Man, I'm sure glad that these guys didn't design any aircraft I've been flying on! How can you possibly screw up getting the temperature? I agree with the other review that, without the manual, fat chance you could figure out how to switch from C to F with this thing. I've done it a half dozen times and still dont' remember how I did it each time. Setting the hi and low alarms? Who cares!

I must admit, this thing is still working for us after 3 years and the display is pretty easy to read (as long as the batteries are fresh, and they won't be for long). My next digital thermometer will probably not be a Royal.

Temperature does not match other thermometers I own, and always shows 1.5 C degrees higher than others.

Not possible to set up the gizmo after battery change without the manual - DO NOT LOOSE IT!!!!

Frequency used by this is the most popular in the world of wireless home products which means it will interfere with wireless chimes, alarms etc.

Short range - does not reach the remote if placed on the other side of the house (approx 12 meters).

Humidity level does not show at low temperatures: 4C and below.

At temperatures 4C and below weather forcast shows snow only, all thoughout the winter, even if the sky's been sunny for weeks on end.

The thermometer was affordable and displays lots of information. You can also program min and max temps for both indoor and outdoor sensors, and change the temp reading between C and F. However, keep your manual handy...the programming is not intuitive. Setting the clock each time you change the batteries (which is about every 6 months) can be a task without it. Also, if you fumble with the buttons because you do not know how to program the thermometer, you might inadvertently set the min/max alarms, and then you would have a tough time disabling this feature. I have my manual handy, so it's not so bad, but each time I change the batteries, I've got to look at it again--even after having this product for about two years.

I would not give this item one star, however it is required to write a review.The only way my Scunci will produce steam is if I shake it. You have to shake it up and down as you try to scrub. I am glad that I did not pay 3 easy payments of $19.99, instead I bought mine at Walgreens on clearance. I guess the ol saying is true "Good products are not cheap, and cheap products are not good". If you want quality, you have to pay for it. Back to Walgreens I go.

This doesn't live up to even one star!!

I had seen this for years, but was wary (always listen to your gut instinct!). When it showed up at my local Target store, I thought "what the heck" and bought it, simply because it would be way easier to return there! And return it, I did!

I thought I would try this on my shower first and foremost. I had been frustrated with the soap scum build-up in my tile shower, which commonly required a lot of elbow grease and lung-busting chemicals to remedy. I fired up the steamer, and after a good 30 minutes in the same spot, was packing it back up to return to the store. The only thing this steamer did was leave a black (although faint) plastic-y residue on the few tiles I tried it on. It didn't steam away anything from the shower (just something off it's own attachment). I happily returned it to Target, stopped in the cleaning aisle, picked up a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and some CLR, and a short time later (although gasping for air) my shower was as clean as it had been in awhile.

Do yourself a favor-if you're planning on using this to aid in cleaning, go to Target, buy some Magic Erasers and some CLR and roll up your sleeves. Soap scum requires elbow grease..that's just all there is to it!

Cons: The mop attachment mine came with is not convienent. You have to put 4 pieces together and they bend in funny directions plus having to hold the steamer with the other hand and work around the cord, all making it difficult to mop with. It doens't seem safe using the mop because the pieces just twist together loosly, not tightly, so you're afraid they will come untwisted and burn you. Used it for my oven and it did virtually nothing.
Pros: Cleans the gunk around sink well, makes lots of steam. I steamed a milk spill in my car after cleaning in the traditional way and finally the smell was gone. This took the smell away completely! Nothing else had worked for me. You can blast the steam on the bathroom mirror and then wipe dry with a paper towel (if you haven't been using wax-based cleaners on your mirror.) You do have to follow up with a cloth after the dirt has been loosened by the steam cleaner. I'v never tried a more expensive one so I don't have anything to compare it to but I wish overall, that it was better made and more convienent. However, it is nice to have when you need it.
