I tried this item, it is practically useless. It can barely clean the air in a closet much less a 200 square foot area. Yes safe levels of ozone, that means it is so underpowered it is useless. It made no difference im my home. There is also evidence these items burst into flames and burn up!

Stay away from this clunker!

I'm a facilities manager and I installed this product in a musty water room and it worked great on removing the smell. The unit ran 24/7 for about 2 years before it stopped working. I've used other ozone generators before and unless you spend more than $300, my experience would indicate, to only expect 2 to 3 years of service.

This is one fair and fairly priced air cleaners. One thing I can tell you is that this air cleaner works great if you are trying to keep a room clear of dust when dry wall sanding is happening in the other rooms. Look, for the price it works well.

A good air cleaner but noisy even on low. Also they have an oscillating feature that mokes a click on the one side. Both that I have make the same click.
Filter cleaning is easy but the stage one filter gets dirty very quickly. I vacuum it regularly and rinse and clean the stage one about every 10 days. Both the ion feature and the replaceable filters make this an easy choice for the money, but, do not discount the noise factor and the click in oscillation.
I also would not use in a construction area to keep down the dust. The outside of the tower acts like a magnet in heavt dust.

I'm giving the Bionaire four stars because it does what it's advertised to do. If you suffer from severe alergies or asthma, this probably will not help you.

The Bionaire BAP1500 has given me a large degree of relief during allergy seasons. My allergies aren't acute but I usually go through several uncomfortable weeks each fall and spring. If I run the Bionaire at night in my bedroom (10x15), I sleep just fine. On the other hand, you would need at least two of these for a large living room or dining room.

Other features:

Three separate speeds, plus ionic air filtering as well.

Easy to clean.

Gets noisy if using the high air flow setting.

I bought this for my son's bedroom about 10 months ago to ease his allergies. He's been sleeping better ever since we turned the machine "ON". No more weezing and sneezing in the middle of the night. The air in his room is so fresh, it's like being in a museum! We hardly remember that the unit is turned on, except when it goes into "odor busting" mode when the fan runs at high speed. This doesn't happend too often, but it is noisy when it does happen. All in all, I'm very pleased. I only wish it came with the vacuumable pre-filter as the bigger models do.

one note of caution. filters, though they last perhaps a year, are not inexpensive.
