Irons Review Great Dutch Oven!
Well, some of the other reviewers panned this pot (LOL) for being made in China. I'm glad that they all have enough money to buy the French ovens but I do not and honestly, for the money (more than half the price) this is an awesome Dutch oven. It is HUGE so I can do everything I need a Dutch oven for in one pot. It is made well and it is beautiful - I hate to put it away! The only thing bad I can say about it is that it is a little heavy for my wife to lift. SHe has me get it out whenever she needs it. We'll probably add the 5 quart later on just so she can use it more easily.

Irons Review Gives Le Creuset a run for it's money
I've always wanted a Le Creuset Dutch oven for a long time, but they are just too expensive. I like my Lodge cast iron pan a lot so I decided give their enamel Dutch oven a shot. I was impressed the moment I opened the box. It looks and feels like a Le Creuset. I have used it for 2 slow-cooking dishes and it performed flawlessly. Nothing stuck to the inside or outside of the oven. When wearing oven mitts, I also like the handle more than that of Le Creuset.

Irons Review Amazing piece of cookware.
This dutch oven is simply great. It's hefty, beautiful, and cooks like a dream. The handle is really neat, too. The quality of the pan is top-notch. It cooks well and cleans up with ease. (...)

The pan does appear to be made in China to Lodge's specifications. It's clearly a Lodge pan with their name engraved on the handles. It doesn't bother me in the least, but if that's something that bothers you than best of luck.

For me, I have found a pan that's going to be in my kitchen for the rest of my life.

      Irons Review Outstanding!
We had a nonstick griddle in our kitchen, but the nonstick surface didn't stand up to repeated use. This cast iron griddle arrived ready to use, and really is easy to take care of.

I had never used cast iron before, so I was somewhat intimidated by the idea, but it really is easy. Instead of washing it like you would your nonstick pan, you brush it off enough to get the left over food off, and immediately coat it with a layer of olive oil.

Our last griddle also did not heat very evenly, there were frequently hot spots at the burners. With this one, when I'm gettign ready to use it the first thing I do is put a little more oil on it, then turn both burners on to about medium heat. By the time I'm ready to cook, it really is pretty evenly heated.

On top of all the cooking benefits - it can help you get in shape! (weight lifting - grin) It is fairly heavy, feels like it should last for years!

All in all, I'm very happy we have this!

Irons Review smallish surface space-uneven heat
The logic griddle did two things I wanted--put grill marks on my food and didn't stick. However, the surface was not as large as I had hoped for in a griddle that spans two burners. Two good sized pancakes don't really fit across it, and if you use the entire surface, the items in the middle between the burners don't get as much heat and cook unevenly.
I have taken this griddle to Vermont and used it on a gas range, as well as on my smooth-top electric range at home. It works about the same on both.
I was able to make professional looking panini sandwiches with nice grill marks and no sticking.
My pancakes cooked unevenly and had to be watched very vigilantly.
I gave the griddle 3 stars because it is preseasoned and food did not stick and it basically does what is says it does, although my expectations led me to hope for more.

Irons Review Great for a beginner like me
The griddle is preseasoned but you still have to season it or things will stick. Cleaning is easy, just remember to lightly oil it after. This process helps with the seasoning. Thing is heavy, but you know it will last. Oh yeah, clean your stove top before using or what food grim you had on the stove top will burn. I highly suggest this griddle to anyone that watches Rachel Ray.

Irons Review Worth its weight in ...
Lodge is the leader in cast-iron cookware. Made in USA for more than 100 years, it's heavy, reliable, great stuff. Cast iron takes a little effort. You have a relationship with it, unlike teflon type pans. You learn to work with it and it will reward you with incredible performance.

I've had the non-preseasoned version of this griddle for about ten years. At first I was disappointed in the performance but over time it got better and better. Nothing sticks to it now. Cleanup is easy with just a quick wipe needed. The cast iron is so good at spreading the heat out that it has very even temperature.

Pre-seasoned is a bit of a misnomer. The "seasoning" process is never complete- Lodge Logic has simply jump started the process. It does get better and better. At first maybe only use it with an oil or with fatty foods. As time goes by the need for added oil goes down. I can make pancakes or french toast with no oil or butter. I generally give it a light spray of cooking spray though.

My only complaints are that with the grease gutter the total cooking area is somewhat small, plus pancakes will flow into the gutter if you aren't careful. I never use the grill side but from experience with my Lodge grill pan I'm sure it would do a great job.

