I'm very happy with this convection oven. It couldn't be simpler to use: place food, set temperature dial, set timer dial, and walk away. The heat is concentrated on the food so it cooks very quickly without heating the whole kitchen as is the case with a conventional oven.

One negative would be the lack of a comprehensive cookbook, but that's minor since you really will be following your old recipes.

This unit and the programmable version 17000 are NOT at all quiet. I foolishly bought them sight-unseen (or sound-unheard) because of Honeywell's advertizing claims of quiet operation. They are LOUD my friends, so much so that I can hear them three rooms away on the lowest setting. Forget about setting them on high, the noise level is intolerable. At least the programmable unit lets you set a timer to turn it down or off automatically before you get home so you don't have to do it manually every day. I feel that I was deceived in order to make a sale. I guess 'quiet' is a matter of opinion. It IS quiet compared to an atomic blast.

This air purifier works fine, but don't be misled by the name QuietCare. Even on the lowest fan speed, it's still pretty loud. We run it during the day, but we have to turn it off at night because it's so loud.

Have to disagree with some of those who feel this unit is excessively noisy. I ended up buying one after having a store clerk plug in a demo model. It is quieter on slow speed but louder on high speed. I would say the noise levels are about the equivalent of a variable speed window unit air conditioner. If you're looking for dead silent operation, this unit won't do it, but if you can sleep through the background noise of an air conditioner, then this purifier shouldn't be any more intrusive. What sold me was the fact that the filters don't need to be replaced-simply vacuum every few months. On cheaper units, the replacement filters cost almost as much as the purifier.

If you want cleaner air while you drive, this is a good solution. Unlike most filter systems, this unit has two pounds of activated charcoal to remove many of the components of air pollution. It noticeably cleans the air. A few times I have forgotten to turn it on and the smell of car exhaust reminded me it was off. It also has particle filtration. This is no cheaply built unit. It is made of durable metal construction. I have had mine for a year and had no problems.

The are only a few downsides. It takes up some space in your car. I place mine on the passenger floor board so the air blows toward me and my wife still has room for her legs. It makes some noise but I believe it is relatively quiet for the amount of air it blows. It has two speeds and the slower speed is fairly quiet. The other potential downside is the price along with the need to replace filters. They recommend replacement every 6 months although I go a little longer on that.

I was very happy to find the product and would not want to be without it. I strongly recommend it to anyone wanting cleaner air in the car.

This unit is solid all the way around. The base is nice and sturdy and seems well built. The unit uses no fans or such mechanisms to circulate neg. ions, and yet there is a nice steady breeze which comes out of the front, if placed 5 feet from my bed I can feel a gentle breeze of neg. ions blowing around my bed while I sleep. It is also perfectly silent. If the door is closed on the room and I come back a few hours later a powerful neg. ion scent is all through the room. Strong and bright UV light. Company shipped product promptly, and answered email when I sent it to them. I formally owned a Hepa filter top market air cleaner, I recommend this unit over any Hepa filter types that are out there. I think this unit is a little over priced, but when I reviewed the market for air cleaners I found this to be a good reasonable solution compared to what else is out there. If you want something better then this you'll have to spend over $700 at least, perhaps much more then that.

I fly frequently for business. During the cold and flu season, there are always five or ten people on every flight who are coughing and sneezing. Thanks to the wretched recirculated air on planes, I used come down with a cold about five days after every flight. Since buying this little device, I have repeatedly flown cross-country at the height of flu outbreaks, and come home without so much as a sniffle. I have bought one for every member of my household. It seems to be very effective in preventing the transmission of viruses through casual contact. If I were a teacher, nurse, or daycare provider, I'd wear it to work every day!

I purchased this unit for my commute to work using public transportation.

I have an allergy that can be aggravated by a simple cold; so I want to protect myself as much as possible when away from home and car where I have several air cleaners and ionizers. Having good air quality in public places is truly priceless.

The minute I turned the unit on, it was like experiencing a shot of cold energetic fresh air! The operative word is "energetic"; I had never experienced this kind of "vitality" from air. The novelty of this makes it as much a "fun" device.

The specs are excellent, and it's a good all around unit to have, especially when going into crowed places and public restrooms.

Forget about getting an Ipod, get this thing instead; it will change your life!

On a more serious note, although no one can promise complete protection against flu viruses, this could be one of the better preventative measures. The manufacture even states potential for protection from certain biological agents.
