Quick, powerful, but difficult to adjust
Kenwood Grain MillI purchased this product about a month ago from Amazon, and it has far surpassed our expectations. Being allergic to wheat, I make all our foods from scratch and find that ordering organic bulk grains is a cost efficient way to do this. I purchased the Kenwood mixer several years ago and having only used well known professional mixers in America. I use this mixer almost daily and the grain mill several times a week to grind three or four pounds of grain at a time. I have burned out several different well known models that were supposed to have superior performance. Frankly, I would put the Kenwood mixer and the Grain Mill attachment up against all of them. Never a problem, great performance, easy to maintain and well worth the modest price.

This UK mixer is SweetMaybe the Kenwood isn't very well known in this country, but it is a powerful mixer. It has more watts for the money than other mixers in it's class. With a wide variety of attachments to choose from, it becomes a versatile kitchen center. I am very pleased with this and recommend it highly.

Impossible to service, especially under new owner DeLonghi.I LOVED my Kenwood mixer, but after 5 years of very light use it appeared to simply "die" in the middle of a batch of cookies. The reset button didn't restore anything. When I inquired with a local servicer, I was told that NO PARTS can be obtained in the states, and that this difficulty worsened after DeLonghi's purchase of the manufacturer. I had terrible difficulty myself trying to get through to DeLonghi for servicing information. Fortunately, wiggling a loose wire resurrected the machine and made my husband a hero... until the mixer truly dies. This is a WONDERFUL machine, but FAR, FAR too expensive to market without the prospect of feasible servicing... or without a much longer warranty period! I will greatly hesitate to replace it with another.
Better than Kitchenaid!I love this mixer! It is so much better than a Kitchenaid. The motor is much more powerful and more versatile because of its many speeds and pulse mechanism. It's a great choice! After three years it still works like it was brand new, have never had a problem with it once.
got it from more than 30 yearsIt is own by my family and it still is working great. And it has a huge amount of accessory and a strong motor which you can use to do what ever you want

Impossible to service.I LOVED my Kenwood mixer, a 600 watt chef model carrying the "Rival" label. But after 5 years of very light use it appeared to simply "die" in the middle of a batch of cookies. When I inquired with a local servicer, I was told that NO PARTS can be obtained in the states, and that this difficulty worsened after DeLonghi's purchase of the manufacturer. Not happyI own a Kenwood Major 500. The finish on it is totally pitted and discolored. I used NOTHING but a wet cloth to clean it. I called DeLonghi (bought Kenwood) and they gave me the brush off. Their customer service is very poor, in my opinion. I would think twice about buying a Kenwood/DeLonghi mixer. They have the identical finish as the one I have and I would be afraid it would discolor. Don't look for help from DeLonghi.
Kenwood Major Classic 800 is the best!Six years ago, we bought a Kitchen Aid mixer for $380. We returned it four times, because the motor either burned out within the first month (bread dough for our home) or came already burned out. Then we found the Kenwood Major Classic 800! What a blessing to us! It has run for six years now and never given us a moment of trouble. Makes heavy whole-grain bread dough like no bread machine or Kitchen Aid could. Easier to clean than the Bosch. Heavy stainless steel bowl is healthier for you and more durable than the Magic Mill plastic bowl. It does "walk" a bit on the counter when the dough is heavy, but a non-stick pad would take care of that. It is loud, but it only takes about seven minutes to mix a huge batch of bread dough (3-5 loaves). It doesn't mix two eggs or cream a single batch of butter/sugar--we keep a handmixer for that. We can't say enough good things about this mixer. I even let it "walk" off the counter one day (NOT on purpose, I can assure you)! It hit the floor, but the plug did not come out of the outlet--it just kept mixing! A small ding in the case was all the damage. I don't recommend throwing it on the floor, but just in case your back is turned for one moment too long . . . In our opinion, this is the ONLY mixer to own, and we paid $550 for it (before DeLonghi bought them out) and have never regretted the investment!

There is no comparison to milling your own flour as far as taste is concerned. The only problem I have is in adjusting the texture. They make it sound easier than it actually seems to be, although I might just be a moron and haven't quite figured out how to manipulate the dial well. That's probably the case, actually. In any case, the mill is worth the money, and you will likely not find a better deal on it.
