I bought 2 of these for my apartment and 2 of these for my parents since my grandmother, mother and boyfriend are all pretty severe asthmatics. Initially the Ionic Breeze's helped reduce the dust and cat dander in the air and I could tell that everyone was breathing better.

Unfortunately, after a few months everyone began having breathing problems and asthma attacks again only they were much more frequent. I was horrified to find out about the ozone emissions and we unplugged the Ionic Breeze's right away. My boyfriend noticed his breathing getting better within hours after we stopped using this device.

I would definitely not suggest this for anyone with severe asthma.

This air purifier emits "ozone". Ozone is an inherently unstable molecule. Its chemical formula is O3, making it quickly degenerate to O2 and an extra "O"....that extra "O" that is formed is a free radical my friends. Free radicals are not something to kid around with...they are what "antioxidants" are meant to clean up. Yes, there is an ozone layer which protects us from UV rays, but guess what, NOONE IS BREATHING IT! The main place you will find breathable ozone is where? Oh Yeah, in AIR POLLUTION!!!! So why why why would you willingly pay this much money to put free radicals and ozone into your air??

One reviewer said that ozone is ok because it can be used to "clean many surfaces". I'm not sure about you, but I do NOT want things that can clean surfaces (bleach, borax, etc.) in my LUNGS. Just because it cleans surfaces does not mean you want to breath it all day...in fact just the opposite.

I've found that it does everything claimed: captures lots of dust & stuff (which you see every time you clean it), is QUIET, and runs on very little electricity. I've owned HEPAs before, they were so noisy I never ran them at their high settings - so they never did much.

With this on my allergic wife doesn't react to letting the cat in the house.

Very happy with this. I'd prefer to give it four-and-a-half stars - the newer model is better!

I consider myself somewhat of a gadget freak and air freak, so I'm well versed in these products.. I own "Hunter", "Holmes", and "Air-Tech" units..Ranging from "hepa" to "ionic". From $30.00 to $200 ++. This unit has it all..Its compact, quiet, efficient, effective, and attractive..Plus it has additonal features of being automatic (it adjusts speed to degree of contaminants) and bacteriostatic (kills mold and mildew spores).
Its got the price and features..and has proved reliable for the past 4 months I've owned it...
Its been the best choice I've made in these products..

First I should admit this is the first item I've ever bought from Amazon. Since you can purchase filtered showerheads anywhere online, I figured I was safe with Amazon. Anyway, from day one of moving in to this house, I never had a good hair day. I already have thin baby fine hair to begin with and I use a lot of thickening products (Pantene shampoo, heat activated mouuse, etc) and they weren't taking affect like they normally used to. My hair almost was dry and acted like straw, it wouldn't hold a curl very well and seemed kinda frizzy. I even bought the more expensive salon shampoos and conditioners, but that didn't help. Although the revitalizing cream shampoo did for one day! I knew it had to be the water here that was affecting my hair in this way. Its not like the water was hard, there was no orange discoloration in the bathtub nor was the water soft either. All I knew is there was a lot of white scum on the shower doors and in the bathtub. When I did some research and found a filter showerhead, especially a hand-held one, I figured it was worth a try! From the second I sent my money off for this particular one, I picked it because of the one review on it and that it came with extra filters, I was pleased to get quite a few emails confirming my order! And even one with the FedEx number of my shipment. I was able to track the package as it traveled from city to city! It arrived on time of when I was to expect it. I was actually surprised that it comes with a total of THREE filters...one in the unit already and the box of 2 extra. The only problem for me is to be reminded to change them as needed!! HA! I had no problems hooking it all up, except the one mistake I made was to not screw in the one part of it (it wasn't adjusting to a better height til after I screwed it in better). One thing I noticed when I ran the water was how crisp and clean it appeared out of the showerhead. And today I had a pretty good hair day! I'm hoping as the week goes on it will only get better!!!!

I bought this item due to our well water turning my blond hair green hoping it would solve the problem. When I recieved the package and easily installed it myself, I did think it was a little heavy. Now I know that it is well worth its weight since the green is gone and so are the bathtub stains and the water odor. This product has so far exceeded my expectations by a mile.
