Been using this humidifier for about 2 weeks now, and while it is stylish, and very very quiet, and keeps my one bedroom condo at a comfortable humidity level.

The amount of white dust it produces is rather irksome, even with the filters it produces alot of white dust, fortunatley most of it seems to collect on my TV so I just wipe that down a couple times a day.. You could use distilled water to eliminate it, but I go through about 4 gallons of water a day, so thats alot of distilled water.

I also do not like how there is no humidity gauge, so you can't set it to shut off when it gets to a certain level of humidity.

I was sold on this item because it was quiet. After the first cleaning the thing sounds like a train...very difficult to clean, very messy, lots of parts in difficult to reach areas. After one week I threw it out and bought a different type from a different manufacuturer...I am writing this to spare you all the nightmare it is to own one of these things.

This humidifier has the worst design ever. You have to fill the tank from the BOTTOM. In order to do so, you have to take the tank, fill it in the tub, and flip the full tank(which is harder than you can imagine) and carry it back to the humidifier. Why not put a opening on top so that we can fill it easily? Therefore, definitely not recommended for the weak and the elderly.

Second... Even if the tank is full of water, the 'no water' lights turns on and it stops working. I restart and it again stops a few minutes later. (It used to be fine when I first bought it)

The only good thing is, yes, it is silent.

This humidifier is quiet in the low moist setting, a little noisier in the high moist setting. The problem that I found is that it leaks. You have to be very careful when closing the water tank after filling it because otherwise it will leak. I think the desing and quality are very poor.

I refilled the water tank and let it running in my son's bedroom overnight, the next morning I discovered that the tank was empty: it had been leaking all night. It ruined my hardwood floors.

I thought that I already sumbitted a comment on my expereince with this item. I received it in poor condition. The base was not connected to one of the main pieced of the humidifier, nor would it properly fasten. I sent it back & Amazon refunded my money in a timely manner.

I bought this humidifier because I was having trouble with my asthma this winter in the hot dry air of my home. I was desperate to try and add a little moisture to the air. I chose a "cool-air" product because the assumption was that I did not want to add any more "hot-air" than I already had, however, i have only used this product 2 or 3 times. It is way too noisy. The fan component of the humidifier makes it very difficult to sleep with it on, and my husband absolutely refuses to have it on when he is in the room. So whether or not the product can relieve the dryness in my bedroom is moot, since I can't use it!

This little bugger does the job very well but two things I must add, if you are in heated room; it will make the temperature go down fast since it is a cool mist humidifier...... 2nd on full speed it is too noisy to keep in bedroom.

It does look nice and I am using it without any powers because of above listed issues hence it is keeping my 14x13 room at 50% humidity, how? I just filled it up with tap water and I can see water level dropping day by day without turning it on, also I have a digital humidity monitor in my room and I can watch the humidity level with or without HM1230 in the room.
