I bought four of these humidifiers - the FROG, PUPPY, CAT and SOCCER BALL. We set them up right away. The CAT and SOCCER BALL worked just fine. The FROG and PUPPY did not.

My husband is a mechanical engineer, so he opened up the PUPPY one first. The power supply had fallen off it's bracket (he found a loose screw inside) and had severed one of the wires attached to the fan assembly. He reattached the power supply and resoldered the wire. Now PUPPY works fine.

Then he took a look at FROG. The fan was unplugged! So he plugged it into the power supply, and now FROG works fine.

These units are very cute and safe for the kids. I like how easy they are to refill and are reasonably quiet. We have PUPPY in our room, and I do hear it "glub glub" during the night.

If you get one, try it right away. If it doesn't generate mist on the highest dial setting within 15-30 seconds, RETURN it immediately for a replacement (unless you have good help around the house like me!)

this was my first humidifier ever, so i'm not sure how it compares to others, but after reading many reviews on other humidifiers, it seems like many humidifiers can be hit or miss.

this one does the job. it's super quiet when it's running. the only sounds it makes is the drippity drop of the water. my only complaint is the "glug glug glug" sound of the water it makes maybe every 5 minutes, but it's really not that loud and is very tolerable.

it's great that it doesn't have any filters to change and that there's a control dial to let you adjust the mist. it's advertised as having low power consumption, so that's a definite plus too. i bought the bear shaped one and it's great that it's cute, so it's not just some random plastic box in your room that blows off mist.

i recommended my friend to get one too and she loves it as well.

This humidifier is indeed very adorable and whisper quiet. It doesn't have any filter to change so very low maintainance. We love it.

Everyday I used two Holmes humidifiers, smaller ones than this model. I've used them for two or three winters, storing them in the summer, and I've had great results. That's why I usually buy a Holmes product, when the choice is to be made.

This time, though...hmmm. Bad luck. At first, the unit seemed to run perfectly. Though, I did think that I heard a 'crack' when I was filling the tank, the first time. Anyway, after a week or so, all of a sudden I noticed that the humidifier had gone to 'reset' and the tank had cracked all over like broken glass -- a bit of water had leaked out, too.

I ordered a replacement tank. That cracked after the first use.

I'd been convinced that the problem was the tank -- not the main 'engine.' But, perhaps I got a bad unit and any tank would crack on it. There was nothing to indicate that, though -- it seemed to be running fine, until it cracked.

Before buying this I looked around at many different models. None of them impressed me a great deal. This isn't a product category where companies come up with primo devices. This model is working fine. It is reasonably designed, but nothing extraordinary. I'm happy with it. I have given it four stars, but I don't think there is a five star humidifier out there.

I've done a lot of research for humidifiers, and I bought many (and returned them). I've had this humidifier for 6 months now and I use it in my daughter's room. The tank lasts two nights on the low setting, and one night on the high setting. I clean the base and heating element about once a week with warm water. There is a lot of build-up, so be sure to clean it.

I'm getting a second one of these for myself. I think for the price, you will be happy with this product.

The Vornado HU1-0012-11 humidifier is very easy to set up, to operate, and to refill. It is quiet and does a very good job of humidifying my bedroom. It is a no-frills unit that does a simple job and does it well. What I like best about it is that it is very easy to refill the tank and replace the filled tank in the unit.

Bought a Vornado after doing some research. When I kept seeing that Hunter brand humidifiers needed parts, broke down, leaked, etc., I noticed a few mentioned either going back to, or buying a Vornado brand. So I did.

I keep this one in our hallway so that it keeps the bedrooms comfortable. Wasn't too worried about the entire house. Waking up and feeling like I had just walked through a desert was.

I fill this up about every other day. I keep on low to medium speed depending on how dry the air is. It's a breeze to fill the resovoir.

As far as problems, nothing major. I guess the only thing is that the body can hum if the top and bottom are not sitting on each other right. Other than that, no big deal. Adjust it and it's fine.

We love this thing. Both of us have never slept better since we got it. We fill the tank about every 3rd night, super easy, and keep it on medium the whole night and only while we're sleeping. It has a mild fan-like sound (probably because it IS a fan) and I have always liked some steady sound to sleep by.
Bottom line, after researching humidifiers, different types and their pros and cons, we decided on this one and would recommend it to anyone looking for one.
