Air Conditioners Review Goldstar (LG Corp) 5050 air conditioner defective
I purchased this window air conditioner at a Southern California Walmart in July, 2003 for $125. After lugging it home, I installed it in my bedroom(15X15)- window. It worked well during that summer, but now (June, 2004) it no longer cools sufficiently - it has become more like a window fan. I cycled it off and on every month during the past winter (Southern California style)as advised in the included instruction manual. The manual states a one year free maintenance guarantee, but doesn't tell you about the $50/hour diagnostic charge levied by their affiliated independent service organization. I am very disappointed with this Goldstar unit, and would definitely not purchase another. I previously owned a GE 5000 btu model and it was much more durable.

Air Conditioners Review Not cooling after 1.5 years
Was a good deal when I purchased the small window a/c, and cooled nicely for about 1.5 years. Now, it doesn't cool at all.

Air Conditioners Review Good buy for the money...
While not the most feature-rich air conditioner (there's nothing electronic whatsoever about the thermostat and fan controls), it certainly gets the job done for cheap.

Cools a single room reasonably, and in multiples of 2 or 3, it can take on most entire apartments.

Air Conditioners Review Product SPECS MISSING
It is highly possible that I would buy this item. However, the absence of product specifications and installation requirements voids all possibility of making an intelligent consumer decision. This does not reflect well for dynadirect, the seller. Perhaps, amazon can pick up the slack on this one as summer temperatures are on the rise. Thanks for this opportunity.

Air Conditioners Review Nice if you can actually install it.
The Frigidaire 15,000 BTU conditioner keeps a pretty large room cool, creates a moderate humming sound and has a terriffic energy star rating.

Setting up this beast will make you want to jump out of a window, be prepared to spend hours, many hours. The instructions are poorly written, the illustrations are unhelpful and the construction of the front piece is shoddy at best. Good luck trying to get it to snap into place. Mine didn't even line up with the frame.

            Air Conditioners Review horrible horrible
This is a unbelievably laughable excuse of an air conditioner. As soon as I turned it on, the fan made a very loud scraping noise as if something was jammed in the rotor ... obviously a lemon. I see another reviewer had the same noise problem, which lends me to think Haier is just shipping junk out. Also, agreed that this unit barely cools. My fan worked better, and was quieter. I'm returning it and not even looking for an exchange.

Air Conditioners Review Hardly cooled at all
This unit is junk. When I turned it on there was a loud scraping noise and the fan jammed. I took it back for an exchange. The exchange unit hardly cooled at all. I installed it in a tiny computer room. There is no way this thing is 6,000 BTU's. It felt like 1,000 BTU's. I took it back for a refund. I bought a GE 6,000 BTU unit and this thing is TOO cold, which is great. When it comes to AC I'll stay away from Haier and stay with the better known brands.

Air Conditioners Review good if you are deaf
cools the room... I can't say it if cools well since I have not owned any other window units... but the worst possible thing I can say about this unit is it is LOUD.. i mean LOOOUUUD.. so unless you are hard of hearing or have this in a workshop or lumber mill... then it will not matter.. even the lowest setting is very loud... i am actually going to return it and look for another manufacturer... i had to edit this to add more.. another thing that is not good on this unit is that it does not have a power saver mode or sleep mode... power saver mode is great for when u sleep.. this is what power save mode is: you set the temperature you want... the the compressor and fan both turn on until the room temp meets what you want.. then the compressor turns off, then the fan turns off a minute or two later (very similar to a house ac unit)... saving energy and will not be constantly running... just when it needs to... this sharp model does not have that... the fan runs constantly even when the desired temp is met.. and the fan is what makes so much noise... for the higher price and 8000 btu.. this model lacks what pretty much most other 8000 and up btu models have for OTHER manufacturers that is... never will i buy another sharp product without testing it in person before...

            Air Conditioners Review Just ok
VERY LOUD!!! Decent price, but doesn't cool as much as we hoped for, and it's loud even on the lowest fan setting.
