it now requires two cycles to steam 8oz of milk, unacceptable at any price. Don't get it if you're playing Barista for more than one.

I purchased this model (new not refurb) about a year ago, and I'm already itching for a bigger badder model. This is an outstanding model to get your feet wet, see if you like the idea of making your own espresso drinks. Originally I bought this to save a few bucks making my own instead of heading to a trendy overprised espresso bar, and it's brought me nothing but joy.

However heed my warning, you could become addicted and need espresso the rest of your life!

I've been making espresso at home with bigger, more expensive machines for nearly 20 years. I bought this for a temporary residence. While the first one to arrive simply did not work, the replacement was perfect. If you grind the coffee right (quite fine but not so small as to go through the holes), use very cold milk and draw shots of about 18 seconds, it makes a great espresso/cappuccino. The measuring spoon/tamper combination is also a nice touch. It's much easier to fill and clean, and makes a better coffee than the smaller Krups machine without the pump. And it has been fine for two of us. It's not as easy or sturdy as our semi-commercial Krups, but it's fabulous for the price. Great for the second home and small enough to pack for trips!

Good product. Easy to use and makes excellent coffee. Better coffee makers available in the market, but for it's price......hard to beat. Go get it :-)