I'm sure that this griddle will just keep getting better and better as the years go by. I can't say that for coated nonstick cookware- that seems to have a life of about five years in my family.

Note that your burner spacing is important. This size has a cooking area (not including the grease gutter or handles) of 16-3/4" x 7-3/4". The overall size is about 21" x 9". It fits the stove in my camper and my Weber Gas Go-Anywhere Grill perfectly. It does not fit my stove at home or my Coleman propane stove because those burners are spaced 11" apart. For those stoves I am considering getting the larger Lodge griddle where the handles are inset. All the Lodge products are listed on the "lodgemfg" homepage. Since cast iron is heavy, shipping can be expensive so be sure you get free SuperSaver shipping.

Irons Review don't waste your money
We had a Rowenta Surfline Inox iron for about 15 years which we loved. My husband irons his own shirts so we both agree on this. After 15 years, it started to show it's age so I purchased the Power Duo. We loved the Surfline for it's incredible steam. The Power Duo is terrible when it comes to steam ability. It only seems to steam if the water tank is completely full. Please don't waste your money on this model.

Irons Review Disapointment from Heavy User
I was very disapointed when I started ironing and every item I ironed left starch flakes all over. I could tell the plate never would get very hot (I had it on the hottest setting). Cleaning each piece after ironing was not worth it, this is supposed to be one of their upper line irons though my old $20 B&D beat this model. Don't think I'll buy another Rowenta.

Irons Review Lacks the 'fun' of most Rowentas
After deciding against the Intra-Steam found on the Rowenta Perfect (I kept getting steam burns on my hands), I decided on the PowerDuo. This iron has a different sole plate than other Rowentas, and it doesn't glide as well. There is also an overall change in the shape of the iron, leaving it feeling chunky and awkward in the hand. Other Rowentas that I have had were almost fun to use, and I ironed many items just because it was no longer such a chore . . . but the PowerDuo leaves me with the same dread of ironing that I had with my old GE, which I was grateful to replace with the PowerGlide 9 years ago. Given what I paid for that PowerGlide, and the length of time that it worked perfectly, making ironing no longer dreadful, the Rowenta doesn't seem so expensive. The Perfect was only 6 oz. heavier than the PowerDuo (my old PowerGlide was lighter than the PowerDuo), but I find myself pressing down on the iron in an attempt to get the wrinkles out. This is the first Rowenta that I have experienced a real problem with spots of water developing on my clothing . . . and I carefully read the manual, making certain that I followed the instructions meant to prevent just such problems. The PowerDuo also puts out less steam than either the Perfect, or my 9-year-old Powerglide (which was broken when falling from the board . . . otherwise, I would never have replaced it). I'm not at all impressed with the much-touted vertical steam . . . I couldn't get it to work well on the PowerDuo. I still have my love for Rowenta irons, but this one just doesn't compare favorably to any other Rowenta . . . it will be returned, and I will continue to seek a Rowenta that I like.

      Irons Review Cheaply made
I used this item twice. It holds a thin cookbook. But, it doesn't hold it at the correct angle. If you want to read the recipe, you have to prop it up on something. That's what I was doing before and what I'm doing again. It was too much of a hassle using the stand. It's a nice decoration, but not practical.

Irons Review Shipping almost the same as the price?
I really did not buy this item becausse they want $6.49 to ship this item that cost $6.49. Customer should really look more carefully about the shipping cost before they buy anything.

Irons Review One Size Wont Fit All
A fabulous wok by appearances but for us it has yet to be seasoned inasmuch as we are researching alternative wok rings for our 30" gas cooktop. A word of caution that may be obvious to some -- wok rings are not universally sized to fit. Recognizing that the one that came with the wok might not work, we were prepared to search for one that would but were not prepared for how difficult that would be. Meanwhile, the local Chinese restaurant and my cast iron skillet are getting too much use. The search goes on.

        Irons Review Cast Iron Wok
Being an amateur of cast iron cook ware, I was delighted to find the cast iron wok offered by the Wok Shop to replace the wok stolen by the movers.
The Wok Shop provided fast and exempelary service in shipping the wok. Closely following their instructions on how to cure the wok I was delighted with its utility. It proved to be lighter than my old cold steel wok and has a better distribution of heat. My western cast iron now sits oiled and stored stored under the stove waiting for that rare occasion when the wok will not do.
And the price could not be beat.
