Stand Mixers Review nice cover but the dye runs badly
I got this cover for my new Kitchen Aid and was pleased with it the first few weeks. Until, that is, I got it a little dirty and needed to run some cold water on a small portion of it to remove a tomatoe sauce splatter. The dark dye started running *immediately* onto the white and I was madly trying to stop it before it got too bad. I fixed it as best as I could but about an inch all around one side on the trim is a light blue from the dye. I now have to remove it whenever I cook anything that may get on it and it's very impractical. Being in a kitchen, this cover is extremely likely to need washing from time to time and I found it just ridiculous that this is basically impossible to do without ruining it.

Stand Mixers Review Nice Cover, Nice Compliment to a kitchen
Being a bachelor, I know I needed a little look of the home comfort, and this quilted cover gives the kitchen a warm cozy feel. I like the idea of preventing splashes of food not being able to get on the mixer. I like to give the mixing bowl and utensils a quick rinse before I use them. What the cover prevents is the need to do a prolonged soak and scrub to get dried food off of it. The cover fits well. I haven't really bothered to put a cookbook in the pocket. I like the look with the pocket the way it comes.
I like the fact that I know my stand mixer will remain scratch free, and keep that new look for a lot of years because of the cover.

Stand Mixers Review This is no cover up!
This is no cover up , it is a lovely addition to ones counter. It keeps your mixer clean, has a nice pocket on one side to store your mixer book and is made of a nice quilted fabric.
At first I thought it was a bit pricey but it is well made and will last forever!!

Stand Mixers Review Very well made, needs installation illustration.
This is an excellent accessory, but should come with one other inexpensive item in the box: a simple diagram about how to install it.

My wife was so excited when this item arrived, but then almost sent it back because she was convinced that it was not suitable for our mixer, a 325 watt 5 quart version. Firstly, our model was not listed as supported on the jacket box and secondly she didn't notice that the two mounting handles are not QUITE opposite each other, so the bowl only fits on the stand one way round. (For us, that was with the mounting hooks facing outwards, not in as you might expect).

A solid, well made accessory otherwise.

Stand Mixers Review Water Jacket a must have !
The Water Jacket for the Kitchen Aid mixer was something I though was overkill until I bought one. Once you have it you will find more and more uses to make cooking and baking great.

I first used it to help cream butter and sugar for pastry dough and was amazed at how quickly it did the job. My next task was whipping cream for desserts and to fold into pudding. Last and certainly not least was keeping yeast warm and of course the dough. I am convinced that I saved twenty to thirty minutes of rise time when I made my famous kuchen (German cake).

This product is well worth the money if you love to cook and bake like I do.

Kitchen-Aid quality is matched by no other company. I am convinced that with care, my mixer and the accessories will outlast me and be able to be handed down to my children (they will probably fight over it). My oldest son is taking an interest in baking now !!

Thanks to Kithcen Aid for wonderful products

Stand Mixers Review A good choice... depending on what you use it for
In my pastry arts program at the French Culinary Institute (which I would fully recommend to serious bakers), we have used two different stand mixers: this one, and the Hobart N-50. There are definitely perks to each, and I would recommend the KitchenAid for its 5 speeds (as opposed to the Hobart's 3), it doesn't need to be reset as often as the Hobart, and it's almost impossible to strip the gears or kill the motor with rough use. On the Hobart, you have to turn off the motor to change the speed, with the KitchenAid, you don't. However, the top speed on the KitchenAid is considerably slower than the top speed on the Hobart (think bad if you need a meringue for a test or cookies for your kids' bake sales in a hurry). For the serious home baker, I would probably recommend this mixer for ease of use and ability.

Stand Mixers Review Must Have For Your Kitchen
I just wanted to chime in as I read a lot of the posted reviews before I bought this mixer from Amazon. First, my mixer showed up in just a few days. Great service as always from Amazon. As for the mixer - after mixing up one batch of cookies, I was already asking myself how I got by without one of these things. So far I'ved used the mixer for cookies, cakes, and pizza dough and it has worked beautifully. My wife was skeptical about me ordering this, asking me why we needed another "toy" in the kitchen? Her doubts quickly disappeared the first time she used it to mix up peanut butter bars. She loves the mixer too! If you cook/bake at all, a mixer such as this is as essential as having an oven/stove.

Stand Mixers Review Definitely no other way to go
Straight up, I am able to say this is the best mixer you can get. If you are experienced in cooking or not, the three attachments offer options for your mixing. I am looking into buying one of these mixers for my family, my boyfriend's parents, etc. In my culinary arts class these are the only mixers we have, and they do the job for anything you'd need.

A comment to the person that complained about the banging when the dough was mixing on high: This is because you don't leave the dough on high once it is near finished; you should take it out and knead it for a few extra minutes. It's hard on your KitchenAid Mixer!

        Stand Mixers Review Kelly Beard
I have owned and or used every model of Kitchen Aid mixer ever manufactured in my career as a chef and food technologist. This Kitchen Aid is far and away the most powerful. It's usable capacity is the greatest of all the models. The width of the bowl makes adding ingredients much easier than past models. With this model, for the first time in 80 years, Kitchen Aid has finally created a mixer that mixes thoroughly, to the bottom of the bowl, without leaving the annoying 1/2 cup of unmixed ingredients at the bottom of the bowl. It is also is better at whipping because you can increase the speed more quickly without having liquids fly out all over you and the Kitchen. It is designed with minimal cracks and crevices to catch goo and is markedly easier to keep clean than previous models. Its only flaw is the high pitched motor sound, which increases under load. After 20 minutes of mixing butter cream, 10 minutes of creaming cake batter or even 5 minutes of kneading bread dough, I expect my eardrums to start bleeding. Seriously, if you cook a lot or have a small kitchen you may consider using ear plugs. This mixer shares the same motor profile as the Accolade, which is also shrill. Other than the noise, it is a dream machine and I heartily endorse its added capacity and performance.

        Stand Mixers Review Love it!!
I got my kitchenaid 6qt. stand mixer about 3.5 years ago. I use it at home at least once a week. I've used it to make all kinds of things... stiff cookie dough, whipped cream, cakes. I even made my sister's wedding cake with it, which I wouldn't have been able to do without the mixer! It mixes thoroughly, doesn't require much bowl scraping. We use it often with the meat grinder attachment, which saves money. I can store all my attachments right in the bowl, and I leave the machine on my kitchen counter. It's too beautiful to put away! I didn't think I'd use it very often when I got it, but now I don't know how I ever lived without it!
