Irons Review Tote Bag
Can't camp without it! Perfect for carrying my dutch ovens easily to the campsite. Sturdy construction and protects my cast iron from rust.

Irons Review Carry your Dutch Oven in style
This tote bag is made to carry and protect your beloved dutch oven. Why a tote bag you may ask? It not only protects your valuable $50 or antique dutch oven, but it keeps your otehr items clean if your oven has soot on the outside. These come in different sizes just like the ovens themselves. This particular one will fit a dutch oven up to 8 quarts or 12" in diameter which is the standard size used by scouts and other groups. It has a padded bottom to protect the legs, a heavy duty zipper closure, and carrying straps.

Irons Review Beware of its limitations
This is a superior range, IF it meets your needs. Consider however:

1. The cast iron top stains very easily.
2. The rough cast iron eats sponges and towels and is very difficult to clean.
3. The cast iron retains heat...expect over 45 mintues for the heat to reduce from high to low....you cannot expect to change temps during cooking under most conditions.

It does however, heat rapidly and retain precise heat (at one temp) well over time.

Irons Review Great and Horrible
First the good. It cooks great, size is perfect. Handles oven to burners better than any other roast pan out there. Now the bad...this thing is HEAVY. 20 lbs before you put anything on it!!! A healthy Turkey can send it upwards of 40 lbs! I can handle it, but not my wife. Even when I do, I need some heavy-duty gloves, oven mitts will not due. How the heck you're supposed to take this thing camping I don't know. This isn't for everybody.

Irons Review suitable for vegans and/or vegetarians: ignore the fish word
Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Fish Pan

You slow-bake a deep-dish 'cake' of corn meal (preferably ground
at home: you could use a coffee bean mill in a pinch) using this
so-called fish pan. Advantage is mostly being able to have tasty
seconds and not-so-stale leftover slices of homemade cornbread.
Now you don't have to hurriedly hide your hard-earned home-made
cornbread from snoopy visiting neighbors and 'friends' who know
that you make the real thing from scratch (no wheat flour ThanQ)
on a weekly basis. Share all the portions that they care to eat:
you'll still have enough remaining corn bread for midnight trips
to the breadbox. Fair warning: should you be a fish flesh-eater,
keep in mind that other foods (such as corn bread) prepared with
the same pan are possibly going to be laced with a fish aroma...

The cost is steep, but when you consider that the material does
not wear out (it gets better with age, which is admirable), the
original cash outlay can be mentally spread over half a century
(even as a hand-me-down, assuming WWIII hasn't started). Amazon
eats the shipping fee when you insist on 'Super Saver Shipping'.

Since the blessed thing is too heavy for either spouse to whack
the significant other with it, your buying the fish pan won't
directly contribute to Domestic Violence (except perhaps to fish)

21 pounds new in the box means that you'd be daft to entertain
the idea of bringing this vessel with you on a fishing trip to
cook some freshly-caught fish over the coals on the beach. Fat
chance that you'd even catch something edible that big anyway.
Just bring along a pre-seasoned Lodge square grill pan (10x10);
punch B0000CF66W in the general Search box to pull it up. That
pan is one third the weight: seven versus 21 pounds. Study the
features to determine whether it'll do. The grill pan prevents
you from being able to season the fish with subtle herbs and let
its own juices retain flavor BUT when you're out there fishing,
in all likelihood you'll develop a ravenous appetite that needs
no gourmet frills (such as marinating or lemon/dill sauce). Do
seriously consider the Fish Pan as being affordable and useful
on a weekly frequency; the first year it'll cost you $1 a week.
Every year thereafter, you'll have a greasy heirloom to possess
and pass down. On the weekday before payday, you use the pan to
prepare some original nutritious concoction, such as coarse-cut
(old-fashioned) oatmeal and whole corn meal and sun-dried raisin
bread (only one raisin per bite, to cut costs). Come payday, you
can switch to double-deep brownies, using 1/3 to 1/2 as much tu-
pelo blossom honey or grade B maple syrup (instead of the white
sugar, unless you can find JAGGERY sugar without bone particles)

Irons Review Accept no substitutes
A dutch oven is one of the most versatile items you can find. Many people I know are intimidated by cooking with dutch ovens, but when you take a few minutes to learn how, you can use it to cook anything! It can be used with variety of foods: stews, cakes, cobblers, breads, poultry, vegetables (basically anything you make in a conventional oven). If you happen to forget to pack your skillet when you go camping, turn over the lid and put it back on the dutch oven. Voila! Instant skillet-type cooking surface! Additionally, this smaller dutch oven stacks well with the 12-inch version, so you can cook more than one course at a time!

