Irons Review Fun, but not terribly practical
First I'd like to say that Lodge Logic is the greatest. No seasoning, could it get any better? This is a great little pan that does a wonderful job at making perfect little cornbread sticks. I've done them in the oven, as well as over coals and they've turned out fine every time (first time they stuck and broke when I took them out, but the pan still cleaned fine). The only reason I gave this a 4 and not a 5 is because it's not terribly practical. It'll only cook one small batch at a time (1 1/2 cups of cornmeal mix). However, if you want something really fun and different, this is it.

Irons Review Awesome deep dish pizza pan!
I purchased this piece as part of a set from Williams Sonoma. It was a great price, but when I unpacked this enormous baker I wondered what I was ever going to use it for. We are a family of two, and if I used it for something like lasagna we would be eating leftovers for a month. I found, however, that it makes the best deep dish pizza EVER! We haven't ordered delivery in at least two years, and I use the pan once a week. It's now one of my favorite le creuset items. A word of caution, though. I'm not very big, and the baker weighs at least ten pounds. I dropped it once when it was still wet and slipped out of my hands, and it cracked my kitchen floor tiles! Proceed with caution, but get ready for the best pizza you've ever had in your life!

Irons Review A great rectangular baker!
I got my first Le Creuset cookware in 1978. It was my college graduation week, & I was relaxing on the lawn reading the Sunday Boston Globe. I saw an ad for a Le Creuset starter set (French oven + 2 covered saucepans + skillet) for a very low price, so I decided to go for it since I was about to be out of the dorm living on my own. That purchase turned out to be one of my best investments ever, as I still use all the pieces today. I now have 3 French ovens, 5 covered saucepans, 3 skillets, 1 oval au gratin, 1 multi 2-in-1 pan with nonstick omelette cover, 1 cheese fondue set, & this rectangular baker, all in flame. These cast iron utensils are virtually indestructible, except for a few minor dings in the outer enamel. They cook very evenly, given the cast iron, making me a possibly better than average cook (they're one of my unfair advantages). My only problem with the cookware is the heavy weight, but that comes with the territory with cast iron utensils. I guess I'll have to get someone else to lift the pots when I'm old & decrepit. I know they'll outlive me!

I use the large rectangular baker a lot. I often bake or roast large chickens, turkeys, or roasts in it, most often in a cooking bag with potatoes, onions, carrots, & celery, which makes a full meal & quick cleanup. It's also good for large quantities of Mexican food such as enchiladas or tamales. Lasagnas do well in it. It's just the thing for large Lutheran casseroles, too. It goes directly from the oven to the table or buffet for serving, given its attractiveness. It is heavy, heavy, heavy, as are all Le Creuset pieces; it is actually my heaviest piece, so you may need to buff up before getting it.

Don't be put off by the high price of Le Creuset pots & pans. In the long run, they're a bargain because of their long life. I intend to pass mine down to my sons. Bon appetit!

Irons Review This is an Awesome Pan!
This is one of my very favorite pans! I don't usually write reviews of the products that I use. However, I think that Le Creuset products in general are great and that this pan in particular is useful. It is one of the only pans that I have ever found that will let me roast meat in the oven and then move directly onto the stovetop to make sauces and gravy from the drippings. It cooks very evenly and cleans up very well. I would highly recommend this product!

Irons Review I never thought I'd enjoy ironing.
Wow, this is a great little appliance! I've had mine now for a little over a month and love it. The first time I got it out, after finishing the recent laundry, I was pulling more clothes out of the closet just to continue using it. (I know, I couldn't believe it myself).

The Sunbeam Professional iron is a nice weight, making ironing a much smoother and less labor-intensive task than my old, lighter weight cheapo model. At risk of sounding like a commercial, the clothes almost iron themselves. My model has the Teflon soleplate and so far, I see no problems with it. Having had to deal with my previous iron melting (ACK!) fabrics and the residue sticking to the plate, this was one of my concerns when doing research prior to making a purchase. My Sunbeam glides effortlessly over anything I've ironed to date.

I was intrigued with the idea of digital controls, as well as unsure of quite what to expect. They are simple to use, with just a + or - light-touch button to move up or down to select the fabric you intend to iron. My one complaint so far is that this menu is somewhat small and difficult to see, at least for my 50+ year old eyes. A lighted display would help.

I like the steam this iron puts out. A handy lever allows you to select light or heavy steam, spray mist, or dry ironing. It also has a burst of steam button, and a cleaning button. If you follow the directions, allowing it to heat adequately before ironing, it does not drip. I've not had an opportunity to use the vertical steam option but with the stellar horizontal performance of the iron, would assume it to be satisfactory, at least.

A complimentary plastic cup to fill the reservoir is included, and works quite well. Impatience results in spilling, as one might expect. The see-through plastic reservoir is a nice feature I did not realize how much I would appreciate.

In summary, short of having someone else do your ironing, the Sunbeam Professional Iron makes the task of ironing a pleasure. I highly recommend it, as well as Amazon as a vendor. I've never been disappointed with anything I've purchased through Amazon. Contrarily, I've been pleasantly surprised with the fast shipping and customer satisfaction concern. I really appreciate the customer reviews when doing my research as well. I hope this one helps!

      Irons Review Cuisinart Waffle Maker
Burns on one side of the waffles and raw on the other side.

      Irons Review Not great
I have had my Cruisinart WMB4a waffle maker for 2 months, used it 5 times. After the third time the latch popped off while cooking a waffle, this has become an everytime annoyance. Too late to return to Amazon (over 30 days) and Cruisinart will not supply a simple part to repair it, they want me to send it back to them and pay postage both ways. I will not buy another Cruisinart product.

      Irons Review Sheer Joy
I've have used this waffle baker for over a year and couldn't be more pleased. I even hosted a waffle breakfast for the condo where I live and made waffles for over 40 people. It heats quickly, cooks quickly and with the foolproof signal light system, you can't fail. I make sure there is melted butter in the batter and I have never sullied the grids with fat or messy sprays. Note: If you leave the iron in the opened position while heating it will never burn on grease or residue. The waffles are crisp, beautifully browned and delicious. I recommend this waffle baker to anyone.
