We used this mixer once. A plastic piece broke off when we pressed on it. We called the service center. They never heard of the model. We called Customer Service, they couldn't help, but promised to forward our request. We sent an e-mail, but it hasn't been answered. We tried the website -- this model isn't on it.

I got this wonderful mixer as a wedding gift in September and I love it! I am an avid baker who had used various mixers, but none compare to this one. I love the feature that moves the bowl while mixing, the side spatula that scrapes the sides, when you remove the beaters they come out clean, leaving more batter in the bowl. I have never used a more efficient product. It is a joy to use.

This mixer is perfect for my needs. I use a mixer a few times a month and didn't want to spend $300 - $800 for a stand alone mixer. I can easily use it in the stand as well as a regular hand mixer. The stand lets my 5 year help. European design is nice as well.

This item arrived and I assembled it by myself without trouble in about a hour. It is a lovely quality piece of furniture, very solid and heavy. The paint is a cream color, and looks great. The maple butcher block top is very nice with no visible knots. There is no warping, everything fits nice and tight. I am very please with this purchase.

We were attracted to the appearance, size, use of hardwood and shape of this piece and expected high quality from Michael Scott.

From three sides, it is a very attractive piece. However, the back side is a cheap piece of plywood that is stained in a different color from the rest and has no grain or antique finish to match the rest of the piece. Because it is supposed to be a kitchen island, this cheap side is always visible.

In our case, the back side plywood did not fill the space leaving an opening. A replacement is being shipped to us. Also the overall fit of the entire unit was not quite square so it does have some minor flaws with fit.

We are very disappointed because it had such great potential to meet our needs.

Seems, I would feel better if the price on this thing was $300. After assembling it, I found the unit to be sturdy but defective. Not perfectly square! The wood finish was supposed to be hand distressed bit it looks more like some guy went nuts with a drill on it. I am not very impressed with the units price to quality ratio.

It does have some good to it, as it seems solid and the shelving allows it to hold the appliances I have been looking at on the counter for months. The draws are also a big plus for me as I was short storage space for silverware. As the other reviewer said the draws are not very smooth when opened or closed.

I am being generations by giving this item 3 stars the quality and the price do not match. It is made in some foreign country with the lowest price supplies and labor. The least they can do is pass the savings along. Stick with Sauder for an island, this brand is over priced and I see why others were disappointed.

the Michael Scott Avalon kitch cart island arrived yesterday and is assembled and in use in my kitchen. It is exactly what I wanted! I had priced it at other websites and Amazon's price was about $300 lower - not to mention the $9.99 shipping fee. I almost didn't purchase it because of the two customer reviews that are available. The back panel is finished and looks great. It all went together without a problem. I would have liked to have better drawer glides but a little soap rubbed on them did the trick.