Having used a variety of dutch ovens in my life, I can tell you for sure, Lodge dutch ovens are the best. They are durable and well-crafted. If you have ever had the experience of cooking with a dutch oven that was not a Lodge, you will know what I mean.

You should look for a dutch oven that has a lip on the lid for keeping coals on, and sturdy legs, to keep from crushing the coals. Lodge dutch ovens have these features, and are made of quality cast iron. Lodge also has many accessories for cooking, such as lid lifters and lid rests, inserts for muffins, etc.

Dutch ovens make a great gift for the camper in your life. Highly reccommended!

Irons Review Lodge 8" Camp Dutch Oven
The 8" Lodge Camp Dutch Oven is currently the smallest that Lodge offers. The 2 Quart oven is the perfect size to cook dinner for one or two people. Ever popular with canoe and river rafters this oven works well in a camp fire or with charcoal brickettes.

Quality made in the USA the iron casting is smooth and uniform, the lid fits without rocking or binding -- providing a good seal. Properly cared for this oven will last a lifetime.

In my opinion you can't go wrong buying Lodge, high quality at a modest price.

Irons Review realize what you are getting here
It's important to realize what you are getting here. If you are looking for something that will approximate a press from a good dry cleaner, fuhgeddaboutit. If you are looking for a "good enough" touch-up press, stretching out your wearing intervals between professional cleanings, you may be happy, but in the end the word I would use to describe performance is Mediocre.

The comments that:
1. it creases one leg more than the other
2. it requires careful placement of the pant legs to avoid extraneous creases
3. It only works on creases below the pockets (i.e. the knees)
4. you are better off with a good iron (if you are skilled)
are all true.

Having said that, if you
1. place the pants in it carefully and correctly,
2. use it EVERY time you wear them (twice gets them too wrinkled) and
3. are willing to iron the top area of the pants (get a high end Rowenta iron for this if you are smart),
then the Corby can be moderately effective in helping you stretch cleaning intervals.

I have one of these at home, and I have also used these at hotels. I still use mine, but I understand its significant limitations. Anyone who tells you this is a complete solution by itself is either not very picky at all, has an exceptional unit, or works for Corby. You will have to decide if it's "good enough" for you.
Good luck with your decision.

Irons Review long time satisfied user of this item
I have had one of these pants pressing things for 20 years now. I am very satisfied with the performance for pressing dress pants (wool). I use is every day when I return from work. Yes you want to be moderately careful about placement of pants into the machine but I have not had a problem with it. It has saved me plenty in dry cleaning bills and the pants last longer since they are not going through the dry cleaning process nearly as often.

Irons Review GREAT
if you lay it sideways, you can grill sandwiches and make pancakes like the pros do.

Irons Review Great self basting lid, easy seasoning
The lid is tough and fits the Lodge Logic 10-1/4-Inch Pre-Seasoned Skillet. It is unseasoned and may have a few tiny pit parks on the underside. Spray with canola oil and put in the oven at 450F for an hour. Underside turns black and becomes non stick and smooth.

Irons Review WARNING!!! Don't buy T-fal
I bought T-fal's top of the line Avantis iron even though I only have light ironing to do. It broke in less than a year - losing heat completely. T-fal would not stand behind it. I wrote to them several times. They insisted on the original sales receipt despite the fact I had the charge on my American Express bill. They had no technical advise either. Read other Amazon reviews on their products breakdowns! I've paid half as much for irons that lasted for years. Avoid this turkey and this company. I'll never buy another T-fal product and neither should you!

Irons Review Aquaspeed 155
Great amount of steam, smooth gliding, works perfectly!
The iron does not have a shut off button, but shuts off automatically. Takes some getting use to the large sitting base.

Irons Review A Great Iron!
I have used so many different brands throughout the years, even thinking that a higher priced iron meant a better iron. I finally found the T-Fal and bought the basic one. I loved it but kept forgetting to turn it off when I was finished. I bought this one with an auto-shutoff and couldn't be more pleased. I found the added features were great. Easy to fill the large well for steam and don't have to fill it as often.
This will surely be on my shopping list for this holiday season to give as gifts.

Irons Review very clever design
I think that the pictures and descriptions of the two stacks and stacks "mini" ironing boards are switched. The one I purchased is very cleverly designed so that you get an ironing surface that is much larger than the other "little" board available, while still easily fitting in a very small space. It even has a chrome rack that pulls out for your iron.
