about 2 months after we purchased this humidifier, it started to smell awful. We soaked the "care free" filter in lysol to try to kill whatever it was that was growing in it; didnt work. still stinks. If "care free" means cleaning it with a toothbrush and it still stinks, then care free it is. I would probably burn this if I couldn't take it back so that no one else would try to use it. don't buy it. god only knows what kind of cooties it's aerosolizing into our bedroom. It's a health hazard waiting to happen. I would give it negative 5 stars.

I purchased one for my daugters college dorm rooom and she loves it. It is easy to operate, clean and is relatively small. I would recommend to anyone who wants a simple easy to use humidifier.

I bought two of these last fall. Both worked great all winter. A little loud if you put fan on high speed but low speed is fine. Humidistat allows you to set humidity level and permits unit to cycle on and off. Cleanup of water tray is easy. Filter cleaning requires something like lime-a-way to flush out deposits (1 to 2 times a year will suffice depending on your water quality). Would buy this unit again.

I like this item. I am on the road all week and to save money it works well to heat things up rather than buying on the road. I've cooked everything from hotdogs and hamburgers to grilled cheese and soup. The one major thing it's missing is a temp regulator or thermostat. It gets too hot at times, in fact hot enough to boil liquids and burn bread.

This unit does a nice job of throwing a little moisture into the air of a fairly large space (400 sq. ft. or so). The problem I've had is that the filter seems to stop wicking moisture after a fairly short period of time though (a month or so). I've had this in 2 different houses with 2 different water supplies (both town water, not well water) and the problem is evident in both so I doubt it's the quality of the water. With the filter at around $10, and using 4 or 5, it can be an expensive season here in the Northeast (figure around 5 months). Other than that though, it's a nice piece.

This is a great humidifier. It works really well. Maintenance is really easy, more easy than I had even previously thought. Cleaning once a week is sufficient. It is very quiet also. I suggest it highly.
